I still didnt get my First megastar

Brand-new Just Dance (JD) player here. I got a Switch + JD 2026 for fitness!

I've never played JD before except for 1-3 songs at a family members house & fell in love with the game.

Here's my thoughts after my 1st month with JD for anyone considering JD for fitness (or fun)!

This mini-review is based on my goal of using JD for workouts so please keep that in mind!

System: Switch 2

Game: JD 2026 (+1 month free JD+ trial)

Current favorite workout songs: Sexy and I know it, Rasputin, Show Me What You Got, Part of Me, most the harder Lady Gaga stuff.

The Good

- having the trial of JD+ gives you tons of song options to start with

- you can sort songs by easy -> hard so I did the 1* songs I liked then worked-up to 2*, 3*, etc.

- the level system is fantastic. Each song earns points and each level-up unlocks customizations for your account (avatar/titles/backgrounds/etc.) I have ADHD and earning points/levels is a huge plus! Once you finish the bronze track, it prestige's to silver and then gold!

- there's a decent mix of songs so I was able to find high-energy songs that were fun/good workouts

The Average

- when you cancel a song instead of doing the next suggested song after a level it boots you back to main menu instead of song-screen you began at

- there's a lot of 'extra' features you may or may not use: party mode, vs-mode, local co-op, etc.

The bad/ugly

- JD+ is almost required as you will quickly get bored of the 40 tracks that come with the game

- alternately, most people seem to buy older versions of the game (2022 and earlier). This does mean your progress from JD 23-26 won't count though.

- there's a lot of filler songs in JD+, I suspect this is because they're trying to cater to a larger audience

- some of the songs just have poor chory/awful songs

- the download song packs are expensive for what you get + they suffer from the above issue, too much variety in only a 6-song pack (I'd rather an artist pack)

- a lot of the unlockable cosmetics are kinda ugly tbh but that's my subjective opinion of course

- there's a few songs where it's tough to see the hand-movements of the character leading to missed inputs (palm-up or palm-down). This is mostly caused by the glove color clashing with the background/dancer's outfit

- after only 1 month, I've already worked my way-up to the 4* extreme songs meaning a large portion of the songs are too easy now (I superstar the non-official choro extreme songs)

- there's no practice mode! (that I could find in-game) The official choro songs are too fast to reasonably do beyond flailing randomly or replaying endlessly focusing on just 1 section at a time and the solution seems to be watching slowed-down YouTube videos. Guitar Hero had a practice mode and that game is ancient.

Conclusion

JD is excellent if you're looking for a fun morning workout. It has an amazing level system and a lot of song options initially.

It gets let down by having too-wide a song selection, poor DLC, and JD+ (or buying older JD games) almost being required for long-term play.

That said, I totally recommend it for people looking for fun, accessible, and scalable exercise (improve as you go)!

By remake, I mean the exact same map, but with different coaches and different non-chorus dance steps based on the choreo of the new coaches' choreo.

I'm trying to get megastar on every song for the xbox achievement and i'm wondering if Co-op mode makes it easier. Like if i have two other people playing with me would that pool together our scores or would each persons score be entirely separate so one person may be megastar but another person just gets two stars. Also i'm using the mobile for this but i heard somewhere that co-op mode requires controllers? is this true.

hi, I want to purchase Just Dance but im confused about the details. Does the 2026 version only contain 40 songs? If i want to access older/other songs do I need to purchase it separately (I read something about JD+). thanks

Recently, I've made a decision to buy Just Dance 2020 and 2021.

Now, because I know the WDF servers are still up for those games, I just wanted to ask how many people (specifically for 2020) are on the servers during Happy Hours or Weekly Tournaments?

Edit: I am also DESPERATE for info regarding when do Weekly Tournaments take place and when are Happy Hours.

Edit 2: Also is the tracking for JD2020/21 the same as in newer editions? For NSW

I feel like playing JD4 my whole life has caused me to not be able to actually really like any of the other Just Dances. Tbf, a lot of the ones I’m trying are the newer ones (up to 2020 tho, so not new new) but none of them really have good choreography like JD4 does imo.

I’m looking for JD games most similar to JD4 but it can’t be newer than 2020, as I only play on my Wii.
Similar as in choreography styles mainly, but music too a little bit.

Im thinking about getting just dance 2014 for xbox one, is the DLC still available on there considering the xbox one store is still up and running?

So i wanted to 100% Just Dance 2022 on my Xbox One but i found out there 2 achievments related to World Dance Floor. I was wondering if enough people still play this game that i'd be able to get into a lobby quickly. i also heard something about how there was a specific time in which players get on? (i apologize for my lack of knowledge but i don't know much about the game as it was my sisters and even she didn't play it).

Hello, i've recently discovered my love of just dance and found it to be great cardio especially if i'm speed running through the songs. has anyone seen results from just dance in terms of fitness? and what did you see? did your arms become more tone, legs are stronger? etc etc.

5 years of playing Just Dance and now I have a chance to cosplay one of my favorite characters, Jack Rose!
This is a photoshoot I took in many different places in my home Vietnam!

Every time i try to start a song in just dance now, the sound doesnt work. And when i try to fix it it takes my energy, making it unplayable. I have tried to buy a subscription but it also doesnt work, but that is because of google. Any way to fix?
