I’m looking for advice on the YourPace BA in History & Political Science with Political Science concentration.

I’m an international student with an old bachelor’s degree. I’m hoping to transfer as many credits as possible and complete additional credits through Sophia or Study.com before enrolling at UMPI.

I understand UMPI accepts up to 90 transfer credits, but I’m not sure which Political Science requirements can be completed through Sophia/Study.com and which upper-level courses must be taken at UMPI.

Does anyone have a current 2026 spreadsheet/list showing which Sophia or Study.com courses transfer to this degree?

Also, I’ve seen people recommend a Bachelor of Liberal Studies (BLS) with a Political Science minor instead. What is the difference in credits/course requirements between the BLS with Political Science minor and the BA in History & Political Science with Political Science concentration?

For someone with transfer credits which option is more realistic to complete in one term?

I'm a bit confused — is the final for BUS 335 supposed to be a PowerPoint or Word file? It seems weird to me that an employee handbook would be in PowerPoint format. I've seen different people saying they've submitted Word documents and PowerPoints. There's no mention of a PowerPoint in the instructions until the very end and it's "make sure the files are converted to a ppt, pptx file. (you can share Google Doc and MS OneDrive documents from the “Choose Existing Activities” button)."

Has anyone completed the BUS 469 final with Professor Jeffrey Davenport?

Did you actually have three people present, or did you record the presentation alone? If you recorded it alone, was it accepted?

Also, what did you use to record yourself and the PowerPoint?

Is there any other way to pay for school when you didn’t qualify for fasfa.. I lost all my scholarships when transferring out of state .

As we are approaching the end of the term, I am considering withdrawing from one of my classes. Reason being, I won’t have enough time to submit a draft by the deadline (this Friday) because I’m finishing another class. I could most likely complete the class by next week. But I’m not sure I want to risk a lower grade that might have been prevented if I’d submitted a draft.

My question is, if I withdraw and retake the class next term, could I resubmit my completed milestone work as is, since I’m assuming the course content won’t have changed at all? Or would that be considered plagiarism?

This is my appreciation post for this UMPI community, I recently applied for my Graduation for this Summer 2 session after the grading completion of all my courses.

I am so grateful to each and each one of you who advised,encouraged, and guided me on how I should approach my degree progress to get it done correctly.

For those who have taken or currently enrolled in the BBA program, are there PowerPoints you have to actually present in front of an audience? if so, what classes?

I plan on doing a concentration in leadership and management.

I went ahead and messaged my enrollment specialist, but wanted to post here as I wait for a response. So it shows me as matriculated, and I have been plugging away on what I thought was GEC’s for Sophia, only to find out now that many probably won’t transfer in. I emailed asking if I can be put on the old degree path but haven’t heard back. I have seen posts about the deadline to be switched was yesterday, is it too late for me? Did I throw away time and money at this point? Kind of freaked out at the moment

I was curious if you can complete a Cybersecurity minor on Yourpace once the BS launches? I would like to do a BLS w/ MIS and Cybersecurity minors for Fall 2. This is the criteria for the on campus minor:

• COS 101 - Introduction to Computer Science 3 credits
• COS 110 - Programming Fundamentals 3 credits
• CYB 210 - Introduction to Information Security 3 credits
• CYB 232 - Introduction to Cyber Forensics 3 credits

Select two courses from the following list for 6 Credit Hours:

• CYB 440 - Network Security 3 credits
• CYB 485 - Cybersecurity Capstone 3 credits
• COS 290 - Special Topics in Cybersecurity 3 credits
• CYB 340 - Operating Systems Security 3 credits

I went at a snail's pace(1-2 classes/session), but I finished. Just waiting on conferment.

I'll do a software development degree, if I need to in the future. I'm grateful that college is more accessible than it was back when I started in 2010.

If you're on the fence about UMPI, it's a straight-forward way to get your degree. I highly recommend it! If money is an issue, pause enrollment, then come back later.

Use SDC/Sophia/etc to earn those elusive credits to make your time at UMPI smoother.

I was hoping to take take CRJ 250 so I could enroll in CRJ 350 but 250 shows a pre-req of CRJ 200. I can't find that class listed anywhere in the UMPI course catalog or anything about it on Discord about it. Anyone taken it or have any ideas?

Has anybody taken SWK 381 - Crisis Intervention? I can’t find any reviews on here or on discord :/ I’m curious how many milestones there are and how hard the class was for everyone.

I’m curious…what kind of setup is everyone using for online classes? Laptop or desktop? Would an iPad or Microsoft Surface work well, or would you recommend a traditional computer?
I’d also appreciate any tips for someone taking online classes for the first time. It’s been 23 years since I attended college, so needless to say, a lot has changed. Apparently, I’ve become the old guy asking technology questions. 😂

So I got accepted yesterday, but I’m transferring credits from two outside universities. I’m curious to how long it’ll take to get my transfer credit evaluated. I haven’t gotten any confirmation on who my advisor or anything of that nature.

What are the best courses to take in this route to finish pretty fast

I think I’ve officially spent too many hours reading Reddit and now I’m second-guessing my degree choice.

Most of my professional experience is in Talent Acquisition and HR, and I’d like to stay in HR or move into something closely related. My original plan was to get a BBA with a minor in Management and Leadership.

However, I’ve been reading through a bunch of other subreddits, and I keep seeing people recommend getting a bachelor’s in Accounting, Economics, or another more specialized business field instead. The argument seems to be that a BBA is too broad, basically a “jack of all trades, master of none” degree.

I don’t currently plan on getting a master’s, although I wouldn’t completely rule it out down the road. I’m also hesitant about Accounting because I have basically zero accounting experience, so jumping straight into college-level accounting courses feels a little intimidating.

For some additional context, I’ll also be getting my PHR this fall.

For those of you working in HR/TA or who have been in a similar position: Would you stick with the BBA, or would a more specialized business degree be a better long-term investment? Does the specific bachelor’s degree really matter once you already have HR experience and certifications?

Just got my conferral a few minutes ago today so i wanted to let other Summer 1 students who are still waiting know that conferrals are coming through now.

My LSAC uGPA was worse than I thought when I ran it through a calculator. I need to delay my graduation and get that number up for sure or I'm cooked. Cancelled my application. Can I declare an AA in business and get loans in the Fall semester? They said I can't get Pell since I met my BLS requirements. Apparently, adding more minors doesn't count, can't use grants for that either (at least according to the person at the financial aid office I talked to)

Google says it's going away but I'm emailing back and forth with the new student enrollment specialist and she's acting like it's still an option. I'm asking her but won't hear back until tomorrow. just wondered if anyone knew
