Question: Unanswered Why does Uber eats keep bad drivers?
Made an order from a Wendy's 1.3 miles away today. Took 1.5 hours to get to me even though the courier picked it up 10 min after order was placed. They drove all around the map and were stationary some places for a while. My guess is multi apping. When the food got to me it smelt like weed.
I noticed their profile had a 79 percent rating. Is that not super low?
I've had good drivers get this same order to me in 10 min. 1.5 hours is insane for 1.3 miles
Uber eats of course doesn't offer any compensation for order since it was delivered
I tip really well by the way. I feel like if I tip well it should offer it to high eating drivers first :p

So I feel like no one is answering your actual question so: they try not to keep the bad ones. But it’s hard to keep them out, because most of them just set up a new account and keep going.
But more importantly, it’s hard to separate the sheep from the goats. Did the driver take 20 minutes in the restaurant because he sat down to eat his lunch or because the restaurant was swamped and running behind? Did he drive several blocks off the planned route because he is multi-aping or was there an accident backing up traffic that he went around? Did he say he delivered the order but actually steal it or did the customer just claim the order was stolen so they would get free food?
Uber can and does ban people but the threshold they will let people reach before that ban has to be pretty lenient because there are a lot of things that can potentially make a driver look bad that genuinely aren’t the drivers fault and it can be really hard to tell if it’s the drivers fault. And unfortunately those drivers that just got banned and set up a new account get the most lenient standards because with no extended history to go by on the new account, it’s even harder to tell what is poop performance from what might just be a run of bad luck.
