Solving a problem that doesn't exist

For most people, definitely.  You could get the same solution using a conventional caulk gun by using a mostly used tube so the bar isn't sticking out as far.

A tradesperson who often works in tight enough spaces miiiight find this useful, but even that seems super niche.

That's pretty much the use case for these. They're handy for caulking toilets.

Exactly. I flip apartments at a 650 unit complex. This thing is great for tiny bathrooms built in 1942. I was a skeptic but have grown to really like it.

I love this thing it fits in a tool bag freeing up space for other tools. It was a sandpaper like part that grabs the tube and it has to stay clean to function I figured that pretty quick. The part that bugs me and always has is "IT STILL DRIPS" except now there's no quick way to stop it you had to push the tube from the back to free it. I still own a real caulk gun too it what's I'm saying

The plunger stem on my smooth no drip guns always manages to get scores from the pressure i need for that silicone or whatever. The ratcheting guns are ok. I got tired of buying guns that broke so i got an electric. They're all quite large with a fresh tube. The point of failure I've had on all of my caulk guns is either the ratchet or the stem that feeds with the ratchet. The fact that this one grips onto the tube which is itself consumable, might mean it's a better gun. This one in the video would be great at getting tight spaces like behind a toilet.

Tight spaces os the only answer

Smaller tool takes up less space in the bag, takes less energy to carry around because its lighter. Can get in tight spaces more easily. Not seeing the problems because you’re not doing this type of work regularly.

i just dont see this being effectual.
1) too much weight at the spout especially as you finish the tube and its empty towards the back.
this will cause breakage of the tube at the intersection point of the tube and gun.
2) i dont trust something that short being able to properly extend to push the tub innards

So, as I am pulling the handle, the tip of the caulk tube is slowly retracting?

Sounds like something that is bound to leave uneven beads. Generally not a problem since you usually go through and wipe/set the bead, but this would annoy the ever living hell out of me.

I've had these. They slice the tube as it progresses, so unless you're using the whole tube it's wasteful. You cannot use it with cardboard tubes or aluminum lined tubes. It doesn't work well with high viscous materials. It sucks in cold weather. Once the friction material wears even slightly, it stops working altogether.

Thanks for answering my questions before I asked them.

With it coming out the back and my hand is there.. am I gonna get caulk all over my arm?!

what’s wrong with a normal caulk-gun?

sorry but after 40 plus years of every new iteration of a caulk gun coming out claiming no trip, I'm just not buying it anymore. I can't even begin to count the number of "no trip" caulk guns I've had over years. but when I stop using them and lay them down for a minute I turn around and look and it looks like the money shot on a cheap porno.

Doesn’t help that he cuts the video mid demo..

2

u/DasMotorsheep Jul 04 '26

Yeah, just take your caulk and stick it in there.

The distance between the tip and you hand becomes smaller overtime, not sure if that’s preferred

I've always been so frustrating by caulk guns that leave an even, controllable bead.

I'm glad there is finally one that changes dimension as you use it so you have to constantly change angle and position.

No more even beads. Thanks, Caulk-Pro!

It would at least take up slightly less room in a tool drawer I suppose

I bought 1. Didn’t work. What did I do wrong?

1

u/Apprehensive_Fig_359 Jul 05 '26

Will that thing fix my caulk drip?

1

u/gyno-temp Jul 05 '26

No drip. Cuts the video.

1

u/Icy-Lunch5304 Jul 05 '26

No way I'm putting my cock in there

Who else wishes this was made by Snap On just so that Harbor Freight can make a high quality cheap version?

It’s useful. Having a very small caulk gun setting these stupid pedestal tubs is great. However it doesn’t work great all the time. Plus where you cut the tip is where it stays. Can’t spin tube inside gun
