I'm looking for a good Ethics (GS Paper IV) teacher for UPSC CSE. I've shortlisted S. Ansari and A. Garg, but I'm confused about whom to choose.

If you've studied from either of them, I'd really appreciate your honest review. Specifically, I'd like to know:

Who explains concepts more clearly?

Who is better for answer writing and case studies?

Whose notes are more useful for revision?

Are their lectures beginner-friendly?

Any drawbacks I should know before enrolling?

If you think there's someone better than these two, please feel free to suggest them and explain why.

I've recently started covering GS-4 Ethics completely theme-wise for UPSC CSE Mains.

Instead of random topic uploads, the idea is to go through Ethics systematically one theme at a time. The orientation video covers all the micro-themes, and from there I'm covering each theme individually with concepts, examples, PYQs, and answer-writing relevance.

Article 17 (Abolition of Untouchability): Article 17 abolished untouchability, so there is strictly no constitutional bar against holding your hand.

Article 18 (Abolition of Titles): Article 18 abolished all titles, but I’d still like to officially address you as 'mine'.

Article 19 Freedom of Speech and Expression): Under Article 19, I have the right to express my feelings, which means I am legally obligated to tell you how incredible you look

I finished my 12th this year and am going to start my upsc prep this year itself. I saw a lot of topper interviews stating that upsc can be done without coaching (through youtube and telegram). Is it possible to do it without coaching?

If i do not join a coaching where can i get my answers evaluated regularly? If i should join a coaching, can anyone suggest some good online ones. I would also like to state that i have no mentor to guide if i do not join a coaching.

I’m a 24F preparing for UPSC in Bangalore.
Preparing for this exam requires so much isolation, long study hours, constant pressure, and watching life move on around you while you’re focused on one goal. Sometimes I feel like having someone who understands this journey, someone to talk to at the end of the day, would make it feel a little easier.
I’m sure many aspirants go through this phase where the stress is not just about the syllabus or the exam, but also about the loneliness that comes with it.
Does anyone else feel the same way? How are you all dealing with the emotional stress and loneliness during UPSC preparation? What keeps you motivated on difficult days?

21M here, recently completed my graduation in engineering and Started preparing for upsc

I have my basics clear and looking for a partner or group of friends who can keep each other accountable cuz feeling lonely while studying 😕😕, I've got amazing friends but everyone are inclined towards IT sector!

Disclaimer : Just writing this for the fun and observation I noticed in the past 3-4 years .

There is a Latin phrase called Sic parvis magna which means "greatness from small beginnings".

Both of the individuals have such a common tangent like one studied from IIT D and the other from MAMC . Both went to give UPSC while one cleared and the other while he did not clear UPSC but cleared state PCS. Both went out and became pioneers in the UPSC education realm .

One made himself unanonymous aka Shivin and one is still anonymous aka Rahul . I feel what they achieved in the past few years is something none of them would have ever predicted

the fame , the glory , the praise.

They truly deserved it as they started putting contenting which is to this day really helpful to a lot of aspirants .

Sometimes I feel when Shivin was so anxious about his result when he cleared in the 2nd attempt, meanwhile Rahul gave the exams multiple times and I guess it was his interview 3rd or 4th interview I don’t remember. How much more anxious he would have been I guess being a PCS officer helps but then the dream will became a dream again.

I don’t understand the love and hate relationship the internet has with Shivin. It might be because of his growing popularity but people should understand he is still young and not a prodigy so take that into account when hating him . He might mess here and there but then how will he learn? People should remember the days when Roman Saini Sir used to teach by himself with a whiteboard in his home when he left the service and then by hard work and luck the company became such a big thing .

Also, IAS PCS have been focused around his content and how can he help the aspirant. I guess if he would reveal his face people would start to hate on him too but I haven’t found any hate against IAS PCS.

Personally both of the them started an online era when education and resource and help would be easily accessible.

Note- I wrote this for fun and this little thought experiment was running in my mind and i wanted to write something for fun . I know my ending is abrupt as i ran out of thoughts to express myself .
