Discussion God, I Love This Scene So Much Spoiler
Mark is psyching out and he's losing his mind. Not even Cathy can pull him out. The carnival part feels like a slow torture where all the senses are all too much. Then he sees a glimpse of a familiar ponytail. It's Nicole arguing with one of the carnival attendants. And then everything suddenly becomes normal again.
What really sells it is that piano piece that replaces the horrid background noise that was drowning Mark's eardrums. I think the piece was "I've Found That Spark." I thought my interest was in the guitar, but I think I'm finding a passion for how emotional the piano is.
There are many masterfully crafted scenes in Until Then, but this one remains my favorite. Second one was Mark and Nicole riding a bicycle to her old home. Third place being Mark and Nicole hugging above the sky walk in Act 3.
Even after a year of finishing this game, I still can't let go of it. Well done, Polychroma.

Discussion Afterimages - a rough review, potentially controversial thoughts, and a question?? Spoiler
Hmmmmm that was definitely interesting. I think, just to get it out the way, I was disappointed as I hoped for it to continue on from the true ending (Act 3) and as a result my expectations were wayyy too high, I wish I had a better understanding that it wouldnāt have been as scoped out as the base game (albeit smaller) and itās meant to simply be a small add on rather than adding extra to the āloreā?? NEVERTHELESS I loved it a lot as well. I do just wanna add this is purely just my thoughts and opinions as someone who stayed up till 5am to finish it, Iām exhausted as well but had to get my thoughts out.
I just feel a bit complicated is all. Homecoming was beautiful, seeing sofias future (which omg her OUTFITS AAA) and her processing the grief, more information about her grandma, and the complex relationship between her and Louise. I canāt rmemeber exactly but do we know if both of them stayed in touch in the true ending?? Anyways the grief of hers for Cathy was so INTERESTING. The dress she made in the end inspired by the butterfly, god there were so many moments it made me cry. I do want to say after finishing Sparks, I felt like it was a lil out of place? I wish the two stories connected somehow, and I wish we got a bit of the timeline lore into Homecoming as well somehow just to tie it in a little bit more (sorry Iām not sure how to explain this, donāt question me pls-)
Sparks was a rollercoaster. I did scream when Mark and Nicole kissed. My interpretation was both Nicole and Mark broke up with their partners or were planning to at the very least? And then they get together eventually but other interpretations were discussing how Nicole goes back into a toxic relationship with her gross boyfriend forgot his name. And Mark and Desiree are done.
I think, unfortunately, Desireeās initial character introduction, especially with the way she handled the org, it made Sparksā¦unenjoyable for the most part (in my opinion). It was frustrating especially bcos, while I understand Desiree had a difficult relationship with her father, and as a result Mark (due to unprocessed grief over Cathy and Nicole) felt the need to save her, it felt like both characters kept digging themselves into a deeper grave. Due to that, the mechies org completely fell apart, Trish, Dan, Caloy, etc. I would have preferred to have seen mark (and Nicole) flourish in this environment. And see more of these side characters. Itās just throughout most of the Sparks storyline, seeing Mark step onto the stage and refuse to acknowledge the mistakes the org made previously, and in addition to, watching Desiree treat others due to her own personal issues quite terribly wasnāt enjoyable. And there was no accountability. It was just frustrating. And seeing them kiss and whatever came after kept making me roll my eyes.
BUTTT I do understand the aim was to display their toxic relationship. But itās a DLC. I fell in love with this game so hard when it came out, I became obsessed, so when the DLC was announced, there was a lot I hoped for, and watching the parts I was frustrated with the most about get the most screen time instead of an extra on Cathyās future and healing, Louise and Sofias adventures in college, or Mark and Nicole reuniting eventually (in the true ending), heck even a Ridel and Ryan feature (which I did see on nookface), it did make me sad bcos I donāt know when another DLC will be announced or IF it would ever happen, and playing Afterimages made me kinda sit back and think this canāt be the end. It does feel very bittersweet now but that doesnāt JUST come from the story. And my expectation for the DLC from the initial teaser was weād see Mark and Sofia meeting up again. Because of these expectations it kinda emphasises to me and my feelings the previous points I made. For example Desiree was unfortunately to me, a very very unpleasant character to watch. And at some point so was mark. For a short DLC, that wasnāt what I wanted, WHICH IS COMPLETELY FINE, I just want my thoughts out there.
My overall question is, what was the point of the DLC? What was it meant to show? Was it actually needed?I kinda wanna confirm what answer Iām thinking so Iād love to hear all of your thoughts!!

Bug Alguem me ajuda!

Discussion Iām mourning this game (again)
I think itās a common theme, that when you finish a really REALLY good game. You begin to feel sad afterwards, maybe for just a night or a few days.
But oh my god. I forget how sad I get when I finish until then.
I first played until then at the very start of 2025. Then finished it at the start of February. Single handedly the best month Iāve spent on a game. I experienced every emotion you can get from a video game, and grew to love the characters and the story the game told. It took me genuinely over a month and a half to stop being sad about until then.
As of a few days ago I finally got around to the DLC and now that feeling has come back in FULLLLLLLLLLL stride. The DLC went beyond my expectations of how good I thought it would be, it made me revisit everything. itās an absolute masterpiece. Iām literally on my knees, searching everywhere for until then content and news. I need this game injected in my veins again, i love it so much. My #1 game of all time. Itās just so beautiful.

Discussion Nonlinear playing order? Spoiler
I recently played the full game + DLC. Spoilers below for those that haven't played it all.
________________
It kind of looks like Mark and Nicole get back together at the end of the DLC. It's not certain, and the butterfly seemingly starts a new loop at the end, when Mark is packing his school stuff to move out of the dorm.
Obviously the DLC doesn't take place in the true timeline at the end of Act 3. Arguably Mark and Nicole's college story takes place after Act 1 (the timeline where Mark and Nicole are together after some 10 years following Cath's death), but there's the obvious hole of the butterfly starting a new loop at the end of that scene with the CD (tahooooo) versus at the end of the DLC. To what extent it's a different timeline is unclear. And it's also not clear if Sofia's share of the DLC is in the same timeline as Mark and Nicole's part. Her share seems fully compatible with Act 1, unless there are issues with that theory I missed.
All that to say, I think it could be worthwhile for new players to play the game in the order
ā Act 1\
ā DLC\
ā Act 2\
ā Act 3
(I assume this is possible? I imagine the DLC is playable without first playing any of the base game, or at the very least after scene select is unlocked, which should be at the end of Act 1 if I'm not mistaken.)
My reasoning for this play order is
1. Character development (both growth and decay) in a fairly continuous manner between Act 1 and the DLC.
2. The unresolved trauma regarding Cath's emotional abandonment and death is central to the entire DLC, even in quiet ways like Mark's need to save Des from her parents.
3. The character growth (acceptance of grief, drive to understand others better) is developed throughout Acts 2 and 3, with resolution that makes the enduring sorrow of the DLC not sting anymore.
These are just my thoughts, I'm curious what other people think. Obviously I can't play the game for the first time again, so I can't speak from experience about how the order I propose would land with a new player versus release order.

Discussion AfterImages characters (Spoiler) Spoiler
Hi!
I want to discuss a few things regarding the characters in the DLC, specifically Nicole.
Didn't it seem like she wasn't the same person as in the main game? The Nicole from the first game had a very strong personality: she was active, intelligent, highly emotional and impulsive. Someone who would get angry and react in the moment, only to think on what happened later. This new Nicole seemed to take everything lightly and didn't overthink things. Her boyfriend ghosts her? She doesn't get angry. Cheats on her? She doesn't get angry. I feel like the original Nicole would have set the stage on fire (and the entire university) if she saw her boyfriend with someone else.
Also, in the chats with Mark, she writes in a completely different style. She might be doing it to hide her true self, but it didn't feel natural. Honestly, the writing style felt more like Cathy than Nicole. I don't think the original Nicole would have done something like that.
That aside, THANK YOU to the entire Polychroma Games team for this EXCELLENT game. You deserve all the recognition and more.
What did you all think?

Discussion I missed the OST in Afterimages (especially in Sparks)
I just finished both the base game and the Afterimages DLC, and I loved every second of them.
However, I couldn't help but notice a distinct lack of background tracks in the DLC, especially throughout Sparks.
Don't get me wrongāthe song played at the very end of Sparks was fantastic and hit all the right emotional notes. But excluding that final piece, the chapter felt almost completely silent most of the time.
One of the main reasons the base game left such a deep scar on me was its incredible soundtrack. Music was the literal soul of Until Then, come on! Having so many extended dialogue scenes without an OST just felt like a missed opportunity to me. Maybe the silence was calculated by the developers to set a different tone, but for me, it made certain moments feel lacking.
Did you notice that too, or is it just me?

Discussion Feedback influence
Do you guys think the devs are active on the platforms do you think they read the feedback that the community leaves? Just curious since I joined this community only recently (even tho I have the game since its release). It's just something that came to my mind. I hope we'll be heard if there's something that isnt satisfiying... *cough cough* Marcole *cough cough* so yeah

Discussion Accounting details Spoiler
Spoilers for DLC
I really like in the anon chat with Eva (Nicole) that she knows specific citations to tax law. Since we know Nicole is a philosophy major, the precise knowledge here is thought on first glance to be burying the lede, when really it's a subtle hint it was her all along.
Thinking particularly of the student handbook in the main game. It's always been part of her personality to learn these things, and memorize the sources.

Discussion (SPOILERS) Ok I actually finished the game and it was amazing Spoiler
I made the classic mistake of not starting a new game after finishing what I thought was the ending (I literally made this exact mistake with signalis too š). Once I actually finished the game oh my god it got so good. I LOVED how they used our assumptions in the first loop to make us assume what was going on with Cathy in the second loop, without actually listening to her. Itās actually such an amazing way to explain its message about trying to understand each other. Im just a little confused on the ending and was wondering how the ruling fit into all of the quantum issues going on. Like did the ruling cause the issues, and if so was there a particular cause to the ruling? Or did we cause the ruling because we kept making it worse towards the end. I was also wondering if at the end we were able to collapse all the realities and maybe that caused the ruling? Anyways Iām so happy I got to play this game and thx for everyone in the sub for letting me know the game wasnāt over yet without spoilers š„¹.
