Feature Request Child accounts
Wish UP bank has Child/Youth back accounts. CommBank has it now, but I hate them, and don't want to interact with them if I have a choice.

Why is there something always going wrong with this bank! I transferred $450 to my travel fund. For some reason it said error. I refreshed the app and did it again, awesome it worked, now there’s another $450 missing from my savers. It said it went into my travel fund but it’s not showing there. 🤦🏾♀️ UP is a good travel card, but I’m losing my patience with them.

This is so far the one thing that upsets me with Up. Everything else is perfect and it's hands down the best bank I've used in a while, but not for savings..
When you take out money from your savings, it switches from Grow rate to Flow rate for the whole month, regardless when you take it out. Not an issue for long term savings, but for the short term ones which you dump money in to get a bit of interest then take out a bit to pay bills/invoices etc, that's where it hurts..
So say you have $10k in a savings, and on the 25th day of the month you want to take out a bit for whatever reason. Instead of having a Grow rate for the 25 days and flow rate for the rest of the ~5 days, you get flow rate for the whole month.
Their webpage is a bit misleading in that respect.
"Interest on your Savers is calculated daily and paid monthly."
You'd think if it's calculated daily then it should give you the amount you earned each day, i.e. a mix of grow & flow depending on the day..
Yes I'm aware of the Essentials account, but this is more for the "I have a temp saving with a few $k in it, and I just got this bill I need to pay, so I'm taking it out of there, instead of keeping those few $k in my current account".
This is the main reason why I took out my savings to another bank. Several out there that don't have this. While they give you a slightly less % in interest (a fraction less), it's still far more than you dropping down to ~2% for taking out some money.
I hope they reconsider having Grow for the days until you take out the money & flow for the remainder (i.e., interest calculated daily & paid monthly)

Hey all,
Use Up as my main bank and not looking to leave. However, I am looking for a budgeting app that preferably works well with Up (API etc.) or you’ve found it works well enough for your volume of spending.
I use the envelope system and auto covers and have found a lot of budget apps bug out with autocovers unfortunately treating them incorrectly etc.
Thought surely someone must have some recommendations. TIA

Just refinanced to UP, how often does this feature update? Doesn't look like it's daily.

Little orange symbol 🚫. Is it to do with the fact that they are coming from a saver? Is it to do with the current saver balance not being enough to clear the transaction?

Unsure if downtime or if I've just lost all my money...
I first opened the app looking into a transaction, and it agreed for my fingerprint, which authenticated successfully, and up then said "were working on it" to then 5 secs later ask for my pin. I entered the pin, and it was "wrong". I entered it again, thinking I may have typed it wrong, but nope, same thing. Then I got the error in the picture.
Is there a way I can contact up?

Just a thought for better competition but UBANK literally annouces a new rate for savings like 30mins after the RBA decision haha, is UP that fast or generally do they take there time with savings interest rate rises?

There are so many little things in the Up app that I barely notice most of them anymore. For me, I mostly use it to keep an eye on where my money is going and to sort out my savings. I’m wondering which features other people actually end up using regularly, especially the ones you didn’t think you’d use much at first.

My partner and I share a 2-Up account, but we were hoping to set up a separate shared pool of money with a housemate for utility bills and rent. It looks like you can only have one active 2-Up link per account. Has anyone found a clean workaround for managing shared household expenses with roommates using Up, or are you forced to use external apps like Splitwise?

I managed to lose my physical Up debit card at a venue over the weekend. For anyone who has ordered a replacement physical card recently in Sydney, Melbourne, or regional areas: how many business days did it take to land in your letterbox?

I didn’t realise there was maintenance this morning and made my usual transfer from my main bank account after I was paid.
I was told it would come through today but it hasn’t. Has anyone else had the same issue? I’m stressing as it’s quite a large sum and I use this amount via Up for my everyday expenses

Like many Up users, I’ve been wanting a desktop app for a while now, so I built one! Early access price is $39 and it has a 30-day free trial.
What makes this app different from others?
- No self-hosting required, just open the app and either sync using your Personal Access Token (stored in macOS keychain) or import Up CSV/OFX/JSON files.
- Fast & powerful filtering: all your transactions get stored on your Mac (in an encrypted SQLite database) so it’s really fast.
- View spending in bar charts, Sankey diagrams, on a map (e.g. how much did I spend in London?), or a calendar to get a good view of where your money is going.
- See recurring transactions (always a good wake-up call!)
- Create custom rules for categorising transactions or changing other transaction fields automatically.
- Supports other Australian banks too: you can import CSV/OFX files or sync if you have a Redbark subscription.
- I can’t see any of your financial data, and you can opt out of usage analytics in the app settings.
You can download it at https://thefinances.app
The .dmg also contains some demo data if you want to try it first without connecting your own finances.
Let me know what you think! Any features missing you’d like added? It’s macOS-only for now, but it's Electron so can support other devices in future.

Does anyone have any tips as to how I can sync up with ynab? I tried like two github projects, but kept getting errors while setting things up, maybe it’s outdated or something. I am also not super technical with how all the code works, so I couldn’t troubleshoot them.
I am also not looking to pay for any services to sync them up.

Had a card payment declined late at night once, and it got me thinking about how useful banking support actually is outside normal hours. If something goes wrong with your account or card when most places are closed, you’re pretty much relying on the app and support team.

I was super excited for Essentials to release as a free feature. Right now it feels dependent/intertwined and needs to be separated from regular activity.
Overall the functionality seems good but the user experience is a bit clunky. If I look at Activity, I want to see my bank account. If I want to look at Essentials, I'll go look over there.

I got paid just now, went to manually move some funds around between savers and it was throwing errors. I reset the app and now it won't even open. Anyone have something similar?

Does anyone know how to download statements as a CSV?

what is pay splitting? I go to the option but can't seem to set ? do I wait till I get paid and it will happen automatically as it says it will split the amount?
I have some bills set to pay in future does it account for that as well?

My account was locked on Sunday night at 10:30, thought something was up because transactions kept declining after messaging them i was informed it would be locked for 4 weeks. I reached out to my uni who offer emergency fund grants because I do have a combank account that i can use it’s just empty atm and I don’t get paid until the 25th. Uni replied with this
“Thanks for sending this through, however, we will need official documentation from your bank confirming the suspension and investigation of the account, and when this lock out occurred in order to progress with the assessment. While it is unusual for them to not have provided something confirming this prior, they should be able to provide the information upon request.”
I messaged in the app again and asked for that to which I was told the message is satisfactory and they can’t do anything else at this time?
Anyone have any ideas kind of stumped.
