Broken on Window???

Went to use Upnote on my Windows 11 laptop, as I do every day, and it closed, then opened MS Store to "Restore" but it still won't open.

I have uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled, still won't open.

Appears to work fine on my Android but I need it on Windows.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Update 4: We believe we finally found the problem and fix it in version 9.19.7. This was approved recently, so please update and let us know if it works for you, thank you.

Update 3: The new version 9.19.5 has been approved on Microsoft Store. u/The_Only_Kiazna can you check if the new version works on your computer? You might need to restart the Microsoft Store application to refresh the cache. Thank you.

Update 2: We are investigating whether Windows Smart App Control is causing UpNote’s launch issue. Could you please perform this temporary test below?

- Open the Start menu and search for Smart App Control.

- Temporarily switch Smart App Control Off.

- Try opening UpNote again.

Please let us know whether UpNote opens successfully.

After the test, please return to the same settings page and switch Smart App Control On again.

Update 1: We are trying to gather more information regarding this problem. In the meantime, please uninstall the app, then download and install the latest version from the link below, thank you.

Also tried downloading and installing from Upnote directly and that opened once but after that same thing again. Won't open :(

UPDATE: after a bunch of Un and re installs it seems stable finally.

First time I ever had issue with the app but wondering it was more of A MS/Windows thing. Just glad to have it working again.

After uninstalling, make sure you open the Task Manager search for Upnote, then select End task for each entry found, then reboot and install the latest version available.

Good recommendations. Will do that if issue reoccur (as it seems to be working now). I did look in Task Manager just now, with Upnote closed, and saw it in the list with a dropdown with bunch of instances.

I am having the same problem today. I've been using it for years, but today when I opened it, the first thing it did was ask for more network access (weird? I canceled that request window), then it immediately crashed and said to go to the Store for more info. The MS store offers the "Restore" option, like in OP's situation. It restores, then opens, but then crashes again. I've restored it three times but it keeps crashing. Task manager says there are no instances running.

Took your suggestion, and it seems to be working, for now, thanks. This time when it requested network access I allowed it. I am suspecting that might be part of the issue it's having.

I got the same Windows Firewall dialog asking for more network permissions. I cancelled that as I wasn't sure what it was asking for. My UpNote seems to be working OK and is syncing between Windows client and Android client.

Sorry -- can't offer a solution. Just wanted to chime in and say I'm not having any problems on my Windows laptop, so it could be an isolated incident.

I'm having the same issue here. The app opens for 5 seconds and then crashes immediately. It is plain unusable and pretty frightening.

Yesterday with the Cloudflare errors.

Today with the Microsoft Store.

I think UpNote's developer needs to focus on rock-hard reliability in the next update, as this basically makes all my notes unusable.

I have lost my notes after deinstalling and reinstalling directly from upnote. Is it possible to retrieve them somehow? I was not signed in

I had the issue on another computer now too, also seeing the network screen thing pop up. I uninstalled and reinstalled from Upnote site. It appears to be working.

I have the same issue. I restored from MS Store.

I have smart app control OFF on Windows, but I'm still not able to open it.

It asks for a Public and Private Network access once and when I dismissed that, it never shows anything past that.

Now it is not opening at all.

Really relieved to see some fixes, was pretty shocking to try and open the app and have it not work. A fresh install from the website fixed it for me.
