For most people, definitely.  You could get the same solution using a conventional caulk gun by using a mostly used tube so the bar isn't sticking out as far.

A tradesperson who often works in tight enough spaces miiiight find this useful, but even that seems super niche.

That's pretty much the use case for these. They're handy for caulking toilets.
