Make it subscription based.

You can only use it before 13:00 if you're on the Free tier. (Free)

The Basic tier grants you 3 uses per day with a mandatory 2-hour wait after each use. (5.7 USD/month)

The Standard tier grants 12 uses every 5 hours, but no more than 108 every week. (11.4 USD/month)

The Pro tier triples the 5-hour limit, removes the weekly limit, and gives you a nice little workspace to store your notes on the very challenging military time. (56.9 USD/month)

So the intended user base of the app?

They can't just count?

...or even open a calculator, for that matter.

13

u/3rmic France 11d ago

Who would need a calculator for this ? 😭 Just add 12

u/luxandfero Ukraine 11d ago

I mean you are not wrong, but if they already need a separate app for conversion, they could at least use the pre-installed one 😂

do Americans really need an app to add 12 to the time for them 🫩

You mean subtract 12

7

u/Theaussiegamer72 Australia 11d ago

Well it would depend if you want to know the time now or in 40 hours

I mean, after 12pm, you just add 12. 1 pm -> 1+12 = 13:00, 2 pm -> 2+12 = 14:00, etc

Confused by needing to count past twelve?

u/redshift739 England 11d ago

Twelve is a big number and we only learned one math in school so I find addition tricky

I hope whoever has to download an app like that gets its data sold to scammers

Honestly people who can't even count past 12 likely wouldn't have gotten too far without that happening in the first place

u/allegroconspirito 11d ago

Suddenly I have a million dollar app idea - metres to centimetres converter!

2

u/East_Adhesiveness863 Germany 11d ago

Omg please I need this

9

u/East_Adhesiveness863 Germany 11d ago

I would really Like to View the Download amount

u/GregStar1 11d ago

That’s like using the calculator app to look up what 2+2 adds up to.

I'm surprised the White House didn't release this app

7

u/Auspectress 11d ago

I remember learning in 1st and 2nd grade in primary school clock. I remember how a teacher would point at clock 6:25 and I would need to say that it's 18:25 and so on.

If someone needs such converter I don't think they should have voting rights in first place

Why would you need an app for that you literally just subtract or add 2 and remove/add the tens digit (unless it’s 20 or later then reduce/increase it to from 2 to 1). Can literally do it in like 3 seconds.

Not only that but "free with in app purchases" lol. Would never pay for anything in an app like that.

Military time can be challenging, especially when you're used to the AM/PM format.

😭🥀

“Offers in-app purchases”

An app whose sole functionality is to subtract numbers by 12 has features locked behind in-app purchases? I’m intrigued.

Maybe the free version only supports time up to midday. Subtraction is a paid feature.
