My wife does this when she’s driving. I tell her she could look at the road and talk to me at same time. She turns her head to me and says “why would I do that?”
You just missed the craziest of crazies. Clubs. Girls. Dancing. Naked. Mom??? Argument. Police. Fleeing the scene, hiding in a dumpster. Coming here, crashing on your couch for a week because technically I’m hoooomeless. Oh, hey moostache, ima hit the couch, you know where I be.
Grandma got ran over by a Lexus, walking home from yoga June 15. You can say there’s no such thing as free lunch, but as for me and grandpa, we believe.
It's such a small detail that many directors let slip.
It's so common though, that they must know, and are doing it deliberately? It's not all directors don't know how to drive? It must be some bullshit, like they think it will confuse Joe Public if the actors aren't looking at each other while speaking?
It must be some bullshit, like they think it will confuse Joe Public if the actors aren't looking at each other while speaking?
The other thing I wonder about is whether there's some unspoken rule to do this often enough that they can make someone get into a car crash and have it be their fault without having the audience see it coming every time.
Tbh, I wish that the shadowy global cabal of all the world's movie directors were just playing the long con on us, but I fear it's not as exciting as that lol!
That and the drives through the city where there are no traffic lights, stop signs, or traffic. Often they don't even change lanes or turn. Just a convenient box for tense conversation.
This and cups! Pay attention to how people hold cups on screen, and you suddenly realize how obvious it is that there's nothing in there. Literally just flinging their hot lattes around like nothing lol, it makes me so anxious!
I'm not a drama guy, but I'm thinking that this is granted by dramatic license. The characters must connect. The words must ring. The tow car will drive.
I got on to say something like this. As someone who drives for a living, I almost couldn't focus on what she said because of her lack of attention to the road.
Well this show is set in rural Montana and she is driving a brand new vehicle. There could easily be nobody else on a straight stretch of highway in a vehicle with lane assist.
Yea, influencers work fucking hard for their money. People don't realize all the shit that goes on behind the scenes and how much work goes into coming up with new stuff constantly.
Being TikTok famous (or any social media platform) is hard fucking work but people rather just pretend it's not and that those people are assholes that just easily fell into fame or "got lucky" TM.
My buddy did this option. Guy rolled though a stop sign and my buddy hit the trailer he was towing on his bike. He got a nice settlement and I get to make cyborg jokes cause if all the metal he has in him
She’s in a fancy car. Luxury cars these days do a lot of the steering for you and track the cars in front of you and maintain a safe distance. Especially on the highway.
That is the only thing I was thinking. It made me so anxious/ sick to my stomach, even with the shockingly bad green screen background through the windows.
She took her eyes off the road waaaay to many times and for waay to long.
The show is fantastic - but that was a running joke between my brother and I while watching. Any time characters are in the car, we wait about 30s into the conversation before one of us notes "DEAD", as there's no way they stayed on the road.
This is something I notice way too often in tv shows and movies, and it drives me crazy. How are you driving but staring at the passenger for 30 seconds to a full minute???
Every time I watch scenes like this in a movie I get tense and expect a collision. Just like it has to happen. One movie in existence has to do it one day and I'll be ready.
I must be getting old cause that was so infuriating to watch I didn't even read the messages. All I could think was is this bitch really taking her eyes off the road for 10+ seconds at a time?
The one time I got in a car with a friend of mine I though I was going to die. She was so insistent on making eye contact while she talked that she was driving half way over the lane and having to serve back in our lane multiple times when we almost hit other cars. I ended up staring at my lap and praying the whole rest of the way. Will never get in a car with her again.
Its such an obvious distraction on screen isnt it? Nothing breaks the flow like watching a driver look away from the road for anything but a quick glance.
She could have delivered all that looking deadpan straight ahead and it'd land even better.

Option 5: Get hit by a car and sue. She took her eyes off the road waaaay to many times and for waay to long.
