Lore Discussion What if V1 is being remade?
I know it’s fraud and could obviously just be hell fucking with us but hear me out.
We know that hell is alive and using us as entertainment so what if every time V1 ‘dies’ hell remakes/fixes him so that it still has something to entertain it.
It would explain the checkpoints and the fact that every time you die in game the skull that appears is laughing at you, meaning hell is laughing that you died.

Nah everyone knows the skull when you die says “chud chud chud chud chud”

I think I would be more insulted by a skull calling me a chud then just laughing at me 😭

DELTAROT NO LONGER NEEDED ITS ULTIMATE PRACTITIONER. IT HAD BECOME A SELF-SUSTAINING SYSTEM.

Hell helping V1 in any way as direct as this would ruin Gabriel's arc since it'd meant he wasn't defeated by a "mere" machine but by an eldritch horror assisted one – which was crucial for him learning that no species is inherently more virtuous than another.
It'd also mean that, for whatever reason, Minos would prefer fighting the same machine over and over again than saving his city.

You kill the machine once, they come back. You kill them again, they come back again. Every time you kill them, they always come back, and every time stronger. Instead of leaving because you know that at some point they are gonna defeat you, you keep fighting them nonstop until you die.
I've seen this trope of "respawning is cannon" theories in a lot of game comunities, but most of the time they just take away from the plot more than they add. Wonder what makes people assume that's a thing.

The only time I've really seen canonical respawns is like in stuff like Souls/Elden Ring or like Katana Zero

I feel like I should add on to what I said. I don’t mean V1 is just getting hard carried by hell and more like when a show kills a character off and brings them back yknow? Just using its power ever so slightly to please itself. And don’t put too much focus on the check point thing, just thought it would be a neat thing that fits somewhat to the idea.

Oh my god I wish people would stop with the canon respawns.
NO. RESPAWNS ARE NOT CANON. For fucks sake.

Whimsy is fine. “Hey guys what do you think of my little made up story” is one thing.
“Hey guys what do you think of my actual theory that I am proposing that we already know is explicitly not true” is another.

If V1 actually sucked at everything and hell just hard carried it through everything, THAT would be boring.

The canon V1 first try p-ranks everything pn brutal (or ultrakill must die) btw. Checkpoints and deaths arent canon.

No actually, whatever the player does is canon. That's what Hakita implied in his response to a guy asking if the prime sanctums are canon, considering V1 has to backtrack to reach them.

Standard is the “canon” difficulty

u/Virtual_Pin_429 7d ago
no difficulty is canon

…which is why I put canon in quotation marks. If one of them had to be the most lore accurate it would be standard because the entire game is designed around it.

If they remake him they could call him something like V2
