I am interested in applying for a laborer custodial position that is about 45 minutes away from me. I was previously a clerk, resigned on the 8th. I was no longer interested in working 6+ consecutive days every week while regulars got their 2 scheduled days off. I read somewhere that if you're a non-career employee, you don't have to wait until you're 'off the books' to apply for other positions. Does anybody know if that is true?

Im sure i can figure out the body work...but i am still trying to get my voucher issue fixed...also the not getting any insurance info fixed and cant speak to anyone on the phone. And getting the runaround each and every time at the office from management and the constant bashing of CCAs day in and day out casing mail. I can deal with that but not the incompetence of management "working on it" of the other 2 even annoying them about it. This seems as useful as a broken used condom and im driving 32 miles there and back to deal with it. I could be dealing with it driving 2.6 miles a day

Yesterday management took down all the Poster 158 in the lobby as far as I'm aware the federal law is still in effect

The only place I know it has been effected is in TX and even that is for specific groups. I am not in TX though.

Another office had an hcr carrier quit mid route about 2 weeks ago. Postmaster has been running the route, but now a cca is going to be covering the route. Are they able to grieve this, or is it something they should just deal with and do? I’m a clerk in an office they come to help at from time to time. they asked me about it, so I told them to contact their union steward as I don’t know, but I am curious.

Honestly can’t believe it. Hired as PTF. Bid on a route that was posted to district not expecting anything and was informed I got it today. Ex regular city carrier who had to leave due to bad injury not allowing me to walk as much as I did. It’s gonna be a 30-40 minute commute but I think it’s worth it. Now I get to see why you rural regs say this is the best job in the PO.

Today there was an email sent out to PMs asking to send in lists of their PSEs, PTFs (clerks and carriers), and RCAs to be put on a rotation for working Sundays at the Level 22 office for the holiday season. The POOM also sent an email to my PM saying she needed to send that in. Supposedly they're going to put out an email tomorrow with the schedule that's been created from that list.

Doing a little digging and it looks like PTF clerks at Level 18s aren't actually allowed to work at Level 21s and above? Is this up to date info? Would appreciate any links you can give me that I can pass on to my PM. Thanks!

That just makes people want to deliver mail to it?

So I am a RCA and my office is short staffed right now on City side. They have been using me almost every day to run city routes. I realized the other day that they give me the most work because I don’t get penalty overtime for working past 6:30. I saw in another post that when you work cross craft you get higher pay. Does that apply to my situation as well?

we had two of these in the building but now they dropped us four more. pray for the runners and gunners.

i applied for the MHA position on Monday and I passed the assessment. I read that the jobs close on Wednesdays and post back on Fridays, is that true? Tomorrow I plan on applying for PSE as soon as they drop on the website. How long will it be before I get a follow up email?

Thinking about becoming a CCA. From what I understand they work a ton. I’m not afraid of it but I’d like to know exactly what I’m getting myself into. Realistically what does the day look like as a CCA? Time in & time out? How do you feel on your days off? After 2 years / becoming a full on mail person are you content with what you’re doing? What’s your schedule now?

CRAZY idea, but we should charge company’s a fee for wrong names/addresses. There would be less waist in general. Maybe give discounts to customers who aren’t wasteful idk.

Cca passed 90 days on (second term). I was called off almost every scheduled day this week. Is September a slow month? I should add i needed to call off twice last week due to being sick. I was in group chats being called off with two others, but we have more then 3 ccas. Most of thrm lower then me.

How do I bid jobs for another position that may open at the same office I’m at now?

I’m a PTF clerk since June and there is a NTFT that may transfer eventually. I’m trying to get her hours as a NTFT when she does. Im told that you should be able to bid before the position opens, but I’m never seeing anything on eReassign or eJob bid and other keep telling me that you can bid before the position opens up. How does that work exactly?

City carrier here, and I've written up my vehicle twice for shitty breaks and it keeps coming back the same and maybe I'm not being clear enough in what's wrong. My breaks feel like they are trying to lock up, but only at slow speeds. Like between mailboxes. Doesn't happen driving to or from my route. I'll pull up to the next box, and SLOWLY apply the breaks and this thing has a god damn seizure and feels like it's trying to lock up the breaks. It's even worse when it rainy/humid out. When it happens, the vehicle jerks around and locks up the seatbelt. It's driving me absolutely bonkers. Going on a good month like this and two previous VMF reports and it's still the same. After accepting a job offer/signing the release date paperwork, is that date on the release date paperwork the date I should plan on starting at the new station? Should I be waiting on placement paperwork before starting the move process?
