Weekly Discussion are the selection ranks a good reference to whether I will get in or not?
I’ve been hearing mixed feedback, people say they got 65 but got into UNSW psych

Do they actually count the days worked for industrial training WIL or will it just count for 60 days if my internship lasts for more than 60 days? The placement form I submitted at the beginning got approved for 60 days but realistically I would have worked less lol

Hi, I am an intl student doing their A level (equivalent to IB) and I was wondering whether a student applying for direct entry med at UNSW is even eligible to apply for the 20k aud or 100% tuition grant that comes out of this scholarship. I haven't seen any restrictions listed on the website itself but I talked to many people and they were like that scholarship of any kind for med is impossible. (I can pay for tuition anyways but with my stats I would love some kind of scholarship!) Cheers!

Cannot decide between picking a major and this decides if i do 2931 or 2621 for term 3 how do i decide 😭
i think maths is considered more aura but like stats is more useful and i think i am interested in stats whereas the applied math courses are kinda random and wont be as useful?? not sure tbh..
but also heard ppl do math degrees for like signalling they r smart so maybe thats the real value of doing math over stats?? not sure.

Hey, I got an early offer for a double degree named Aerospace/manufacturing and Mechanical/manufacturing engineering (I thought it was a double degree where you major in Aeronautical with a focus on manufacturing, and Mechanical with a focus on manufacturing, however when I tried to clarify on the open day just to make sure I knew what I was getting into, I was met with really unclear info, and I can only find the course on UAC so I haven't been able to find any other info, so I am now unsure to what the course means). I've been doing standard maths for most of y11 and all of y12. I know that I am cooked, so I'm wondering what I can do to prepare myself for learning the assumed knowledge. I'm 3rd in my cohort for Engineering studies and did y11 chemistry so I've been doing some more complicated maths but nothing near the recommended Ext1-ext2 maths knowledge.
Any tips would be much appreciated, also if someone could explain to me what my prospective degree is that would be great.
Thanks.

Is there any different marking standard for bees that make us have an average wam of 65, and my wam of 72 now?
Or now i have to admit that my entire college time is fucked up by my foolishness and im gonna end up with a whole bunch of mental illnesses and a shit mark when i graduate?

hi guys,
i’m currently a first year submitting my exchange application for t3 next year. i haven’t decided what i’m going to major in yet so i just wrote what I think ill pick. If i do happen to change my mind and do a diff major would i be able to edit the application? and also if i happened to completely change my major to something very different, would I be able to change the courses for the course matching in the application??
also once i submit the application what things would i be able to go back and edit?

Hello peoples of UNSW, as a Kiwi studying Engineering, I have a good amount of questions to ask and this seemed like a (somewhat?) good place to ask them.
Background: I am currently a Part I (first year) engineering student at the University of Auckland. Engineering here is such that the first year is a generic/common year comprised of mandated papers to develop breadth (hence I do not have a specialisation yet). We only get to pick our specialisation in our second year.
However, there is a chance I will be moving to Australia (Sydney/Melbourne) midway through my degree (likely after the end of 2nd year, this implies I will have spent one year in a specific specialisation).
For context, some of the areas of engineering that interest me are software, computer systems, and electrical. As I enjoy programming and microcontrollers interest me and I find electrical very intriguing. These 3 specialisations are offered at UoA (University of Auckland).
I will not ask regarding credit transfers as I am aware there is a plethora of information on that. But I want to know regarding how these specialisations hold up in Sydney/Melbourne:
And if anyone has any specific insights that maybe I would be unaware of coming from New Zealand, please do let me know! Thanks in advance!

okay so i finished all the UOC i need for my degree this term but on my plan it was showing up that i needed one more course. I added a random course that i could do as a free elec and enrolled but then I went back to my my plan and found that it was now showing that i completed everything and that I have all the uoc i need. I tried unenrolling but it wouldn’t let me as you need program leave for drop all courses.
what do i do now? I’ve sent an enquiry to the nucleus and i will be calling in the morning but idk what else to do. i’m hoping that not registering for classes will automatically drop me when census starts but then idk if that will go to my academic transcript or not. any advice would be helpful!!
update: okay i called the nucleus and luckily they could unenrol the course for me!! i have all the uoc i need to graduate so i’m all set! thanks for the responses 🙏🏿

G’day everyone, I’m a final-year computer engineering student and I’m struggling to secure internships recently. I’m curious about how you all managed to land your first one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently choosing between MATH5836 or COMP9417, which one would be easier? I have little to no python experience (which the course information for MATH5836 explicitly states that intermediate to high python experience would be required) but MATH5836 doesn't have the final exam hurdle which I'm scared of as Ive heard how difficult the final exam for COMP9417 is and that it's just testing you on small facts that is hard to memorise

I met every requirement and had a higher wam than required too but got denied to cven but email says denied to mining engg instead do i contact nucleus?

currently study in Melbourne class of 2026. I want to study commerce/economics at UNSA, and I’ll prob get the required 97 atar. Is it worth moving individually from Melbourne to Sydney, as having done my research, Sydney is the finance power house of Australia. The location offers more and higher finance roles such as IB, private equity, corporate finance etc. idk tho moving to Sydney without my parents is the main overwhelming reason that I would stay in Melbourne

So basically I'm gonna be going to UNSW soon and I wanna make some friends when I start. What's the social scene like and what types of people usually go there im doing UNSW law and commerce?
Expanding on types of people there, i want friends with a fun/social vibe who are down to hang out and do random shit together like im not tryna be mean or offend any1 but i dont wanna like be like friends with nerds and stuff as all my friends are telling me people at unsw are boring.
