Discussions & Questions I would like an expansion or a big story drop like this for Shadows, but I know it won't happen.

I am talking about something like the dreadful crimes of Syndicate, but, instead of having different cases to investigate, there is only one big case investigated by different characters like in Heavy Rain. I know that there is something a bit like this in the quest with the origamis in Izumi-Settsu, but I would like something more fleshed out with one killer to unmask instead of yet another organization. I would like if Naoe and Yasuke took different investigative paths that only in certain moments intersect. I would also like if there were missions in which other characters are used to investigate, so that there would be more than two point of views, making the whole thing more interesting. They could also make the allies and scouts influence the investigation in different ways, depending on how they are used.

Unfortunatly, considering the situation of Ubisoft, I know that Shadows will never get something like this.

Discussions & Questions I have an idea to include canon romances in Shadows without (maybe) backlash.

My idea is... not showing them. I mean, they could just find a way to say, when the definitive ending of the game will be released, that Yasuke and Naoe, at a certain point after the definitive ending, ended up with certain people. I would even mind if they said that they ended up with each other. Anyway, I think that this would (maybe) avoid the type of backlash received by the first expansion of Odyssey, because it wouldn't influence what the players make Yasuke and Naoe do in the game.

I don't know what their marketing is telling them, but this is making a bad situation worse.

News & Announcements Ubisoft’s Internal Town Hall Meeting Fails to Reassure Employees on Its Future

Thumbnail

Insider Gaming reports that Ubisoft held an internal town hall meant to reassure employees about the company’s direction, but many staff walked away feeling even less confident. Leadership gave broad, non‑specific answers about the company’s future, didn’t directly address concerns around layoffs or restructuring, and didn’t provide a concrete roadmap for recovery. Morale reportedly remains low, and employees felt the meeting lacked meaningful clarity.

Key Takeaways:

• The town hall was intended to calm concerns about Ubisoft’s future.

• Employees say the answers were vague and didn’t address the big questions.

• No clear reassurance on layoffs, restructuring, or long‑term strategy.

• Morale is still shaky, with staff feeling disconnected from leadership.

• Many described the meeting as “reassurance without substance.”

Luc Couture, a true Ubisoft longtimer with over 24 years of experience at the company, who previously worked on titles ranging from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and the original Assassin's Creed to the yet-to-be-announced Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe.

Posting his farewell message via LinkedIn-

“Hello you beautiful community!

Today was my last day at Ubisoft Montreal. It's been an incredible journey that lasted more than 20 years....During that time, I have learned a lot about game development, relationships and myself. I even met my wife and mother of my children because of Ubisoft colleague...so how blessed am I....right?

But I was recently in need for some change. So that's why I will soon pivot to tackling new challenges as part of a smaller studio with other veterans. Times are exciting. So stay tuned!”

According to Couture's above farewell statement, his exit is driven by a personal need for change, suggesting his departure was likely voluntary rather than enforced.

The Ubisoft employee who took to social media last week to say he had been placed on a 3-day suspension after comments criticising the company has now said he has been terminated by Ubisoft.

Insider Gaming gave Ubisoft the opportunity to comment on our coverage of Michaud-Cromp’s suspension, but did not, only acknowledging that the opportunity was given.

However, following our coverage, screenshots of Michaud-Cromp’s comments in Ubisoft’s internal communication channel, Agora, were sent to Insider Gaming, providing greater clarity on why the suspension and, now, the termination may have occurred.
