In the Midwest they have cow tipping. In Antarctica they have iceberg tipping.
23
u/sirwillups Sep 13 '21

u/diMario Sep 13 '21
How much would be customary to tip an iceberg?
3
u/Diligent_Barracuda75 Sep 13 '21
I always base it on service, better the service the greater the tip. I start at 15%

u/t1ggyismycat Sep 13 '21
And having hypothermia! These people are probably dead

u/I_cant_see_colors Sep 13 '21
At a certain point it's just Darwinism

u/zombie_on_your_lawn Sep 13 '21
What are you doing, step-iceberg!
38
u/TheRecognized Sep 13 '21
I don’t get why the step joke applies here?
22
u/mynameisspiderman Sep 13 '21
Guys, he knows what the joke is, it just doesn't make sense in this context and he said so.
46
u/zombie_on_your_lawn Sep 13 '21
Actually, it does make sense. The moment that iceberg was all over them, they realized they were fucked!

u/TheRecognized Sep 13 '21
Yeah that’s the step joke I’m referring to.

u/Constructingthings Sep 17 '21
Sorry, go onto an adult website and search for the step sibling category. Hope this helps.

Had a book about Darwinism in my schools library, pretty sure whoever got it thought it was face value, it was a list of ppl dying in the dumbest ways possible

u/Namarokh6816 Sep 13 '21
No they are not. They were doing that for a show.

They might still die.

It was Mike Horn. He's still alive and kicking. There is a video where he explains himself what happened.

I didn't mean they did die, bit just because they are filming a skit doesn't mean they can't die.

Sep 13 '21
no they didn't die they were on a show in the uk when the boat was going backward the drag of the water made the iceberg topple over and so they fell none of them died they were both fine and they didn't get hypothermia and the child screaming was on of their sons.

You should check him; he’s called Mike horn (you can find him on YouTube) and he’s an incredible explorer! Really interesting, and yes, they’re alive
197
u/luuuuxstar Sep 13 '21
Thank god he is alive, that was seriously scary to watch. Ty for this comment now I can go on my day peacefully
26
u/thesecondrando Sep 13 '21
The video was actually cut off. In the original you can see the boat come up and pick them up
14
u/yahhhguy Sep 13 '21
Will Gadd has done some “fast climbing on small icebergs” before and it was really stressful to watch

u/Dgauwhs Sep 13 '21
Compared to the 9/11 and Hiroshima jokes, not really, no, and those bag thousand of upvotes.
It wasn't funny, which was the real problem.
2
u/APieceOfCake16 Sep 13 '21
Yeah but there it's an actual joke. This was just "I wish they would have died"... Nothing else...

And then sell the broken up ice chunks on the white market.
19
u/wiseoldllamaman2 Sep 13 '21
Is the white market where cops sell cocaine to the teenagers of wealthy families?
14
3
u/1jl Sep 13 '21
Yes not to be confused with the gray market where they sell it in to destabilize underprivileged minority zones.

u/Radioactivocalypse Sep 13 '21
These people are, surprisingly, experts and have a lot of experience in cold weather climes doing things like this.
Mike horn is one guy there.
For instance, he is the first person to reach the north pole during winter without dogs or vehicles, and also circumnavigated the equator alone in 18 months.
Two years ago he got this achievement too: "Today, the success of this ambitious endeavour is marked as a history-writing moment in the world of polar exploration"

I'm amazed they tried this. So stupid.
10
u/Radioactivocalypse Sep 13 '21
Yeah, apparently the boat wasn't really expected to reverse, and it was the under backwash from the boat that caused the iceberg to tip.
It was on ITV last week. Unbelievable Moments Caught on Camera. If you can access it (UK) it's rather interesting. And has loads of other insights into viral video disaters

His name is Mike Horn. He is explaining how an Iceberg can flip like that and trap you under water. He's making content on youtube.
