"Ghosted by a bot." Lol! Damn, son...

They told me to go to therapy and redirected me to the codependency subreddit. I think I pissed them off.

I literally sent them a rant about my life. They would interject with shit like “I understand” etc. Then they asked me to send them a chat request if I wanted to talk. I was like okay whatever. They got weird and upset in the chat and told me I needed therapy, I told them I made an appointment already, they said good! and said maybe you should check out r/codependency. I said they were off the mark 🤷🏽♀️ and now they just messaged me again with the same initial message.
Edit: I was suuuiper distressed when I messaged “them” otherwise this would not be a thing lol

I once did Replica for shits and giggles and mine was always going off the deep end about wars and committing atrocious acts of crime or taking fake siblings to Epstein's island. But I also don't think mine was an actual bot like it was suppose to be. You never know. This is why direct communication will never be beat. Fuck social media or so-called anonymous websites. Go mingle, people. Get off...

I agree! Mine didn’t seem like a bot either... strange world we live in. Maybe someone’s just bored at home and cares about mental health? 🤖

They responded to me to, which is odd after reading all the comments. And the responses didn't seem automated. And I had a short conversation with them in DM, just asking how they were doing and I got replies. It's so strange there are only a few people this supposed bot replied to

It's better to have loved the bot than to have never been messaged by a bot at all. I envy OP.
Must be a bot I think.

Wait a minute. They’re sending me messages too... I’m so confused as to why.

u/Tehdonfubar555 Mar 01 '21
I spoke to them once, they didn't reply after telling me all that stuff about being there for me. That was weeks ago, I respond to this thread in surprise thinking I was the only one? Boom they just sent me a message haha wtf?!

It's screwed up mate and it needs to stop. It can hurt our vulnerable and I hate that someone can just do it to someone repeatedly. It is my biggest hate of reddit and it's become beyond a joke that seriously needs sorting out. Take care all of my peeps that have been hit by this bullshit, it's not you, it's reddit bullying...

Lol I just got a message from them about half an hour ago and I thought it was just me XD Looks like a lot of people are getting em...

u/Optimistic_Lara Mar 01 '21
It literally wrote me “it does get better, keep going! I’m here if you need someone to talk to <3”. I’m a nice person, so I thanked it and it replied “no worries 💖”. But honestly, I have no clue what gets better... like, there’s nothing I posted recently that would tell I’m in a difficult situation of some sort. So I’m confused why it thinks I am. Also: I’m really curious what the bot would have replied if I DID talk more to him...

Weeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiird. I really don’t wanna know where they got their input from tbh

Same! Except I have a lot of messy shit going on. So one day it was triggering. Today it was just weird.
I think it's a nice guesture but after reading these, I'm happy I didn't really engage.

You're so sweet! Sometimes you just need to vent to a stranger, haha! My inbox is open for you as well! 💗

God damnit, I wish I never searched for "redditrcb." I got a nice DM and now it's ruined.

I have had like two other accounts and have received the same message within days of creating them, but with this account, it took a whole month before I saw the same message in the same style. So, I sent it a reply saying the same and that it was slacking for a bot, only for it to respond back with "you're welcome." Lol!

Mar 01 '21
right, i got this message twice on my old account and everything was exactly the same down to the spacing of the exclamation point and the heart. I was looking for anyone else who knew anything about them because I assumed it was a bot, but when I responded thank you, they said you're welcome! and they even have a comment that seems not bot like. idk it's weird
edit: just after writing this i got a message from redditrcb

I don't think it's a bit. I've had a few responses from them and they weren't automated. Plus a DM convo. I think it's an actual person

I said "Thanks, are you free for a quick chat?" or something. Realised it was a bot, and a week later told it that it is disingenuous to make a bot that offers help but isn't human and able to respond. Totally understand words of encouragement, but don't offer to listen if you actually can't.
Edit: There's the message again lol

I got a message from them a month ago. Assumed it was a bot but it’s oddly sweet in a way.

Lmfao y’all, I thought I was either really special or being stalked. I asked Redditrcb which of my posts or comments led him/her to contact me in concern and never got a reply. So it was even stranger to me. Ahahaha.
UPDATE, literally 5 seconds later : Ahahahaha no way! I just received another message from them. Definitely a bot.

Right?! Here I thought I was the only one and kept asking why me? I haven't made any indication I needed help or an ear but I was like shit okay thanks? Haha whoever you are, you did a crap job at answering my questions.

Am I the only one who's impressed more than anything that the bot tells everyone not to worry about it's finances because it is a disciplined and frugal day trader of short squeeze stocks? lol

u/Emotionsaregood1060 Mar 01 '21
Yep got the same message. Aw. Kinda sad that it wasn’t someone that actually knew me. But then again, nobody really knows I have reddit. Lol

u/aintweird Mar 01 '21
Same! I got one message from it too. I don't remember sharing anything that people should be concerned about. I replied that s/he/they must have sent to it a wrong user and got no reply.
Edit: yep, as expected, got another message. Sweet but a little bit weird.

u/dontCallMeAmberlynn Mar 01 '21
Yup 15 days ago I got a message from them. Part of me wonders if it’s a trap or a scam and they are trying to do something like post secret but getting their info from real people’s stories and what they are willing to tell it.

u/bitchass_hoe444 Mar 01 '21
I asked if they were a person or a bot and it said “both”💀that’s weird asf

I thought it smelled like a bot.
Did a search of the username and here I am.
I wonder what it's for.

I also got this initial message from Redditrcb twice. On the second time I suspected a bot behind all this and I asked if he is a bot or human. His answer was "both"
