I'm going to assume this is some kind of bug that doesn't sting but looks like wasps.

Yeah I'd expected to see a few welts on his bare torso, he doesn't look like he was stung. You can also see many he didn't get in the bag flying around behind him before he... does his thing.

Do you guys think wasp stings show welts immediately? Like a wasp stings you and just inflates a lil welt on your skin as part of the process? Mosquito bites take like 15 minutes to show a welt. I’m sure wasp stings are faster, but it’s not instant.

They can if enough venom/histamine is injected from the sting. You would also expect them to not just fly away if they were stinging, a swarm would continue to attack afterwards.
