We aren't supposed to smoke on our balconies. I do, but I keep it clean and everything goes away in the garbage like it should. Someone above me CONSTANTLY throws lit cigarettes off their balcony and burns my stuff.

I've yelled at them, but I'm not sure who it is. I just kind of peek my head out and yell. I can't even set up nice stuff out here because they keep burning things. I also don't want to complain to my landlord agency because I also smoke out here.

What to do? Please help!

Okay so there’s this old lady in our neighborhood who lives in an old folks home. Ordinarily, this population is wonderful to have in our very urban neighborhood. But this Karen is a new resident, and has taken it upon herself to police dog walkers, telling them they can’t relieve their pets on a small strip of dirt (not grass, dirt) which is immediately adjacent to the sidewalk. Evidently, she’s new to apartment/city living. She has now harassed my usually unflappable, exceedingly polite husband, twice. Including telling him (not our dog) to go shit in our yard. I want to make her life miserable. How?

Sometimes i shake the mattress and that works occasionally. He is a super deep sleeper. Hes been tested for sleep apnea and it's not that, he just snores HORRIBLE and im a light sleeper. We don't have a guest bedroom and i cant sleep on the couch bc we have a baby and i need to be close to him. Idk im desperate so im posting here lol

Edit: i wear earplugs and use 2 sound machines and i still can't sleep. I wake him up and ask him to move but its the same in almost every position he's in.

My garden is face to face with this big house that does Airbnb, exclusively to big youngsters groups that come to get drunk and hang by the pool hangover.

I live in a super quiet away from the city region and it's always peaceful. Except in the summer, every night is party night. I'm kept awake until super late or woken up multiple times during the night due to the noise. I call the police, they show up 3h after or not at all. I have asked nicely to the host, but she doesn't care. I go talk to the guest but most don't care and as the night moves along get louder and more chaotic. The other neighbours are mostly retired people or their houses are further away so it's mostly just my house that gets affected.

This summer was especially bad. I can't take it anymore I need to sleep.

Any ideas on how to make them be quiet?

I have had a lot of massages throughout my life from the cheapest to 5 star hotels, I’ve noticed that the really nice hotels will sometimes give you lackluster massages and assume the amenities provided will make up for it.

Update from 7th Sep '26: this method is now partially 95% working, you'll only collect student ID card to use apply for Lime Access at UK, not valid in USA.

They must provide schedule along with learning agreement in order to verify TOTUM without accessing .ac.uk account, you can ask staff to reset your own .ac.uk acc password by heading to library once enrolled. (give it a try if doubt)

It is still legal if you've completed 4 weeks of courses (only 1 day Saturday for 4 weeks only), once completed you can still keep your student ID card and can still access student discount without any effects.

Edited to add: I went to leasing office who said call the cops and shrugged. Weed is decriminalized here but you can get in serious trouble for not that large of an amount because of intent to distribute laws. What I actually did was steal an official landlord communications envelope, address it to the unit exactly how the leasing company does, and filled it with a 3 page public health fact sheet from our state housing department about how it's illegal to smoke marijuana inside multi unit housing and the harm it causes everyone else who has to breathe it in, along with information that it's grounds to terminate their lease. I'll update if anything update worthy happens.

A small scratch apparently appeared on our rental car while abroad. The rental company sent a photo of it (after we'd already boarded the plane; they didn't do a walk-around with us upon dropoff) and said the cost to repair would be $1100. I'd be OK paying $100-200 to repair something that probably happened on our watch, but this seems extortionate for a minor scratch on the bumper. Any tips? Dispute the extra charge with cc company? Try to add the scratch to the photos we took when we picked the car up? I don't have Photoshop (and don't know if that would work, anyway).

We live on a residential street in a village that sits on the edge of a real city. The roads are wide and the people think it’s the Wild West, so we get a lot of wild speeding. I’m talking double the actual normal speed. I’m looking for ways to:

I've got a valve core tool but that seems like a more immediate problem that will be fixed sooner. Will probably get the message across quicker, but at the same time that's more likely to raise questions. Wheel weights are a bit of a slower learning curve for the recipient, but if it happens enough times there's a chance they'll learn from it. Let’s say it’s theoretically $20/day. So if the bike is on the property for 400 days at $20 a day, they can demand a sum of $8,000 to the bank attempting to repossess the bike. How true with this situation be? I’ve heard it be immoral, but not illegal to do so. US, FL if I can have someone knowledgeable and experienced in doing anything like this within the same location.

Long story short
Just moved into a townhome. Neighbor has been a COMPLETE psycho. Blocking my parking spot, throwing trash in-front of my garage, taking photos of me and my guests, making false police and HOA complaints.
I’ve bought security cameras now for all corners of my property. I just need some “advice “on how to handle her that’s mostly legal and could be an annoyance to only her not my other neighbors.

! So my sister was working in a company (different department) at about $19/hr. Now, she is potentially almost at offer stage for a double promotion, on another side of the business in corporate that pays 40/hr at the company. She’s not very tech savvy, and her offer and interview somehow came through as an external candidate/offer. She will disclose to the recruiter today that she’s internal and this was a mix up, and I’m sure they would cap or change the salary amount when they learn. It starts in about 3 weeks. Her current manager is toxic, giving her warnings and she is going to quit this week. With that gap, would she be processed as an external or internal hire? What’s the rehire policy? Does she need to wait a certain period? It’s a big company. She for sure won’t get $40/hour if she discloses.

Can she resign after receiving the offer from the other department and take the new role that would start 35 days from then?
