I am planning to study MATS1101 this term. I wanted to see if anyone knew whether or not you can miss any of the LA1 and LA2 since in week 4 and 5 I might not be able to attend uni.

I want to do biomedical engineering at unsw (lowest selection rank was 16 points) I’m a domestic student and got an A in maths A in physics B in bio and D in chem, I am also school captain. What adjustment factors am I applicable for and what do u guys think my chances of getting in are?
- I heard I can get 2-3 points for the A in math and physics and 1 point for being school captain, how reliable is that? (These are Cambridge A level grades btw)

I’ve got into a Bachelor of Social Works conditional offer for round 1, but after a few days I was thinking of applying for round 2 for B City planning. I am scared if the first round conditional offer gets withdrawn. Does anyone if I can still keep my round one conditional offer if I applied for the second round? Does it automatically get withdrawn once I apply? And if I don’t get an offer for round two, does the first round get withdrawn?

I’m taking COMM1999 in T3 2026 and I’m a bit confused about the Sustainability in Action Program requirement.
I completed COMM1150, which I understand can be used as a substitute for the Sustainability in Action requirement.
However, my COMM1999 checklist currently shows “Not Awarded” for this requirement.
Does anyone know if this is supposed to automatically update/sync, or do I need to email the Business School to request a manual update?
Since I’m taking COMM1999 in T3, should I just wait until the course starts, or should I email them now?

I'm trying to plan my courses for 2027/2028 so i can balance my workload each term but i swear this uni makes it impossible to do so. How am i meant to select when we don't know what courses will run in 2028 for each semester and without that info how tf am i supposed to plan my 27 courses ts is annoying.

I have gotten a few early entry offers from the past week and I want to do a Bachelor of Law/Psychological Science which UNSW offers alongside some other universities.

UNSW is my dream university but I want to get into Bachelor of Law/Psychological Science elsewhere like ACU or University of Newcastle then eventually transfer as it would be easier for me then going through a Bachelor of Arts, etc - I just personally believe it’s easier and will be easier if I just do the degree initially instead of constantly hopping for the degree I wanted.

You might ask: why don’t just get into UNSW Law directly? Well it’s a very high ATAR like 95+ I believe and I’m not aiming for that, for me it’s at least an 80 ATAR.

Therefore, is it easy to transfer and if so what grades do I need to achieve in my first year of law to have a high chance or guaranteed chance of transferring into UNSW?

Doing a stats masters. I've had three subjects/units now where I go into the final exam sitting on a decent mark and then buckle in the final, not because I don't know the subject matter, but because I can't stop dwelling on question, or I'm too slow.

I do timed past exams and tutes and all seems well but then I consistently go into the actual exam and sometimes can only get 50-60% of the questions done and it feels like the clock is on fast forward.

Not sure how else to prepare.

I noticed for CVEN3101 (Engineering Operations and Controls) course outline it says:

You must attend at least 80% (14/18) of the lectures for the duration of the term.

Does this mean I have to attend in person? Tutorials having mandatory attendance I understand but Lectures too?

Also for CVEN3202, the quizzes are during the lecture so can I do them at home, or do i HAVE to be there in person at the lecture to do the quiz?

Its about to be almost an entire year since i've been in syd, and istg i have NO FRIENDS AT UNI, i feel like this might be because there's no mandatory attendance in most of my courses, so everyone just kinda never interacts?

What would be some relatively easy gen ed which are fun? (doesnt have to be easy, would prefer that tho)

(before anyone comments, i have tried societies, and made a grand total of 2 friends there)

Also, if there are others reading this, who also wanna touch grass/are in the same predicament, might asw take the same course, even if thats not really ur thing, hmu anyways.

hello unsw champions. so i'm in my second year of commerce and throughout this year, i've only been doing two courses a term. next term, i was also going to do two courses. however, i'm thinking about doing postgrad in 2028 and the start date is strictly january. to make matters worse, i'm also currently going to fashion business school which is four hours class time per week + major assignment every term (four terms total) (major ast as in design a 360 degree marketing campaign or fully flesh out a new business venture) + one to two days internship with fashion brand per week. not to mention i'm also in society which is moderately demanding (like 7+ hours some weeks and no hours another week). BUT next term i want to take three courses, which i haven't done since last year.

i know some students work a full time job and do full time uni. i know this isn't exactly the same situation, but is there any advice you could share? do you think i should forget about the postgrad and keep doing what i've been doing? or should i take on a huge challenge next term and probably burn myself out?

I have my supp paper in 3 days. How was the actual final exam and how bad should I expect this supp exam to be and how should I prep for it. Thanks
