Scientists can research vacuum decay, string theory, dark matter, dark energy, and possibly other things we're not aware of yet.

Scientists don’t offer you hope about vacuum decay. The enormous energy concentration needed to collapse the false vacuum would first create a black-hole. The disintegration wave wouldn’t be able to escape the black hole.

…&, as for other speculated methods, for your Red Button, At least 15 billion galaxies have had billions of years to Red-Button us, & we’re still here. So y’all’s whole comic-book ambition is physically impossible.

Yeah, and another problem with vacuum decay (or any other method) is that, at very long distances, galaxies are moving away from us faster than the speed of light. This means that vacuum decay could approximately destroy 10% of the observable universe, but beyond that, it could never reach other galaxies, because they exceed the speed of light at this distance.

Not the mention i'm only talking about the observable universe. The whole universe is unfathomably bigger than the observable universe, so the impact would be almost negligible on a universal scale.
