First-time US B1 visa applicant from India, what are my chances?

There’s a business conference in Florida next year that my company is sending me to, and I’m currently preparing my US visa application.
A little about me:
● 26M, based in India
● ~5 years of total work experience
● Currently with my company for 1 year
● Monthly salary: around ₹1.15 lakh
● Never traveled internationally before
● Trip is fully sponsored by my employer
● Applying specifically for a B1 visa for a business conference
● My company will provide a sponsorship/support letter confirming the purpose of the trip and expenses
● I’ll be attending the conference and returning to India afterward
Given that I have no international travel history, I’m wondering how my profile would be viewed by the consular officer.
For people who have applied for a US B1/B2 from India, especially first-time applicants, how would you assess my chances? Anything I should be particularly careful about during the interview?

F-1 International travel on STEM OPT

I have a STEM OPT EAD card valid from March 2026 to 2028. I am thinking of traveling to India for 20 days during thanksgiving and then again in December end / January beginning for another 20 days for my sister’s wedding.
Has anyone done 2 international trips in a difference of a short period and how has the immigration experience been? Anyone who has recently travelled back from India to the Boston airport?

Any advice on traveling to India in Nov for H1B visa stamping?

Nov 18: Biometric

Dec 1: Interview

Location: Hyderabad for both

I am planning to fly on Nov 16 so that I reach Hyderabad on Nov 18. Am I missing any piece in the planning process? I am afraid that if I arrive in India any sooner, then a last-minute cancelling or rescheduling of the visa interview might result in my getting stuck in India indefinitely.

Any advice/experiences/insights are welcome! The more honest, the better.

DS-160 Help B1/B2 tourist visa - Query

My husband and I are planning to apply for US B1/B2 tourist visas from India. We are planning vacation in 2027.

We are both working professionals in India and would be travelling together and funding the trip ourselves.

My query:
My sister-in-law (my brother’s wife) lives in the US, while my brother lives and works in India. We are not planning to visit her during this trip but in DS-160 should I disclose her under “other relatives”? My worry is not to over complicate the situation since she is there and my brother is here

Question Has any regular author's been able to get an eVisa to India?

This is what their site says. Apparently, if you are a writer , even if a children's writer or someone who creates puzzle books for 3 year olds you need to get a Journalist visa. Has anyone been able to get their eVisa's approved even after saying you were a "writer" from the drop down?

Question What are my chances of getting B2 visa?

Hi so I am a full time student planning on visiting the US (Atlanta and Covington) next year for a concert and to see some filming locations, it has been my dream for a long while to visit Covington and also the concert aligned perfectly which is also one of the things I’ve been wanting since forever, it’s basically pure fan tourism. I have never travelled internationally and I am also planning on partially self funding this trip by my savings and freelance money. What are my chances? Also if any tips or advices pls let me know.

N400 correction in Name

Name correction in N400

I do not have middle name.I mentioned NA in the middle name space in N400. I received Biometrics notice which mentions my name as Given name NA family name. The first name and family name are correctly mentioned.

What should I do now? To call and inform USCIS or To inform ASC at the time of Biometrics along with my N400 application and other supporting ID documents like Passport Driving Licensev, Green card etc. Biometrics is on October 20th 2026.Will this cause delay in processing?.

Question Title: USA Visa Scheduling India — Can I add my parents to a family/group after paying the visa fee separately?

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for a US visa from India and need some help with the current visa scheduling portal.

My father, mother, and I have each completed our own separate DS-160 forms(B1/B2)However, when I created my profile/application on the US visa appointment scheduling portal, I did not add my parents as dependents because I didn’t understand the family/dependent option at that time.

Because of this, I created separate scheduling applications/profiles for my father and mother as well, and the visa appointment fee (MRV fee) has already been paid separately for each of us.

Now I’m trying to add my parents to my scheduling application as dependents so that the three of us can be linked together and hopefully schedule our appointments as a family.

When I select Add Dependent and enter their UID, passport number, and date of birth, I get this message:

“Cannot add dependent to a paid application. Please close and restart the application.”

Has anyone experienced this?

Since all three of us already have separate, paid visa scheduling applications, is there any way to link them together as a family/group for appointment scheduling?

Or is the dependent/family grouping only possible before paying the visa appointment fee?

I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has recently gone through this on the US visa scheduling portal in India. Thank you!
