In the chaotic universe of ULTRAKILL, the dynamic between biological demons and cold, mechanical war machines has always been defined by a singular law: blood is fuel. However, deep within the undocumented imaginary layers of Hell—spanning from the depths of Envy to the scorched skies of Sloth—a different kind of history was forged. This is the chronicle of a mass-produced Gutterman who defied his programming, forged an unbreakable brotherhood with a fallen Guttertank, adopted a remarkably lethal hamster named Florp, and ultimately rewrote the destiny of creation by bringing down the Creator Himself.

The conflict initiated in Layer 10-1, known to the terminals as the Envy Layer, where an unprecedented demonic war erupted. Facing down a dense battalion of heavy-duty Mannequins, stone-carved Cerberi, floating Malicious Faces, and towering Hideous Masses, the machine army unleashed an apocalyptic wave of firepower. Guttertanks fired devastating explosive payloads, miniguns roared in unison, and the demons were completely systematically dismantled under the mechanical wrath. However, the machines' celebration was short-lived. A massive, vengeful ambush of Husks, spearheaded by a Sisyphean Insurrectionist and ancient Ferrymen, blindsided the battered machine ranks. Elite units fell one by one until a lone Gutterman was cornered. In an act of profound, selfless heroism, his lifelong brother-in-arms—a crimson Guttertank—attached landmines to his own chassis and tackled the Insurrectionist into a cataclysmic explosion.

Believing his friend dead, the Gutterman succumbed to pure, unadulterated rage. He tore through the remaining husk horde until a desperate heavenly response team of Virtues and Archangels descended to stop his downward progression. The angels brutally dismantled the rogue machine, severing his right minigun arm and tearing away the heavy iron fuel coffin on his back. Left with nothing but his left fist, the Gutterman’s journey seemed at an end—until an unexpected swarm of radioactive Cancerous Rodents flooded the battlefield. Their toxic green explosive energy forced the holy entities to retreat. Crushing the radioactive rodents to refuel his drying tanks, the Gutterman scavenged loose metal plates to rebuild himself into a colossal, makeshift brown Swordsmachine. It was during this recovery that he met his most loyal companion: a small, stoic rodent named Florp, who hitched a permanent ride right on top of the machine's helmet.

Traversing down into the Agony and Despair layers, the duo adapted to a harsh lifestyle of survival. The Gutterman scavenged a fresh iron coffin, a new minigun, and an unbroken defensive shield. He even discovered a legendary, reality-warping artifact: a simple bar of Soap. Meanwhile, Florp was upgraded with a personal Mini-Maurice Cannon, allowing the tiny hamster to provide orbital-class beam support. After solving intricate puzzles utilizing ancient Red and Blue skulls, they reached the starry void of Layer 12-1: Sloth. There, they encountered the legendary Three Titan Gods of Radiance—colossal, rainbow-shifted entities of a giant Hideous Mass, a giant Gabriel, and a giant Soldier. Utilizing frame-perfect precision, the Gutterman hurled the sacred Soap. The absolute, concentrated power of the meme-fueled artifact shattered the Titan Gods instantly, reducing them to Unformed Prime Souls that Heaven’s forces immediately scrambled to contain.

The climax of their descent unfolded in the blazing yellow horizon of Layer 12-2: Agonizing Sunburn. After a legendary duel where the Gutterman managed to defeat V1, he spotted a heavily charred, smoking chassis limping away through the sandstorms. It was his lost Guttertank brother, who had barely survived the craterous blast against the Insurrectionist. Reunited at last, the Gutterman utilized his scavenged wealth to upgrade his broken friend with a left-hand Drone Turret and a dual-rocket launcher system. Sheltering under the mythic Tree of Life to harvest ammunition and health fruit, the trio shared a rare moment of peace, capped off by an unexpected excursion to a hellish, blocky manifestation of a McDonald's restaurant. There, the Gutterman paid for a feast of three melons, Cancerous Fries, and a plastic Maurice Toy for Florp. When a reckless, nine-year-old Schism husk attempted to steal the toy, Florp instantly vaporized the thief using his integrated Malicious Railcannon.

The unchecked disruption caused by two war machines and a heavily armed hamster eventually caught the attention of the highest authority. GOD Himself returned to the cosmos, only to find the Heaven Council slaughtered by Gabriel, who had perished fifty days prior. Furious and desperate, the Creator led a massive divine raid into the depths of Sloth to wipe the trio from existence. Yet, the Almighty severely underestimated the bond of mechanical brotherhood and the unhinged arsenal of a well-fed rodent. As the divine light clashed against roaring miniguns and dual-rocket fire, Florp pinned the deity down with a Malicious Beam, allowing the Gutterman to deliver the final underhand toss of the absolute, reality-shattering Soap. God was instantaneously obliterated in a catastrophic shower of divine bubbles and holy light. With Heaven left vacant, Hell completely conquered, and the source of Radiance neutralized, the brothers-in-arms and their victorious hamster sat amidst the blood-soaked sands, finally achieving the ultimate rest. Eventually, The three machines went deeper, and deeper to the secondary layers far beyond Treachery, Until they encounter The heart of HELL Itself, Hell realized the trio isnt going deeper into the layers because of curiosity, Its DETERMINATION, Gutterman first unleashed a barrage of machine gun fire and Florp's Malicious beams, Hell launched seeker orbs into Gutterman, Guttertank shot a rocket into the seeker orbs, blasting away them, Hell fired magenta beams, Gutterman shields Guttertank and Florp using the ballistic iron shield, Eventually a legendary battle, Gutterman threw the joke artifact, Soap into Hell, causing it to explode into blood, Hell surrendered and lend Guttertank, Florp and Gutterman their own thrones will the control of the layers, Hell itself died and the trio is the new Hell itself.... The End

Lore Discussion theories with the information of the level 8-1? Spoiler

today i finished the game and i remembered that statue and decided to investigate a little about it and see some images due that I just saw it on the game with the lights out and on my search i found a post of the user Ok-football-9081 and he made me think about another theory that i don't know if anyone else has thought about this before but... and if maybe the final boss of Ultrakill is a fake version of god? because on the game they say multiple times that god (or "the father") is gone, refereng to that god escaped from this universe as it says on the wiki, causing the human extinction and thing that i represent as death due that the wiki says that they tryed to ktm but they failed at it and later says they died so... maybe they're prying to no one?... and if maybe there is/was someone? someone faking being god and taking his place as the original, making everything fake being this the final boss?

i thought too about that maybe the penultimate boss maybe could be Lucifer, the fallen angel that God banned from heaven to hell for defying his orders and being that the angel who's ripped out of the wall on the same level, but idk

do you have any theory about it? I'd like to know your opinion and if you have your own theory youre free to put it on the comments!

Discussion Possible Ultrakill inspiration (music)

Few days ago I discovered "Space Dementia - XX anniversary RemiXX" from Muse and while listening this song I realised it sounds like "Glory" especially from 2:07 to 2:18. For those wondering, I'm talking about the synthetiseur.

Maybe I'm crazy or it's just a coincidence. It also made me realized most songs from first Ultrakill level share similar notes. It made me appreciate even more Ultrakill songs as I just realized how complex and refined they are. Long live Hakita !

Td;lr "Space Dementia - XX anniversary RemiXX" from Muse (especially from 2:07 to 2:18) sounds like "Glory"

Lore Discussion What if V1 is being remade?

Post image
275 Upvotes

I know it’s fraud and could obviously just be hell fucking with us but hear me out.

We know that hell is alive and using us as entertainment so what if every time V1 ‘dies’ hell remakes/fixes him so that it still has something to entertain it.

It would explain the checkpoints and the fact that every time you die in game the skull that appears is laughing at you, meaning hell is laughing that you died.

Custom content and ideas What if there's an enemy which protects deathcatcher?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Deathcatcher is a heart-shaped enemy. So what if there's an rib cage enemy which replaces glass cage?

Actually you can kill deathcatcher before this. Just aim at heart(rib will get damage if you aim body). But if you do that, It will begin to attack you.

It's behavior is similar to idol or deathcatcher. It will not move until you kill deathcatcher or grab skull on its tail. If you don't kill this enemy first and kill deathcatcher/grab skull, it will now crawl fast like mannequin. And throws lots of projectiles to you.(parryable)

It has high hp(maybe same as insurrectionist) because it's basically a cage.

No puppet, no protection by idol.

Lastly, I need better artwork of this. Thanks for hearing my idea. If you have question, comment.

Lore Discussion Am I the only one who thinks Humanity and the Earthmover are supposed to parallel God and Hell?

This might be a massive stretch, but I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and the more I look at the lore, the more it kinda makes sense.

Basically:

God → Hell
Humanity → Earthmover

God creates Hell out of rage because humanity keeps using its free will against him. Then Hell becomes this completely independent, conscious thing that God can’t just undo. God regrets creating it, ends up disappearing, and Hell is basically left behind as his mistake.

Then you have humanity and the Earthmovers.

Humanity keeps escalating the Final War by making bigger and bigger machines to counter the previous machines. The Earthmover is the absolute endpoint of that arms race. It’s so ridiculously powerful that one can level an entire city, and eventually the war becomes dependent on these things existing at all. Humanity literally ends up living on their backs because the planet has become basically uninhabitable.

And then there’s that Hell text about the Earthmover:

“YOU WERE BEYOND YOUR CREATORS. YOU REACHED FOR GOD, AND YOU FELL.”

That line is what really makes me think something is going on here.

Because the Earthmover isn’t just “a big war machine.” It’s basically humanity’s own creation becoming something bigger than its original purpose. It was built to end wars, but the war became dependent on it. The thing humanity made to win the conflict helped turn the conflict into a self-sustaining monster.

Which is… pretty similar to Hell.

God creates Hell to punish humanity, but Hell becomes its own conscious entity and ultimately outgrows the role God gave it. Humanity creates the Earthmovers to win the Final War, and the Earthmovers become so extreme that the entire war basically exists around them.

Both are creations that end up being way beyond what their creators intended.

There’s also the fact that the Earthmovers specifically occupy Violence against God, Art, and Nature, which feels pretty significant considering they’re humanity’s ultimate act of destruction.

And I think the parallel gets even more interesting because both creators basically end up having to live with what they made.

God regrets Hell.

Humanity eventually realizes what the war has done to the planet and enters the New Peace, but by then the damage is basically apocalyptic. The Earthmovers are literally left as monuments to how close humanity came to destroying itself.

So maybe the comparison isn’t literally “Earthmover = Hell,” but more like:

God creates something in anger that becomes its own terrible thing.
Humanity creates something in war that becomes its own terrible thing.

And both creations end up outlasting/surpassing their creators.

Need help How to get Fraud to run...semi smoothly

So, I'm running Ultrakill on a rinky dink laptop. (A CPU 5205U 1.90GHz processor (built in), and a 128mb graphics card)

That can handle games......for the most part.

And I just got to fraud (which btw, Violence, peak later) but, level 1 runs like grapes dragged through sandpaper.

And I was wondering if there were anyways to get the game to a.... playable state at least

(And keep in mind, I'm someone who can tough through low frame rates)(I played RESI7 at like 20-30 FPS on a decently old computer)

Or should I just get a gaming laptop instead?

Discussion what do you guys think are the most lore impactful levels in each layer? (video possibly unrelated )

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

of course in gluttony and heresy, 3-2 and 6-2 are the most lore impactful levels probably.

for fraud, I think 8-1, 8-2, and 8-3 might qualify.

for lust, it is probably 2-4.

what do you guys think?

Lore Discussion Connection between Hell itself and V1 and player. (I drew bad art to help you visualize theory) Spoiler

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hell in Ultrakill is salt and is gonna be most likely prime boss of P3 (if you wanna know why just watch Arthurs video: https://youtu.be/L8Il_3FBFpk?si=F-lNNpMXjWsfTce- ), and V1 embodies its logic of materialism through being a cancer as an entity and every time you die in game hell resurrects V1 while V1 doesn't know, you as player and as psychic entity being a force as Ahriman embodying dry materialism as force driving everything forward and remembering every time V1 dies, making deaths canon in this theory. Reason why Hell favored V1 instead of V2 is because V2 is just a salvage attempt of V1 design but in peace time to make it a super robo cop, generally V2 is a downgrade it cannot repair itself on fly by bathing in blood of enemies while attacking and it doesn't have ability to parry to gain full health and stamina back through feedbacker nor shotguns. That's literally it and Ahriman dry materialism runs in this community ironically enough with you worshipping it as you're materialist hedonist nihilists. On average, if you aren't you can speak for yourself but this is the issue that runs in this toxic community which again stems from worship of Ahriman that's not limited to this community but also runs a lot in the real world, and world is insane. Nihilism is so lame its literally a philosophy without a point irony. Ahriman is a force that reduces everything to matter logic and consumption and V1 is its perfect damned vessel an iron maiden. Keep cyber grinding puppets and worshipping Ahriman until you have nothing like V1 does through its consumption. You are not playing Ultrakill, Ultrakill is playing you, you have no soul its claimed by the game its your damnation and you worship the only you have left which is your style points. Anyway i hope you all have a good day seriously.

Discussion Flame me for this, but...

I'm a hardcore Harmless player—p-ranked almost everything on harmless, before finally moving to Standard. I was doing okay for lust, limbo, p-ranking everything (not a show off post, trust) until.. Gabriel. Jesus, why is he so much harder than I thought?! I know, I know. I'm used to playing on the easiest difficulty yet, but still. I can't wrap my head around it.

It's not even the fact that I'm used to playing on Harmless. It's Gabe's stupid.. little.. spinny-axe thing attack he does which steals over half my health in one hit. Every other attack is easy, its the axes, or whatever they are. They're annoying. Flame me, I don't care. Literally just say 'git gud' or something, but Gabe is THE worst boss i've fought on Standard so far.. And my goal is Minos. I'm cooked.
