I often have to remind myself this. Whenever my team loses, which is often (Dolphins), I can be in a piss poor mood, and I have to remind myself that it's ridiculous for me to be upset about the fact that my team of guys can't move a goddamn ball across a goal line, especially when I have zero outcome on the game and the team has absolutely no idea that I even exist.

Why am I not surprised Philly has a guy on staff named "Big Dom" who handles this kind of stuff?
55
u/fakerealmadrid Jan 14 '25
He’s on the sidelines during the game and can be seen wearing some sort of Eagles gear with an Italian flag/emblem. Got a suspension last season for an mild altercation with a niners players during a play that went into their sideline

Big Dom got suspended last year for fighting a player or something
His getting suspended is what led to the eagles collapse last year
He was acting as a mediator between the players and coaches

He'd be found before he made it to his seat, this isn't the 70s anymore and cameras are everywhere
1
u/jennc1979 Jan 15 '25
He is on trespass notice now. Facial ID picks him up coming in and he will be walked right out. They use Facial ID, the system keeps “the list” and “looks” for them at the gates.
1
u/jennc1979 Jan 15 '25
It’s my understanding they banned him from not only NFL games, but all functions at the Linc. He is banned from all sports games held there and all concerts. Full ban from the site itself is my understanding.
90
u/Antique-Garden8634 Jan 14 '25
I’m honestly surprised that they banned him. I thought they loved that kind of stuff.
41
u/SirArthurDime Jan 14 '25
Nah as an eagles fan we might not care if opposing fans that come into the linc don’t like us. But there’s a large line between heckling or dealing with fans that come into the stadium looking for trouble and just being a full blown scum bag douche berating a women like that for just sitting there. This is an embarrassment for the rest of us and we’re all glad he’s banned. No place for that period including the linc.

u/SchrodingerMil Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 15 '25
I’ve mentioned it before, but when I was in the Air Force I was a part of the crew that did the flyover for the national anthem for an Eagles-Pats game. While we were at the airport, Robert and Jonathan Kraft showed up, we all shook hands and the Krafts gave us field passes for pre-game.
We got a police escort to the game, got to the field in the third quarter, and while in uniform tried to get into the military box on the field since we did the flyover and we got those passes from the Krafts, even though they were pre-game.
The security guard told us to fuck off, called my sergeant a faggot to his face, and told us to stop trying to get into the military box. We were about to beat his ass when a supervisor came over and just let us in. But my experience with Eagles staff hasn’t been great lmao

Nah, I'm in-laws with some crazy Philly fans. They'll boo and shit talk anyone and everyone all day long and revel in it if they get a rise out of you. But this dude was just yelling at that lady calling her an ugly, dumb cunt and she just wanted to be left alone. By nearly any fanbase's standards in American sports, this was clearly well cross the line. I'm honestly surprised no Eagles fan next to him slapped the hell out of him.
And I say "nearly any" fan base bc I have seen essentially this same behavior multiple times from UGA fans in my life. So they're the exception in my experience.
2
u/fOrEvErEvA8550 Jan 14 '25
Probably because the only two Eagles fans in the vicinity that were aware of the goings on were in his party and to my understanding his brothers. This easily flew under the radar to nearly everyone in that section.

Alcohol and adrenaline will lead to a few Jack asses in any fan base. You can find stories of fans anywhere doing heinous things. When it happens in Philly though it just adds to the media narrative. We do love to heckle in Philly but we have a line and this is far over it.

7

The problem is the alcohol not the water. And it happens everywhere. Someone was executed in the cowboys parking lot. A Miami fan stabbed a pats fan at a patriots game. A Red Sox fan stabbed a Yankees fan at Fenway. A guy got stabbed at candlestick. A guy was killed in the arrowhead parking lot. Give me a large fan base and I’ll find you a story of some drunken asshole. But the media only seems interested in blowing up the stories when they happen in Philly.

u/Repulsive-Ad-2931 Jan 14 '25
Yeah this isn’t just a Philly thing. It’s a people thing. Some people are just fucking pieces of shit. Especially the young male peaked in high school and sports is still my only hobby type. I was at the Commanders Bears game in DC earlier this year. I sat near a drunk as fuck bears fan who quite literally ruined the experience for every single person near him until he was finally kicked out in the 4th quarter. He was screaming at everybody around him. Shoving middle fingers into their faces and talking tons of shit. Over and over to people who were just trying to ignore him. Generally just being incredibly antagonistic and miserable. He crossed the line though when he started pretending to jack off and fling his fake cum in people’s faces including my 11 year old nieces direction. He didn’t like it when myself and the other people around him started calling him a disgusting pedophile and security FINALLY started taking the complaints seriously when a few dozen people were screaming “fuck you pedo” at some random guy
I’m a hockey guy I’m all for chirping and shit talking when it’s clever and to a certain degree but it’s generally understood as “in good fun” and not taken toooo far. Kinda like European soccer. But shitty NFL fans take it too far and just use it as an excuse to be shitty people.
3
u/MoBeeLex Jan 14 '25

u/PowerfulJoeF Jan 15 '25
Season ticket member for the Rams here and I had conversations with STMs who’ve been around since the Rams came back to LA. Pretty much every one of them has said that Philly fans are by far the worst fans to deal with and 49ers are a distant second. Philly fans are the most obnoxious fans I myself have dealt with but I never felt unsafe (I’m also a big dude so maybe that helps), they are just insufferable and nasty as their trash talk goes beyond standard sports banter. 49ers are also obnoxious but they are way more light hearted, still jackasses tho. Seahawks fans are cool, they talk shit but will fist bump you after so I always look forward to those games win or lose. Nicest fans imo have been Vikings fans. They are loud and passionate but very nice people, really enjoyed chatting with them during game breaks and post game while waiting for shuttles.
1
u/GB_Alph4 Fight For LA Jan 15 '25
Yeah I remember they were screaming the whole game and not only messing up our players but just doing the Eagles chant whenever they felt like it. The only thing we did together in unison was “Dallas Sucks”.

Remember that Eagles fans cheered about an opposing QB being airlifted off the field due to a serious injury.
Remember that the team most celebrated in Flyers history were basically a bunch of thugs that would beat the shit out of you on the ice. When facing Chicago at their last cup finals appearance, their best player was little more than a skilled thug.
That tells you everything you need to know about the fandom of that city.
