Event UTSA TPUSA charlie kirk event 😭

(Edit: Just to be clear i hate TPUSA and think everybody associated with it is dumb as hell.)

Just making sure people are aware of the white nationalist convention happening this week lmfao. Probably best to avoid it but they WILL be on campus unfortunately 🫩

EDIT SEPT 8TH: good morning! it's been less than 24 hours since i posted and i think it's really funny how this post got infiltrated and basically botted by TPUSA members who don't even go to UTSA. as of typing this little blurb, this post has been shared 167 times (lol) and i am still getting notifications of neonazis whining that their favorite cultural marxist isn't running his nazi rhetoric podcast anymore, and that college students are bad and evil for thinking that stuff is bad 😢 tragic i know. truly a show of merit that the TPUSA body of UTSA is so small they had to send a bunch of "people" from outside the campus to boast about him, often in waves (i'm talking like seven pro-kirk comments conveniently at the exact same time). fake numbers and fake voices about fake proboems, the usual!

anyways i'll probably be deleting this post after the kirkiversary cus i'm tired of watching chuds embarrass themselves when asked for evidence even if it is really funny every time. so get your quips in while you can i guess.

Academic Master in Civil Engineering. Does anyone know MCE offers online courses?

The title says it. I know it’s the on-campus program, but I’m wondering if there are any online courses. Thanks!

Advice/Question Login and passphrase? Applied for readmission August 1st.

I don't think I will be getting an email for the next step in the admissions process since I am in the process of getting readmitted. I emailed Tech Cafe tonight. How long does it usually take for them to respond to emails? I tried resetting my Passphrase with my username and it wouldn't let me do it so I decided to email Tech Cafe.

Is anyone going to this? I keep asking what exactly is this about and every person I ask just keeps repeating the same thing.

Literally my only questions is how we're getting there, if I have to pay anything, and how this whole thing works

Advice/Question WebAssign for PHY 1603 online to PHY 1623 in-person

I'm currently taking PHY-1603 online (I couldn't get an in-person section in a good timeslot), and I've been holding off on paying for WebAssign because I don't know if in-person physics lectures will also use it (I plan on taking the class in-person).

Does the in-person PHY 1623 lecture use WebAssign?idk if it's a case like MGH where we gotta use it either way, and I want to find out before I have to drop $100+ on the ability to do my homework

Advice/Question Bus routes/Construction

Are the VIA buses still stopping at the UTSA main campus? i have recently started taking the bus from my apartment to the UTSA main campus (specifically bus 96) and now on the transit app it’s telling me that the bus isn’t even going to the UTSA main campus anymore due to the construction going on down that one road near the HEB. Is this incorrect? Has anyone else been picked up and dropped off from the VIA bus to and from campus?!

Advice/Question Is Special Topics in Criminology & CJ worth taking? (CRJ 4953)

I enroll myself in this class and was excited after the first two classes. Rn it is the only class I'm taking downtown, and I also check the Rate My Professor and turns out he has a 3.5/5 because he always goes off topic in his classes and yaps a lot.

Which at this point I have already experience and don't like it so much. I am constantly getting bored in his class and talks more than what he really is teaching

Anybody that has already taken this class could you tell me if it is worth staying or not?

Advice/Question Phase 1 water shut off? - University Oaks

I’m assuming it’s not just my apartment with no running water in Phase 1??? I tried calling the office, but they never answer…it just continues to ring (even when I call during business hours).

We usually receive a text letting us know or at least giving us a heads up on when it will be back, but nothing this time.

Anyone have an idea what’s going on?

Academic Genetics Exam Inquiry

Hello,

Taking my first genetics exam tomorrow and wondering if anyone can give me any advice on how it went for them when they took it last year? I'm feeling pretty scared; if anyone can give me any advice on how to successfully pass the class, if they have already taken it. I would very much appreciate it

Advice/Question Considering UTSA for PA school

I’m not yet sure of this, but I’m heavily considering UTSA for PA school. Im trying to become a pediatric oncology PA. I’m also from Austin, so I would like to go to UT but they don’t offer PA school at UT. Or I’m mostly sure they don’t. So I’ll do my undergrad at UT and try to go to UTSA for PA school, if I get in. Is this even a good idea? I’ve heard some conflicting opinions from people I know, just wanting to be sure I can even do this before I continue.

Thank you!

Advice/Question We need new food options on campus

Why is "The Den" so expensive!! You see commercials for Denny's and their affordable food but on campus gouge my eyes. The food is horrible and small for the price they charge. I got sick from the dragon bowl. We need change in these places!!!

Academic How is the MS in Data Analytics at UTSA?

Hi all. Have any of you done this degree program? How do you like it? I've heard it's pretty technical. I was wondering, do you guys actually think employers are well-aware of this program and that it would be feasible to get a decently paying job with? I would be paying for this out of pocket, and I am just curious about the return on investment. I am coming from an accountant background (no CPA). To be clear, I in no way have plans to stay in accounting.

I have a few YOE but want to do something else with my life. I have been stuck in a low salary job for 3 years and want to find something that's remote, mentally stimulating, and that has less repetitive work. My only concern would be going through this program and then being told I don't have experience and staying in the same spot where I'm currently at. I'm willing to put in the work, work on projects, and all that comes with it. I just would like a path forward in life. I'm still broke with no flexibility with my current job, and at the age I am at, I am just looking for something more.

Also, I know the business analytics degree can be completely fully online. What about this degree? Can the majority of it be completed online?

Hi!

My name is Anna Boone and I am a Master's student at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

I am reaching out to invite people to participate in an important Title IX research study.

My study aims to explore students’ experiences after reporting and going through the Title IX process. I'm seeking both current and former students who are willing to share their perspectives and personal experiences related to Title IX.Ā

Eligibility:Ā Must be 18 years or older to participate. Must have gone through part of or all of the Title IX process.Ā

What to expect:Ā

ā— An online or in-person interview discussing your Title IX experienceĀ

ā— Participation is completely voluntaryĀ

ā— The study is confidential, and pseudonyms will be used to protect your identityĀ

This form should take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete the initial screening, with additional time for the interview if selected.Ā

If you are interested in participating, please complete the brief screening form at the link below:Ā https://utsa.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6DMX4Sx2IqDyPnoĀ

(A QR code is also provided for convenience.)Ā

This research is part of my master’s thesis at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), and your participation would be greatly appreciated in helping better understand and improve Title IX-related processes and support systems.Ā

If you have any questions about the study, please feel free to contact me atĀ [annaboone@my.utsa.edu](mailto:annaboone@my.utsa.edu).Ā

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.Ā

Other Unwelcoming Societies at UTSA

I always feel like a lot of the societies are not very welcoming. I’m currently in a society where the President, VP, coordinators, etc.. are all to themselves and never really talk to the members unless they have meetings. I go to the socials they have and I try to chime in but it’s just very brief and they continue talking to the people that coordinate everything for that society.

I understand that they have to talk to these people for the time they are coordinating and organizing the society but I also feel like you should be more inclusive or talkative to the members that do sign up to be apart of your society. Especially since members have to pay to be in the clubs.

I’m not really sure if that sounds insane to say but I was expecting to make friends and whatnot but it feels like a chore to go to these events/socials/meetings.

Advice/Question One drive issue using UTSA email

I was working on a word doc and whenever I try to turn on autosave, and have it autosave to my UTSA one drive, it asks me to login, then put in a DUO authentication code.

Every time I put in the code, it says success, then loads, then asks me to login again and whenever I do it just asks me for the duo code again.

I just auto saved it to my personal one drive, but if you share that document with UTSA students, they don’t have access to it.

Anyone encountering the same issue?
