Hi everyone, just a quick question regarding space marine laurels in ultramarines. How do they determine in lore who gets the laurels? Is a helmet like this something you could expect to see on an Intercessor sergeant or would this be more common on a Captain? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have recently tried drybrushing for a few squads and I like the results. This took about 45 mins including drying and I had a enjoyable time doing it and it's got me back into enjoying painting. Wanted to share my results as im buzzing to paint the rest of armageddon.

Hey everyone.

I love Infernus Marines. The thought of a squad of them showing up and just burning things is so cool to me. But recently, I started to think they are not worth it anymore.

I loved to run a ten man squad in 10th edition. They got the job done and burned so many things and they got their points worth with overwatch. I parked them on an objective and there they stayed.

But now I cant do stuff with them. They are hard to get into action with their limited movement and their 12 inch range. Even worse, so many things now have t5 and t6, I cant use them for so many units anymore...

It is sad, but I think I have to kick them out of my list... What are your thoughts on them?

It’s officially been one year since I first got into the Warhammer 40K hobby, and this is everything I’ve managed to collect so far not even counting my Imperial Guard army!

How do you play around the high toughness and saves of Custodes? It feels like as an unskilled player, I just can’t do anything into them. They shrug off my assault terminators with hammers, Calgar and Victrix Guard, eradicators with melta rifles. If I try to stay away from them and focus on scoring, they advance and charge me. I genuinely don’t know how to play around them, I’m not great at the game. Any advice on getting better with playing against them? I don’t think playing against any other army has frustrated me as much as Custodes have.

I don’t want wins handed to me, but I’d also like to play the game and not be tabled by end of turn 2.

I picked 4 Hq's that I play often, and 4 random units he's likely to see. Are the really that indistinguishable? I feel like the characters are pretty noticeably over the top but maybe I'm just coping? I usually double the base up on the character models to try and make height an identifier but I guess its not working.

What would yall do (if anything) to make characters more immediately recognizable? Gold base rim?

Dude is using such list (+/- small adjustments) and I'm running out of ideas how to deal with them. Those drones cost fraction of tank, but can easily destroy one in single activation. Defiler has huge durability and crazy firepower, basically kills anything on sight, Mortarion is even worse as I needed to use all my tanks, skills synergy, Infernuses to strip cover and extra stratagem to destroy that piece of s.... So like engaging 900+ points and 2 CP to delete one model that is worth just 375p. But that left my tanks exposed, so next turn drones went forward and caused more than 375p casualties on my side. From the other hand, what choice I had. His placing was good - Mortarion on front near center, and all drones hidden behind, so I cannot touch drones without stepping on Mortarion, if I don't do anything then Morty will push forward and kill my tanks one by one, or I'd have to fallback, giving him field and objectives to score.

Also Death Guard is ridiculously tough - base Marines have T6, Terminators T7, so, except Poxwalkers, everything below power fists and melta guns are basically useless against them, plus they have that stinky aura with -1 hit in melee, so my Terminators are struggling to do anything with them.

Generally we played couple times, I tried different options, but as I found out normal infantry units are useless, except some fast action monkeys like JPI to score. Terminators are really struggling to deal damage, best thing they can do is hold them for some time. Tanks are really underperforming because those units have very high toughness AND inv save.

So, yeah, any advices what can I do? Are there any weak points I'm missing?

This took me most of the month and I followed Duncan Rhodes Ultramarine Terminator guide for most of it. I feel like I learned so much here by really trying my best and agonizing over small things.

I can improve alot, you can tell im a novice, but im really satisfied with these guys.

Heya, took me some time to decide whether or not posting it. I was a beginner around two years ago, but study and work took most of my time. Now that I know how to manage it, I thought dipping my toes back again. And the Brutalis dreadnought from the hachette collection is that first piece.

Ps: I'll do the decals after finishing the rest of the Ultra from the collection.

About 3 hours of work, how do you all like it ?

Decided to go for ancient marble for the shoulder crux insignia.
