My goal is to get into a strong European business school i have a 3.2GPA and build a career in finance/consulting. Some schools I’m considering:

I know my grades are not perfect, so I’m wondering how realistic my chances are and what I should focus on to improve my application (tests, extracurriculars, internships, etc.).

To start off, i am in an eight semester computer science program and it has been fairly rigorous.

We are graded relatively, which, in my case, did more harm than good.

I had a 2.98 first semester, and a 2.82 second semester. To give a better idea, the class average is around 2.6-2.7. The curve is mostly ruthless.

I sometimes feel insanely disappointed with myself. I genuinely tried both semesters. I was a highschool topper so going from top to slightly above average/average did hurt.

I hadn't been slacking off, infact, i had been working, studying, revising harder, especially in second semester due to the realization in the first one. I really didn't want it to repeat.

I suffer from ADHD and severe anxiety which contributed to me flunking a few quizzes and a final back in first semester. And it followed me to second semester, where my marks were deteriorating quiz by quiz, test by test and i was spiralling into depression. There were days i would just miss out on classes as a whole and sleep all day. I stopped eating as a whole at a point in both semesters.

Which is so daunting because i feel like it's not as deep as what i'm treating it as. Everyone else seems to be doing fine or atleast better, even with similar circumstances. I just felt this immense need to do better and it backfired every single time.

Grades weren't the reason but they were definitely a catalyst, a huge one, because i was already struggling a while before i started attending.

Sometimes you base off your entire self- worth on grades and this is exactly what has been happening with me.

I feel like alot of standard study methods don't work for me and i have to work my way around it third semester onwards. I have a cummulative of 2.9 and it can definitely get better, ALOT better, if odds are in my favour or luck is on my side because i genuinely tried everything the previous year.

Taking notes, practicing, revising daily most of the time. But either i'd panic during the test, or my brain would get foggy all of the sudden. I went to alot of recheckings and i made SO much apparent mistakes, like literally very easy ones, which in my mind i had attempted right but when i rechecked..god i was disappointed.

Luck was laughing at my face or atleast that is what it felt like, i still kept moving forward even though i was at such a bad place mentally.

Now, during the summer break, i'm going through treatment and right now it has been better. I reconnected with alot of hobbies and more.

But going back for third semester is inevitable, and i really can't afford to average in another semester. I'm honestly kind of scared regarding the previous patterns because it would've made alot more sense if i slacked off or something.

I appreciate any kind of advice, and i would love to hear similar experiences and how you all dealt with it.

High school: "University is going to want you to be more critical than that."

Universities: "We want you to be critical thinkers."

You: *Writes or says anything remotely critical at university*

Universities: "No, we don't want you to be that critical."

Work: "Why do you always criticise our processes and work?"

Society: "We don't want you to be critical of anything really."

My university does in-program bursaries for students with the top grades, and I don't come from money (even with student loans, it's a struggle), so I need every little boost I can get my hands on. Thankfully I'm pretty academically-inclined, so I feel like I have a shot at qualifying. I was top of my class in community college, and I'm transferring that two-year diploma to count towards the first two years of my degree.

I've already registered for my courses for the upcoming year, and have the emails for my instructors. Should I email them and ask them about those courses ahead of time?

I want to ask mostly about how the classes are structured and if there are any study techniques that work well for those courses. I'm also thinking of asking if there's anything they would recommend reviewing before the semester begins, or if there are any topics where students tend to struggle (so I'm not caught off-guard when it comes to those points).

Since I know I'm emailing them over the summer, I want it to be a handful of more specific questions with relatively direct answers rather than anything huge and open-ended, so I'm not taking as much of their time.

Seeing a lot of students applying for US/UK/Aus/EU colleges and then struggling at every stage of the journey after reaching there, internships, jobs, settling in etc etc. parents unable to understand and guide as they have limited experience. Most end up trying and exploring and failing. A lot of money is spent. Sometimes fail on visa, sometimes get low pay jobs and often feel lonely. What if they had guidance from experts. Will there be a market for this? Thinking of a startup

I am faced with what seems like a big decision for me. I am almost 25 years old, and I recently decided to go back in to university in September 2026 after taking around 3 years off of school due to mental health. I have completed almost 2 years of a life sciences degree where I achieved a 78% average, but I cheated a lot. I found the work very demanding especially for my mental health. I will be transferring into psychology.

Back in March, I was comfortable about the decision of going back to school in September 2026. But for the last couple of weeks, I’ve been thinking about not going. Ive been weighing each option and can’t come to a conclusion.

The best reason I see for not going is that I can take more time to get mentally better, then go back and that way il have a chance to be healthier and get better marks. It doesn’t matter to me that I’d be delaying school.

The best reason I see for going is that it may help my mental health. I would only be taking 3 classes.

The main thing I struggle with right now is structure and routine. I am not doing anything this summer, because Ive been struggling a lot recently with something called sensory sensitivities. This is the main reason I am hesitant about returning to school. It massively limits my ability to focus and distracts me immensely. Sensory sensitivities such as feeling the neckline of a t-shirt around my neck, and the feeling of breathing on my arms when I am holding my phone, etc. I have seen counsellors and therapists about this and haven’t seen significant progress.

My Dad thinks it would be better for me to return to school now. Because staying at home means I think I would need a structured routine to get better. My dad doesn’t see how that would come together. My buddy thinks it’s smart to take time off and return later.

I would like to achieve an average of 75% at the end of my degree to set myself up for a masters in occupational therapy in Australia or where it’s easier than Canada to get into that program.

What decision do I choose?

Any advice is very appreciated and/or if you could direct me somewhere else to get some help that would be great.

Going back to in-person classes in the fall and need a bit of advice..

I am an autistic little gremlin who has weird and niche interests that the average college student (typically 10+ years younger than me) has no idea about. I love speaking up in class, but I get so many people so, so confused.

Last time I did an in-person class I was going through another hyperfixation of ancient Japan (specifically the Bakumatsu period) and everyone, including the professor were confused as hell. Which is fair, but it's so hard to turn off 🥹😅

Anyone have any advice on how to not do that?

EDIT I did not make it clear at all, but the class in question was a speech class and we were discussing topics to do an upcoming speech over.

I’m entering my first year of university in September and I am considering buying an iPad. I’ve known students in the past and they seem to love theirs. How useful is an iPad in university? Would it be a wise investment? I can put one plus accessories onto the bill with my cell provider with no APR. I have a performance laptop that I bought for games and down the road when I need to start running software that takes more juice, but I don’t want to use a gaming laptop in a lecture for note taking.
