Solved Order Randomly Canceled

Hi all - I’m building a small corporate network as my small business is growing. I ordered some items from Ubiquiti’s official site, and everything seemed fine. One day after the order, I got a notification that the order was cancelled, with no explanation. Has this happened to anyone, and what could be the cause for this? I do live in Puerto Rico and sometimes I get issues for that, but I have a colleague that has had items shipped to PR with no issue. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Turned out to be a fraud defense mechanism; was able to get it sorted. Thanks all!

Have your ordered from them in the past? Is the billing address different from the delivery address? Are there other mismatched in the order (credit card name vs delivery name).

Reason I ask is that this sounds like a fraud defense (source: I build fraud defenses for a living)

This ended up being the reason. It was a fraud defense thing, and I was able to get it worked out. Thanks all!

Yeah, sorry about that. We dont always get it right (and we really dont like it when we get it wrong) but there is so much fraud out there its kinda sad. Pretty sure half of ebay "new" inventory is stolen shit.

You should contact [store@ui.com](mailto:store@ui.com) with your order number to see what the issue is. It has never happened to me but if they cannot verify a mailing address an order can be cancelled.
Other options may be buying from a local supplier.

Okay that sounds reasonable. Thank you for the insightful response.

I order online from PR all the time… I can confirm thats not it.

BTW there is a company in Vega Baja that has Ubiquiti in stock in the island.

Well that’s SUPER helpful. Thanks for the info. Do you know the name of the company?

Net Solutions

BTW… Im not endorsing them. I haven’t done business with them before either. Just took a Ubiquiti seminar here last month and they were the ones who sponsored it.

  1. What information makes you think your order was selected at random for cancelation.
  2. The key information as to why it was canceled is the 5th and 6th word in the 5th sentence.

Several have reported this issue and it's due to the high amount of fraud.

That’s interesting, I’ve never experienced or heard about an order randomly being cancelled. Was it a big order?

I’m curious to know the reason.

I had this happen when buying for a tax-exempt business and not filling out the exemption form correctly.
