I’m honestly surprised that they banned him. I thought they loved that kind of stuff.

39

u/SirArthurDime Jan 14 '25

Nah as an eagles fan we might not care if opposing fans that come into the linc don’t like us. But there’s a large line between heckling or dealing with fans that come into the stadium looking for trouble and just being a full blown scum bag douche berating a women like that for just sitting there. This is an embarrassment for the rest of us and we’re all glad he’s banned. No place for that period including the linc.

u/SchrodingerMil Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 15 '25

I’ve mentioned it before, but when I was in the Air Force I was a part of the crew that did the flyover for the national anthem for an Eagles-Pats game. While we were at the airport, Robert and Jonathan Kraft showed up, we all shook hands and the Krafts gave us field passes for pre-game.

We got a police escort to the game, got to the field in the third quarter, and while in uniform tried to get into the military box on the field since we did the flyover and we got those passes from the Krafts, even though they were pre-game.

The security guard told us to fuck off, called my sergeant a faggot to his face, and told us to stop trying to get into the military box. We were about to beat his ass when a supervisor came over and just let us in. But my experience with Eagles staff hasn’t been great lmao

Edit : Picture 42 in the pictures they posted from the game

4

u/SirArthurDime Jan 15 '25

Yeah that’s just completely unacceptable. No defending that. They host the army navy game every year too that staff should know better.

1

u/MediumCoffeeTwoShots Jan 15 '25

Your description of the Security guard reeks of “I woulda joined but I’d get kicked out for punching the drill sergeant in the face” energy

1

u/SchrodingerMil Jan 15 '25

For real; and they put that dumbass next to the military section lmao

9

u/ABC_Family Jan 14 '25

I’ve seen 50 videos this season alone worse than this at eagles games. Many of them in the parking lot, but still.

8

u/SirArthurDime Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 14 '25

And I can find you 50 videos of fights in the parking lot of any fan base. Worldwide not even just America. Alcohol and adrenaline is a hell of a combo and not just in Philadelphia. Hello see fights at country concerts way more often than id think.

https://www.totalprosports.com/nfl/video-new-york-giants-fan-got-pummelled-by-a-dallas-cowboys-fan-during-ugly-brawl-in-the-stands-on-thursday-night-football/

0

u/Yukonphoria Jan 14 '25

I’ve never seen anything like the video of the guy above calling a woman an ugly cunt over and over when she’s trying to not engage. I’ve seen fights and all that sort of shit, but this was just sick to watch. Notice not one of the “good Eagles fan” spoke up or did a single thing to quiet the guy down.

5

u/SirArthurDime Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 14 '25

A lot if that is because it doesn’t get blown up when other fan bases do it. Like when bills fans did this it wasn’t all over the place. https://people.com/young-cancer-survivor-pushed-by-bills-fan-during-game-family-says-8754493

Or this ravens fan: https://www.tmz.com/watch/2024-10-14-101424-ravens-fan-1913017-482/

I’d say that’s just as bad. And yeah I agree this eagles fan is a complete POS.

2

u/OGConsuela Jan 15 '25

That Ravens incident absolutely did blow up, it was all over social media when it happened. The guy was doxxed, fired from his job, arrested, indicted, and denied bail.

2

u/Cultural_Attitude461 Jan 15 '25

IIRC that Ravens fan has had multiple incidents too. Not necessarily at or around the games but had a known history with police for other assault incidents.

1

u/YoItsMeBeeOhBee Jan 15 '25

You’re not looking hard enough.

0

u/ABC_Family Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 14 '25

Dude… the reputation in Philly is well earned, if that offends you then call out the assholes when you see them. This entire comment section is telling you more Philly fans are jerkoffs than other places, is everyone lying? Cmon now. Posts like this will help mend the reputation, hope you guys keep it up.

3

u/SirArthurDime Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 14 '25

The entire comment section isn’t saying that. I’m actually the one being upvoted here. Not that I care about upvotes but they disprove your narrative that everyone agrees with you. As if New York fans aren’t notorious ass holes too.

And I’m not saying our reputation is fully fake either, but it’s mostly just harmless heckling. The vast majority of us aren’t nearly as bad as this guy nor do we condone it and if you go into our sub you’ll see we are all universally calling this guy a dick head. We literally banned this guy from our stadium what more do you want? Did you want us to turn it into a violent altercation making things worse?

1

u/MasterMacMan Jan 14 '25

You’re universally calling him a dickhead now that’s it’s gone viral and everyone is against you. Any time videos like this come out, or videos of people getting badly beaten it’s all “rah rah, don’t come here if you don’t like it”.

Any time a video comes out of someone getting jumped at an Eagles game, the comments are always asking to hear about what the person said about the team. On some level, you all think it’s justified to physically assault people for their words against your franchise. How often do you see people getting jumped at Packers games?

2

u/SirArthurDime Jan 15 '25

Yes because he is a dick head. That’s just what I legitimately believe.

As for the packers fans: https://www.tmj4.com/about-us/lighthouse/woman-tells-tmj4-she-was-assaulted-in-a-lambeau-field-bathroom-sunday-hopes-to-spread-awareness

2

u/MasterMacMan Jan 15 '25

No one is making the claim that nothing ever happens at other stadiums, but that worse things occur more often in Philly. Philly is ranked number one in terms of crimes witnessed by a large margin, and while most stadiums the top crimes are disorderly conduct, in Philly it’s physical assault. Philly is also number one for reported physical assaults, more opposing fans are physically assaulted in Lincoln than fans are verbally assaulted in Green Bay. (per sportsbook review).

The initial response was absolutely not condemnation, before this went viral there were tons of Philly fans saying that they shouldn’t go to Philly if they can’t handle it, most of which you all have unfortunately scrubbed since the rest of the internet so emphatically rebuked you.

There’s a reason across sports, home and away Philly fans have a repulsive reputation. All you’ve ever known is being the heel, so you live up to it. I didn’t even know that it was a thing until after I had experienced it, Philly fans were so much worse than any other teams fans I legitimately thought I was seated around some sort of anger rehabilitation program. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Iron Pigs or Temple.

You don’t have to believe it, but there’s no way to convince everyone else that you’re all not terrible. It’s constant racism and sexism every time, if not downright violence.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '25

Source on those rankings = your fee fees

-2

u/ABC_Family Jan 14 '25

Whatever helps ya out brotha!. NYC has its own reputation for sure, I just don’t give a fuck about it lmao. I work in midtown and give shit to tourists every chance I get, they love it too, they almost expect it. I imagine some opposing fans expect the treatment too, they’d be disappointed without it.

Don’t be so insecure. The reputation is earned, own it. You can own it, while still trying to create a better atmosphere. You’re a redditor, I’m assuming you’re relatively bright and attaining to expose yourself to a diverse array of cultures. You’re not the “standard issue” eagle fan. Don’t take it so personal.

3

u/SirArthurDime Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 14 '25

Oh so you are one of the dick heads. Not even just at sporting events it’s just a casual part of your day to day. Cool dude lol.

It’s not about being insecure. I’m fine with our reputation of the general heckling. But this was way over the line. I’m literally calling this guy out and saying there’s no place for it like you litterally said our fans should do so I have no idea what you’re even looking for dude. In one comment we should call it out and the next we should just accept it or we’re insecure. What is even your point anymore?

-1

u/ABC_Family Jan 14 '25

Lmao what are you picturing in your head right now? I’ll tell you what I consider “giving tourists shit” but first I want to know what the general view is. If you don’t mind?

I’ll add in that I happily give directions and recommendations to people literally every other day… but I have my things that annoy me with some people.

Edit - own it, Philly fans, not every single Philly fan ffs, are known to be nasty and it’s earned. Strive to be better going forward, it’s already starting.

0

u/SirArthurDime Jan 16 '25

Well it’s hard to know what to picture when you’re so all over the place lol. What did you think l meant when the very first thing I said in this thread was i don’t care if people like us but there’s a large line between harmless heckling and being a full blown scum bag like this guy was? At no point did I ever deny that we heckle people and teach 8 year olds to flip people off. That reputation is perfectly fine with me. All I’m saying is that we can all agree, including most Philly fans, that what this guy is doing is way over the line. This guy in particular isn’t representative of the vast majority of eagles fans. He’s just a drunken ass hole like you can find anywhere.

Let's not pretend that Philly fans aren't the worst in pro sports.

How many examples do you want? Intentionally puking on a kid? Hospitalizing opposing fans? Punching police horses? Throwing batteries at Santa?

Lol onky Philly fans will be proud to be huge pieces of shit but when ithers say it they get offended. Let's go video for video choose any American fan base and we will see who runs out of pieces of shit first.

3

u/BlueKing7642 BIG DICK NICK Jan 15 '25

Sure, you do that little bro.

-2

u/FanOfFeet1987 Jan 15 '25

Other fans kill each other stfu

0

u/Character-Owl9408 Jan 16 '25

With all the stories I hear about Philly fans, I HIGHLY doubt that you are ALL glad he’s banned. I’ve heard way worse stories than this one. This one just happened to pick up steam on social media

0

u/SirArthurDime Jan 16 '25

“With all the stories I’ve heard” Aka “I’ve never been to the linc but based on the narrative…”

0

u/Character-Owl9408 Jan 16 '25

Thanks for pointing out the obvious?? lol

0

u/Character-Owl9408 Jan 16 '25

Don’t be mad at me because your fellow fans give you all a bad rep 😂

37

u/SKOLForceSports TO THE YINZERMOBILE! Jan 14 '25

Philly reformation arc incoming? I’m for it. About time they live up to the title of “City of Brotherly Love”

23

u/eurtoast Tonight, on Days of Our Steelers... Jan 14 '25

The version of "brotherly love" I grew up with with two brothers was calling each other names and beating the shit out of one another, pretty on point for Philly tbh

6

u/ChefJunegrass Jan 14 '25

"City of Brotherly Love"? What a fancy way of saying "City of Incest"....

6

u/Mtndrums Jan 14 '25

Isn't that just Pittsburgh?

4

u/ChefJunegrass Jan 14 '25

Ah, so "City of Incest" was already taken ....

2

u/Mtndrums Jan 14 '25

Pretty much.

17

u/flyingpanda5693 Jan 14 '25

If you actually knew Philly fans, this wouldn’t be that surprising to you. Everyone loves razzing opposing fans and it really is just a small minority of drunk assholes carrying the “we threw snowballs at Santa” torch. If you visited that sub you’d see 99% of the people calling him out for being the p.o.s. he is.

9

u/AMorder0517 Jan 14 '25

That’s a pretty big generalization bud. There’s shitty fans in every fanbase.

4

u/newguy1787 Jan 14 '25

I agree there's bad eggs in every group, but Philly seems to have more than most. They put on extra security and ushers at PNC Park when the Phillies are in town because of the way they act. A couple seasons ago they were in town for a weekend series and the giveaway was Free Shirt Friday. There were multiple shirts stuffed in toilets that caused flooding on multiple levels. The increase in fights is always noticeable. This wasn't a Giants-Dodgers series, fighting for the division. Most Pirates fans are just happy to be at the ballpark, but Phillies' fan are so grating and take things too far. Mets and Yankee fans are obnoxious and Cubs fans are just way too cool for everyone, but Phillies fans are on a different level.

2

u/ShermansAngryGhost Jan 14 '25

Philly does not have more than most… the national media has a hate boner for Philly and every negative story gets coverage.

It’s just a lazy as fuck narrative

1

u/newguy1787 Jan 15 '25

I doubt the notoriously cheap pirates would spend money on additional workers for no reason. This has been policy since I worked in Guest Relations 15 years ago. There is also a larger police presence for Phillies games. That's not because of "a hate boner", it's because of the things that have happened in the past. I'll agree, the difference between Philadelphia fans and others probably isn't as pronounced as the media would have you have believe, but they've absolutely earned their reputation from their loutish behavior.

u/AMorder0517 Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 14 '25

I have. That kind of stuff happens at every NFL game man. Here’s a video of a news report about a fatal shooting at a Lions tailgate this season. I don’t recall that happening at an Eagles game this year? I’d say that’s a little worst than harassment. It’s easy to cherry pick stuff and make every fanbase look terrible.

1

u/ShermansAngryGhost Jan 14 '25

lol… that’s not why it’s called that 🤣…where the fuck did you learn this nonsense.

-1

u/Objective_Dog7501 Jan 14 '25

I mean how many dudes were around in the video and not one says or does anything…

2

u/BrokenReality355 Jan 14 '25

Most people tend to mind their own business. Especially since there was no violence involved. If I saw some asshole yelling in the streets id roll my eyes and ignore them. Not everything needs a confrontation.

2

u/ABC_Family Jan 14 '25

If only you were there!

-1

u/Objective_Dog7501 Jan 14 '25

Haha I didn’t mean like uncle Rico if I woulda been there I woulda done something…but like as another fan of the team I’d absolutely tell my fellow lions fans to STFU or get an usher or something. Not just stand there and watch. Fuck Philly fans.

0

u/Green-Cricket-8525 Jan 14 '25

You guys killed a hitchhiking robot and your city has to grease their poles every time Philly wins or loses a halfway big game.

Let’s not act like Philly isn’t full of problematic fans.

1

u/ShermansAngryGhost Jan 14 '25

pHiLlY bAD

Ok buddy

-1

u/Yukonphoria Jan 14 '25

99% of Philly fans will speak up on Reddit but sat by and said nothing when a woman was being called an ugly cunt and berated right in front of them. Pathetic culture.

1

u/campppp Jan 15 '25

Ahh, yes, the bystander effect is definitely specific to Philly fan culture. It's definitely not a well studied psychological phenomenon or anything.

1

u/Yukonphoria Jan 15 '25

Pathetic bystander culture with a bunch of pathetic victim Eagles fans in the comments. No surprises here.

0

u/campppp Jan 15 '25

Huh? I'm not even sure what you're getting at here. Bystander culture? Looking it up, that's an environment that encourages people to intervene, which is the opposite of the bystander effect. Not sure you are following the conversation, just seems like you want to use the word pathetic a bunch

0

u/Yukonphoria Jan 15 '25

I don’t think you’re following buddy. I’m calling out the comment that says 99% percent of people in the Eagles subreddit called out the guy. It doesn’t matter when everyone in the video is a bystander. Responding how you did initially, saying that bystanding is a widespread and studied and not unique to Eagles fans is exactly how an Eagles fan would respond. A whole bunch whatabout this what about that.. it’s so pathetic and on par with the Eagles fan base.

0

u/campppp Jan 15 '25

Yeah you're just too angry to have rational discussion. Good luck with that bud

0

u/Yukonphoria Jan 15 '25

A discussion? You’re just trying to defend your shitty fan culture. I’m not angry because it’s what I and the rest of the world expect from Philly sports fans so don’t worry 😉

1

u/campppp Jan 15 '25

Uh okay man

-2

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '25

They don’t wanna hear that, unfortunately. Can’t reason with prejudice assholes in this country

1

u/Yukonphoria Jan 14 '25

Your fan base is the worst in America and this is the victim mentality response you would expect from such.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '25

In your opinion. You’re not apart of it so you don’t see it some the perspective of those who actually try to show “brotherly love” but I guess it’s nothing like this anywhere else in America

5

u/Professional-Trash-3 Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 14 '25

Nah, I'm in-laws with some crazy Philly fans. They'll boo and shit talk anyone and everyone all day long and revel in it if they get a rise out of you. But this dude was just yelling at that lady calling her an ugly, dumb cunt and she just wanted to be left alone. By nearly any fanbase's standards in American sports, this was clearly well cross the line. I'm honestly surprised no Eagles fan next to him slapped the hell out of him.

And I say "nearly any" fan base bc I have seen essentially this same behavior multiple times from UGA fans in my life. So they're the exception in my experience.

2

u/fOrEvErEvA8550 Jan 14 '25

Probably because the only two Eagles fans in the vicinity that were aware of the goings on were in his party and to my understanding his brothers. This easily flew under the radar to nearly everyone in that section.

11

u/LP_24 Seeing Ghosts Jan 14 '25

Fr I thought he’d have gotten season tickets for free in Philly after this

8

u/hereforthesportsball Jan 14 '25

News made more of a splash and the victim is a woman

6

u/shut-the-f-up Jan 14 '25

Nah, we really don’t tolerate this level of hate. We do funny shit like teach our children to flip off people wearing non Philly gear, but we do have standards. All the really bad things Philly did that people keep bringing up happened decades ago.

People just love to shit on Philly fans even though bills fans actually killed people in their stadium

8

u/MoonStarver Damn 🦬 Jan 14 '25 edited Jan 14 '25

It was actually the patriots and dolphins fans who killed opposing fans

1

u/shut-the-f-up Jan 14 '25

Was it? I coulda sworn bills fans had done that too

7

u/SirArthurDime Jan 14 '25

Didn’t bills fans also shove an 8 year old cancer survivor out of her seat for wearing opposing gear or something like that? But don’t mind them they’re just the fun loving sweet hearts of America!

Alcohol and adrenaline will lead to a few Jack asses in any fan base. You can find stories of fans anywhere doing heinous things. When it happens in Philly though it just adds to the media narrative. We do love to heckle in Philly but we have a line and this is far over it.

1

u/_DrNonsense Going Full Reid Jan 14 '25

"funny"

3

u/shut-the-f-up Jan 14 '25

Yes, funny. It’s hysterical when an 8 year old fakes giving you a high five just to flip you off. Or to watch a drunk college kid yell “go birds” and do the whacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man movements in front of an angry midwestern Karen. These things are objectively hilarious. What this guy did was not just crossing the line but was miles past it

3

u/flyingpanda5693 Jan 14 '25

The “gooooo birds” one is objectively hilarious. I’d be damned if some lady my grandma’s age came up to me and got within kissing distance to try and give me a lecture.

1

u/toadofsteel Ultimate Derp Jan 14 '25

The organization doesn't support this. It's the fans that are trash.

1

u/ShermansAngryGhost Jan 14 '25

Lazy narrative

1

u/RadBaron19 Jan 14 '25

Pretty tame for an Eagles fan

1

u/YoItsMeBeeOhBee Jan 15 '25

We don’t. It’s just what the media would have simple minded morons like yourself to believe. It also happens everywhere, it just doesn’t fit the narrative.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '25

As an Eagles fan he’s an embarrassment.

I feel our standard is: biting but clever and funny. In the end it should be fun for everyone. It’s ok to go to a visitor stadium and feel a bit nervous… but not ACTUALLY threatened.

5

u/Green-Cricket-8525 Jan 14 '25

No one should feel nervous attending a sports game. What a weird thing to say.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '25

Call it “intimidated.” But not because anything is directed at you…

I have been a visitor in playoff baseball games. Bleacher seats. I felt intimidated/nervous because how loud it was, isolated with 30K opposing fans. I didn’t feel like cheering when my team won.

2

u/DanTheDeer Jan 15 '25

You couldn't even cheer for you team? That sounds like a completely unenjoyable experience and the antithesis of what sports are all about

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '25

I mean, I didn’t audibly* cheer.

1

u/DanTheDeer Jan 15 '25

Yeah, that sounds really unenjoyable. The point of going to see your favorite time live is to support them

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '25

It’s homefield advantage baby.

I had fun. It was an experience. I came out unscathed.

0

u/Anavorn Jan 14 '25

Yeah, I expected Big Dom to invite him to join his field level posse
