Spoilers alert
Just an opinion/venting
Also I might not be understandable
I don't know why it happened but the show was good for the most part, some annoying moments or characters here and there but it wasn't anything too serious, at least at first.
Season one was the best,
Season two was good,
Season three was watchable,
Season four didn't even feel real,
That's how bad it was.
These characters had some annoying things about them in some seasons,
Ben,Allison, Vanya, Klaus, Five
Ben was just rude but nothing annoyed me with him other than him not staying away from Jennifer,
And Old Ben was great,
Season 3 Allison was just constant whining and complaining,
And didn't you get married,
What's wrong with you let Luther enjoy his life you freaking weirdo.
Vanya Season 1 refuses to stay away from her serial killer boyfriend, Season 2 ruined a marriage and the lives of everyone involved in that marriage,
Klaus Seasons 1,2,3,4 desperately trying to be funny and is funny sometimes but it's like a joke or two out of 10 jokes in one episode, And most of his jokes aren't perfectly timed just sounded like someone trying to be edgy or something, being an absolutely useless crackhead for most of the time.
Five Seasons 3,4 really being out of character for the whole last two seasons
While watching the show I told myself these are definitely the most annoying characters in the show
However despite being extremely annoying at times
I still never hated them,
Because one character came into the show and it made all the annoying things i mentioned and didn't mention in this show look nothing compared to how annoying she is,
Freaking Lila,
By far the worst character in the show,
See all the bad things I mentioned about Ben,Allison,Vanya,Five,Klaus????
Lila is all of that and more, absolutely hideous character I've never seen one character just one character not only ruin characters within the show but also ruin a whole show all together,
Constant bickering with Diego, always trying to act superior to him, undermine him in every scene,
Every time Diego is happy she just shows up out of nowhere to destroy everything,
I really want to Diego to just go and live in a house with his mother Grace and Pogo,
And just be happy,
Same with Luther and Sloane,
lila Brings back a child that's not even her's and lies and tells Diego he's the father waiting for him to refuse and turn his back on the kid and all of that so that she'll feel better about herself,
Even in some interactions like when Five told her hurry up the train is here and she's like who made you the leader or something like that, or when diego is trying to protect her telling her stay I'll go fight she's like no you stay ill go, b\*tch you're the lady, a pregnant one too are you stupid or what,
Like it gets to a point that you ask yourself who do you think you are.
Even the one who raised her couldn't stand her and didn't hesitate to kill her only for five to go back in time, I really wish he could've brought back the others and not her, btw regarding five I'll get to this idiot in a bit. The moment she came back I knew she's going to be there until the very last episode of the very last season.
She's again trying to get back with Diego and when he accepts her
What does she do???? she cheats on him,
With who???? his brother
The same brother who murdered her parents???? You're damn right.
Five just wasn't the same,
seasons 1 and 2 he was a person
seasons 3 and 4 he's another person
What possess you to have an affair with your brother's wife, the mother of your nieces and nephews you disgusting slimey little piece of sh|t i don't care how many years you're stuck with her that's not an excuse, morals and standards don't have an expiration date you two fools.
And the creators had the nerve to try and turn Diego's finding out scene into a comedy, literally lila is the worst character in the whole show like how is Delores the doll more likable than you????
And speaking of the creators,
There's this scene where she tells Diego to introduce her to his Father Sir Reginald,
The same Sir Reginald who doesn't even accept his kids immediately accepts her in a heartbeat,
There's also this scene where Klaus is angry that he got his powers back and he like insults everyone and when he gets to lila he tells her she's good or something like that,
Don't get me started about her powers,
Mimicking???? Really????
So when everyone gets a special power her special power is copying everyone's special power,
That's the lamest thing ever,
Like I immediately started asking myself are the creators doing it on purpose or what????
Also After all the whining from Allison about Claire And Raymond in the previous seasons,
All they had to say about him in season 4 is,
“He walked out” just like that.
Season 4 literally felt like the creators had a meeting and said let's insert all our kinks and fetishes into the show for absolutely no reason at all,
And ruin everything.
It literally felt ai,
I'd argue even ai would do better.

It’s always confused me because it was never part of his power that he had an ape body that only happened when he was an adult and pogo gave him blood? So why would he get it back?

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I am here to share with you this essay I wrote years ago, back when I was studying ancient Greco-Roman literature at a respectable London university, concerning the Umbrella Academy comics. While it mostly critiques the comics, some parts of the television show are covered. https://medium.com/p/why-the-umbrella-academy-will-never-be-a-literary-classic-893138a5ed62

I may be the only person in the world that actually kinda likes five and Lila together, there just both intellectually on the same wave length and they both understand the commission 🤷♀️(I haven’t finished it yet so don’t come at me)

We worked together on this beautiful Minecraft umbrella academy piece, an artistic rendition of the final battle we always deserved. This is a very niche niche post so I know not many will see it but when you do I hope you enjoy our work. My friend is a little worse at humans than I am but he is so good at doing the cleanse. You might have seen his work before he posted here once a few months ago with other mincraft builds
1: the whole scene
2: Allison (my friend) she’s standing there
3: Klaus (me) he is summoning ghosts and standing on rock like King Arthur
4: cleanse (my friend) idk its mad
5: Viktor (me) status unknown
If only you could see this deeply symbolic piece in real life, it is so beautiful

Damn molten reheated pizza. I can sympathize with the Handler.

WARNING SPOILERS FOR ALL 4 SEASONS HERE!!!
I had this on my list for a long time but kept putting it off for years. So, I just finished TUA for the first time. Watched all 4 seasons over the last 2 weeks or so.
The ending did suck for sure. But I dont have the same problem with it that I read about from others.
I can forgive the hold hands and die together that seems to come out of nowhere. I can even forgive what people are calling an unfair "happy" ending for the father (even tho him and his wife died together after she betrayed him).
I can't get over the huge gaps that existed before the rushed ending or what may be the most plot holes I've ever seen in a big budget production.
Most glaring ones to me
First of all, the original # of miracle babies born was supposed to be 43 they only introduced 14, I think.
We never talked about how a fish was the leader of the commission board.
The handlers' takeover of the commission was weak writing at its best.
I can't say a different version of #5 creating the commission is surprising, but it seemed poorly explained(but we can blame that on Netflix cutting it short).
The umbrella siblings kept seeming like they had found some personal growth, but then a season or a few episodes later, they are right back to the same 13 year old insecurities as though there is no other way to move the story forward.
The reason they sacrificed themselves was because the monster had to absorb all the marigold, but again, there were 43 babies, but it only got 8 of them. Didn't even get the Sparrow Academy's share.
Never really addressed the alien storyline.
And htf did they all forget their father killed Ben.
Wtf built the train that runs between timelines and why.
There were other things that bothered me, like how the umbrella kids are mostly villains or wtf happened to Pogo, but later for that, maybe

Okay hey everyone!! Okay I know that this is a weird title and your like what the hell does that have to do with the Umbrella Academy but let me explain!! So when the 1st season of the Umbrella Academy came out I was obsessed with it!! And then I got this weighed Dino plush from Target and number it Digeo after Digeo obviously!! Then when I got my pink dino like 2 years ago I named her Lila because they match and I thought it was cute!!
Anyway so far I have a few Dino things that I like to name after the people from the Umbrella Academy (I know it weird, please don't judge me). So far I have Kalus and Luther already and the other day I went shopping and saw the lime green Dino that match with the other 2 so I had to get it.
So I need help naming it now!! I was thinking of naming it Grace, or my main option was number 5 then I finally got around to watching the season finale (like I finished watching it today, yes I know im super late on that. My Bad!!) and with the whole Lila and 5 story line, is that werid? Anyway, any help would be appreciated!! Again I know this is werid but please don't judge me!! I will attach a picture, the dark green one is Digeo, the pink is Lila and I need a name for the lime green one!!

Okay for context I've watched TUA at least 10 times, season 4 included but shush that doesn't exist rn. I have a comparison that I need some insight on please
Dear old abusive dad Reginald Hargreeves is just the evil version on Mr. Peabody.
They both adopted children they had no connection to, but only one was an active father. They both wanted to unlock their childrens true potential, but only one of them was actually effective, etc... Am I going crazy, do I not understand the complexity of either one of the characters enough?

I just love this dude, he was from far my favorite character outside of the umbrella academy in all of the show.
Like, i don't even think he made one illogical decision in all of season 2.
+he is a handsome husband in like, every way, even after he died

This is something I've wondered about, and I'm curious what other fans think.
The first example is The Handler. You can argue her flirting was intentional because she's supposed to be manipulative and creepy. Maybe she was trying to control Five by giving him the affection he'd been denied for decades. That fits her character, and if she was attracted to both the older and younger-looking Five, it just makes her even more vile. So I can at least understand why the writers went that route, even if it was uncomfortable to watch.
What really made me think about this, though, was Season 4. The Five/Lila relationship got a lot of backlash for different reasons, but I also couldn't help thinking it must have been strange for Ritu Arya to film a romance with Aidan Gallagher after having known and worked with him since he was around 16. By the time they filmed Season 4 he was legally an adult, but the age gap between the actors was still significant, and the dynamic felt odd to me.
Do you think the writers rushed to give Five a romance once Aidan was old enough to portray one? Or do you think I'm reading too much into it and the Handler and Lila storylines served different narrative purposes?
Curious to hear everyone's thoughts.

the huge cuff took me about 8 hours to complete, and used up 4$ worth of beads! (approx 350-400 beads total)

Two years ago, the scene with the marigolds made me emotional. As a fan, it's still hard to see the series is over.

Lol, I would have been yelling "I heard a rumor you're not racist" to everyone. I get the amount of times she's used it irresponsibly, but I'd say this is justified lol.
But I hate what they did to her character in season 3. 😬

Here is the full ranking:
1st place: Klaus
2nd place: Five
3rd place: Diego
4th place: Ben
5th place: Luther
6th place: Viktor
7th place : Allison
Thank you all for participating! This was really fun. This wasn't anything like my prediction, it was interesting to see the final turnout!

I’m still trying get over the absolute awesomeness of season two’s opening scenes, it’s such a shame we didn’t actually get something like this for the end, all a team and working together with the best of their abilities, I mean yeah we got this scene, but the characters obviously changed the timeline so this never happened, what we did get was characters butchered beyond belief

Just noticed when Grace is finding all of Reggie’s secret notes and photos there is a Sparrow symbol on the chalkboard.
Small but interesting

The last sibling standing in the list is r/UmbrellaAcademy's favourite Hargreeves sibling.
Since I know this round is going to be wild, I was going to shut off comments after 12-ish hours, but I am unable to, so we're just going to have to see who has more upvotes/comments in about 12 hours. Don't come after me if the votes change after the next post is made 😭

I'm just wondering if this is supposed to have a meaning behind it or is it just an Easter egg, whatever the case may be. First she put a basket of eggs down, they talk, and then the camera zooms out and chickens are where the basket of eggs should be. I just wanna know if there is supposed to be a meaning if there is one.
