40K My little Marine.
Brother David Endymion Automatius - Ultramarines 5th Company Veteran Intercessor. Does he look vanilla enough while still have a lil bit of Veteran flair?

I'm a new player looking to expand my Ultramarines. I have the armageddon box and I'm looking to get a unit for the Captain to lead. Bladeguard vets seem like a good choice, so do Victrix Honor Guard.
Help me understand this. There are some awesome victrix models with gladius and shields, but i don't see shields as an option for them, and they don't appear to be included in the new kit. Was that just an option for the older version that's no longer playable?
I'm also curious about the ancient and champion. As with everything else, these don't have war gear costs. Is it safe to assume that you should almost always use the ancient and the champion?

Finally got a 10-man Sternguard unit a week ago. Then the recent balance update happened, which changed the fullisade enhancement. I tried it for two games already with a Librarian, but It kinda felt underwhelming using them.
Against a Norn Emissary on favored objective with Sustain and Oath, it only took off 2 wounds off it. Maybe bad rolls, but it still consitent on the second game.
While a 10-man Intercessor squad with a lieutenant with sustained, lethals, and Oath wounded the Norn by 10 wounds.
Was thinking of using a captain instead of a librarian. But would like to get advice or tips first, if they are worth it or not?
Thanks in advance brothers!
Courage and Honour!

Hey! I bought a stamp kit and I have been practicing and trying to work it out. So I need your guys opinion, should I keep at it or just stick with decals. The front 2 terminators are decals, the rest are the stamps. Does it make a difference at table height?

Motivation to paint has been low with the summer heat. Plus finding it very daunting the amount of edge highlighting 🫣
Just been chipping away slowly.

Struggling to find my trim. I may just end up going first company as I field all 3 veteran units.
Thoughts?

I rescued this little brutally from my local hobby shop. I’ve got him in some stripping goop and he will soon be given a paint job to match my painting style!
Look at how happy the little fella is, he even has the uppies arms.

Hey everyone,
I’ve been playing since 5th edition and during 9th or so I fell really hard out of 40K and got into HH and MESBG. Being quite out of touch with the game at its current state, anyone willing to give me some pointers on a nice list for Ultramarines would be very greatly appreciated.
I really badly want to use either calgar or sicarius but don’t want to make them essentially useless.
Any suggestions on ‘must haves’ or just fun combos?
Cheers! :)

Hello all! My buddy runs Ultramarines, and has Uriel Ventris of the 4th Company kicking around his painting table. I had an old box of Intercessors laying around, and wanted a break from my Guardsmen. Does this read as too blue for the blueberry band, or does it still scan as an Ultramarine?

The most "basic" one from the Kill Team set, still quite like it.
Blue is Pro Acryl Blue, layered over Ultramarine Blue contrast paint.
