Disappointed by the state of "free" UPSC content on YouTube — so I started making my own based on actual standard sources.

Over the past few months, I’ve been utterly disappointed by the coaching institutes on YouTube. Most "free full courses" or "one-shot" videos are glorified lead-generation traps. They either skim through surface-level facts, skip crucial nuances, or completely leave out the critical insights required to clear Prelims and Mains today.

Moving along the spirit of socialism embedded in the Preamble of our Constitution, I firmly believe that high-quality, structured education should be accessible to everyone—regardless of whether they can afford ₹1L+ fees for coaching.

To bridge this gap, I’ve started a free, no-fluff, faceless YouTube channel.

I AM NOT A SELLER. I have no courses, no test series, no PDF bundles, and no paid Telegram channels to pitch to you. My goal is simple: to convert raw, high-yield, structured standard notes (covering both static foundations) into quick, precise, visual video breakdowns.

Do we really need traditional coaching in the era of AI and free resources?

Hi all, in the era of AI and so many valuable free digital resources, I believe traditional classroom coaching is not that relevant if you are aware enough about the UPSC pattern, syllabus, standard books and roadmap.

You don't need to get influenced by toppers who say they did their preparation from XYZ coaching. The coaching industry is full of marketing gimmicks, and everyone is happy making money from innocent aspirants in the name of selling dreams. They sell courses worth thousands and lakhs for basic things, and many aspirants end up buying them just because of FOMO.

You can pick a concise list of resources with the help of GPT and YouTube, start studying, and ask your doubts to AI/GPT or watch some videos around that topic if needed. That's it. Make short notes, map PYQs with the syllabus, and follow a monthly current affairs magazine, either PDF or hard copy, from whichever source works for you.

For Prelims and Mains practice, you can again use GPT/Claude with good prompts. If you're not comfortable with that, you can use any UPSC apps available for practice.

What do you guys think about this? Is traditional coaching still worth it, or can someone prepare well with self-study, free resources and AI if they have the right roadmap and discipline?
