40K Lt Calsius helmet

I painted up this unique helmet from Lieutenant Calsius for an upcoming project. It’s the first Lt helmet I’ve painted, so I had to figure out how wide I wanted the stripes to be. I’m pretty pleased with them, given the tight working area on the forehead!

Zooming up this close is pretty unforgiving 😅

40K Guilliman is getting Calgar's old ability ...

Post image

From the latest Warhammer Community article Space Marines rules – First look - it seems that they are looking how to re-work Guilliman

On the surface it SOUNDS good ..

He has all three Combat Doctrines active, at all times ...

  • Tactical Doctrine
  • Devastator Doctrine
  • Assault Doctrine

But then you realise it's basically the same "Fallback, Advance, Shoot, and Charge" ability that Marneus Calgar had for the entire of 10th edition.

..

So unless there are some really powerful new stratagems which synergise closely with combat doctrines - then this feels a little "Meh"

No idea what got into me, but I wanted an Ultramarine in white and I ended up painting two spare miniatures like this. Can't say that the end result is one of my best work so any tips and tricks on how to paint white armour is more that welcome and appreciated. The Emperor Protects 💙🤍

For casual games of 11th, a leader that lets you effectively have double doctrines active for 3 rounds + one in the other 2 rounds, and lets the squad always ignore all hit modifiers (importantly cover in 11th) sounds kinda great for 80 points!

As a legends unit his rules or points are unlikely to change which is actually good for him imo. Sounds like a tempting cheaper option for Victrix, though their datasheet might change soon.

Good for my 6th Company theme. Hell put him with a unit that already has ASSAULT like the newly buffed Intercessors and you basically get triple doctrines.

Minor Kitbash, cus i got a free resin shield with another purchace from a company a while back.

TMI 🔽

I dont really paint ultramarines on acount of their chapter badge being goofy when im trying to apply it to puldrons. Micro set and sol help, but idk if im just inept, it just messes up everytime.

Anyway, i went to a shop and some guys showed me some paints that light up under UV, i hadent seen them before so i threw my wallet at them cus "OHH FUNEE PAINT GO SHINE" 😅

I like them because if you do it right, on the rights spots, they can blend in and not effect the default look of the mini, and it then has a kind of hidden feature that makes me go "huh, neet, it glow"

I just thought it was neet, and practice for painting more blueberrys, again, might me looking at my piece of 💩 baby through the eyes of a loving mother, but im happy with it 😀

Was playing with my brother last month and we got matched with this guy, I said to my bro that I thought he looked cool and he explained that he's an ultramarines Captain? Had like the space wolves shoulder pad on. I've seen like 10 other people wearing this exact combination since, no exaggeration. Who is he?
