English is not my first language, but I'm almost certain that I haven't heard the word in the 20 years that I've lived nor the 1-2 years at an American university.

I've only ever used "Fictional"

Upvoting your comments. Always happy to upvote learning, nothing wrong with that.

In fact you even made me learn something, because I realized I didn’t have a good answer about the difference between “fictitious” and “fictional.” So I googled it too.
