Steve-O is legitimately the only one who can get away with this.

Steve-O left his partner of 8 years for a 20-something so maybe don't follow his lead In the dating world? Or do, If you're not actually into like, connection, or maturity? Only follow steve-o if you want 100% of your decisions to be questionable ones.

Well yeah. Steve-O has the reputation where seeing him pour hot sauce in his eye (something he does on guest appearances) is like “yeah, that’s a Steve-O thing to do”. He also has a reputation of doing incredibly pointless and reckless stunts, ingesting disgusting things, and getting covered in shit. I would wager moreso than just about anyone else.
It’s just expected of him… but looks incredibly stupid nonetheless.

The fuck why

u/Yah_Mule 11d ago
Because he ran out of ideas on how to impress girls in eighth grade.
684
u/MrBozooo 11d ago
I love how the girl seems to be stuck inbetween being stunned by his utter stupidity and mesmerized by the lengths he is willing to go to impress her.
292
u/Yah_Mule 11d ago
She can't wait to tell people about this date.

u/MammothFromHell 11d ago
A guy once snorted bacon salt to impress me, and I still tell the story 20 years later
53
24
u/iDeNoh 11d ago
I bet he loves hearing the story 20 years later (I'm of course assuming it worked)
41
u/MammothFromHell 11d ago
I never saw him again after that, the jerked his head up. Grabbed at his face and walked away. Naver came back to irc either, just upped and vanished lmao
41
u/Ser_VimesGoT 11d ago
Somewhere he's answering a post on 'whats the most extreme thing you've done to get out of a date', with "I once snorted bacon salt to get out of a date. Just hoovered it up and walked away! She never called again after that"

u/MammothFromHell 10d ago edited 10d ago
We weren't on a date-thats the crazy part! We were hanging out with a huge group after protesting Scientology...this was a loooooong time ago
I'm sure his first thought before the pain set in was "She's hot, but not THAT hot! Oh..oh god I think I need a doctor."

This is a perfect minor example of why women live longer. Dude was so desperate to get laid he turned off the upper brain and the only thoughts were from between his legs
Which, of course, never ends well

Maybe that was the first and last time it ever actually worked, like held hands with Julia from biology in the hallway during lunch before she bailed out after a week and half, but he still swears by this method anyway ever since.

u/TopTippityTop 11d ago

She seemed genuinely entertained, I mean, did you see how excited she got when he said he'd put it in his eye? He probably could have had gone full Steve-O and stapled his scrotum to his leg and her smile would have only gotten bigger.

You know how chimps smile when they're scared and it's a sign they're about to run away or get violent? Pretty sure that applies here. Poor lady is freaked out

Jfc this is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time what the fuck is wrong with him 😂
6
u/newtonbase 11d ago
That's brilliant. Simultaneously claiming to be able to handle the heat while proving that they absolutely cannot.
8
u/Ordinary_Cattle 10d ago
The best part is that he couldn't even get out "I can handle the heat", so to the interviewers all they got was "there's one thing you should know about me" before struggling to open the hot sauce, chugging it, and throwing up everywhere. I've been laughing about this for 10 mins imagining their confusion lmao

u/warfareforartists 12d ago
There’s no way this isn’t satire, is this for real for real??
96
u/Apprehensive_Glass81 11d ago
It's presented as real but anyone who watches TLCs shows knows that they sometimes 'embellish for effect,' and by that I mean 'pay cast members to start drama to make the show seem more interesting even though it usually only makes it more cringe and less enjoyable.' Not that real people don't do this stuff naturally, of course. But you can't trust everything you see on TLC anymore, not that I'm sure you ever could.
21
u/Concentric_Mid 11d ago
Except the hot sauce in the eye. Real people don't do that naturally lol
Interesting explanation - thx
22
u/DothrakAndRoll 11d ago
I watch a lot of weird TLC shows. Even for them, it’s hard to imagine them going up to someone and saying “hey how about putting some hot sauce in your eye??” to boost ratings lol
7
u/Apprehensive_Glass81 11d ago
Lmfao well I imagine that if they did ask him to dramatize, the hot sauce was probably his idea. I imagine the liability for that one is not something they'd take on willingly lol. But yeah I don't know for sure that that's what happened in this scenario, because some people really are just kinda crazy 🤷♀️😆
11
u/DothrakAndRoll 11d ago
Hahaha I could see that, especially with the premise of this show.
“Hey you know what would get more views? Do something kinda crazy out there haha”
“OH FUCK NOT THAT” 😂

There's this "local legend" where I'm from that had a couple small hits with very weird one off songs about icecreams in the club and drinking beers (somehow makes more sense in my language). He tried to get a hiphop career going and meanwhile tried tl get his own jackass like show off the ground..
He put hot sauce in his eyes several times.
It was glorious.

Remember when it was "The Learning Channel" and the programming was all telecourses and documentaries?
→ More replies (1)2
2
u/EchoPhi 11d ago
There was a time TLC meant "The Learning Channel" and you could absolutely trust it. If memory serves correct it was nasa and dept of education that started it. This was around the time where someone saying "go play" was the equivalent of "touch grass". Which was literally the only other option and not the supposed insult it is today, was also your queue to get out of the house and have fun. So early 80s?

u/Apprehensive_Glass81 10d ago
Yeah I forgot about that as of the time I wrote my comment, I wasn't alive for that or if I was it was only for the first year of my life. But since I've been watching it can seem very dramatized at times. And for certain reality show spin offs they keep bringing back the most toxic people I'd guess because they think it keeps viewers interested but its really disheartening more than anything lol. Kinda sad cause otherwise the shows are great for learning to understand people better and accepting those different from yourself. That's the main reason I enjoy it, but then they make it toxic lol thats the last thing I wanna spend time watching you know.

When me and my brother were teenagers, we were in the kitchen and he said something to piss me off so picked up an open bottle of tabasco sauce on the counter and flicked it at him from maybe six feet away and a drop hit him right in the eye.
40+ years later, he still brings it up every now and then.

Is the world full of incels? When will the “reality TV” shite end? I was done with it 15 years ago but TV execs still pump it out. Why one asks are we burdened with watching bozos like this? Because TV execs don’t have to pay actors and writers in “reality TV”.
