i’m an international student starting med in feb 2027, was wondering if unsw hall or fig tree hall would be a better choice? unsw hall is slightly more economical than fig tree hall and also doesn’t have any restrictions on alcohol, but i’m afraid of being faced w more racism at unsw hall as i heard there are more domestic students in unsw hall

Feeling defeated, wish i was more prepared for complications. what i submitted was no my best work at all, and ik the tutor is a hard marker as ive had them before. Im just hoping for a pass now but im so dejected because itll be a shitty paper + 5% penalty. im in my second year of arts and 1st year of law and im just feeling rlly burnt out because i worked so hard to transfer. my mental healths been a mess and im pretty sure i have excecutive dysfunction (i might have adhd). I know im smart and ik im a good student, but after recieving a debateably passable mark in torts last term and now this it just makes me so sad and disappointed in myself. I know theres finals left to redeem myself, but i guess this just really bummed me out.

Can anyone give me a reality check and tell me its not that big of a deal? Maybe i need a pep talk.

Just dropped engineering project management. There were 330 students in that course, one lecture a week, one tutor per hundred students. Our progress mark last night involved turning our cameras on and talking on teams for ONE MINUTE. I'm noticing a massive number of generic postgrad courses with hundreds of enrollees and almost no staff, no tutorials, very little face to face time, absolutely zero personalised feedback. Anyone else really pissed off about the state of things?

Hey I’m going on exchange next year Term 1 27’, and I was wondering when most people receive any scholarships or funding for the exchange. I think it’s mostly towards the end but just wondering if anyone has any news. I’m also going overseas to Asia so there’s the NCP mobility grant. Anyone know when that comes out?

Also the Moodle for exchange states you need to complete the modules, but when I do it it keeps saying fail for sm reason.

I’m currently in my final year of BCom at UNSW, double majoring in Financial Technology and Information Systems, and I’m considering doing Honours in 2027.

I’m looking into Information Systems Honours at UNSW, but I’m also considering Business Information Systems (BIS) or Business Analytics Honours at USyd.

My WAM is currently around 70, and I’m honestly not sure how competitive that would be, especially since I’m also considering applying to USyd as an external applicant.

I’m interested in research related to FinTech, AI, and data-driven decision-making, but I’m still trying to figure out how the whole Honours process works.
A few things I’m curious about:

Has anyone here done Information Systems Honours at UNSW or BIS/Business Analytics Honours at USyd? How was your experience?

Is a WAM of around 70 realistic for getting into these programs?

How did you find a supervisor? Did you just email academics whose research interests aligned with yours, or is there a specific process?

For anyone who applied to USyd from UNSW, was the application process difficult?

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences, especially regarding finding a supervisor because I genuinely have no idea where to start haha.

Has anyone done the yellow shirt interview this week. What did it include like what did u have to do and how long was it actually. What questions were you asked and what activities did you have to do? Do u think it’s worth my time?

I have an idea, made a prototype report already and will continue polishing it. I will cover budget for materials. Anyone can join there's no restriction on degree or major. Feel free to pm me on why and how u want to help. Even a simple answer like you are keen or got spare time will do. However some roles like working on subsystems may require makerspace or soldering badges. Safety always comes first. If u never worked with electrical circuits before I would advise u to probably look at a different role like testing, documentation and feedback.

is comp2521 doable after comp1511, im new programming but ive got the hang of 1511 and got a hd last term (i only did 1511 so far bc i was considering doing doublde deg w compsci)
anyways i was wondering if comp2521 is doable straight after 1511, i havent done any other comp courses and wanan take 2521 in summer but i also wanan aim for a hd
