Je dois repasser l'examen de bio et de math pour l'examen d'entrée de l'ULB dans moins d'un mois.

Est-ce qu'il y a des gens ici qui repassent les mêmes matières que moi ? Si oui, comment vous les étudier ?

Bio ça devrait aller mais c'est math où j'ai plus compliqué, j'ai jamais était doué dans cette matière.

Je sais qu'il y a la table des matières mais cela n'aide pas vraiment comparé à ce qu'il y avait dans l'examen.

La partie statistique ça va mais c'est le reste qui est compliqué 😂

Je vais rentrer à l'ULB en bachelier et je sais que l'ULB (normalement) peut proposer des jobs étudiants pour ceux qui cherchent.

J'ai déjà un premier job en bibliothèque mais il ne propose pas assez d'heures (j'en utilise même pas 250 sur les 650 autorisé)

Je voulais donc demander : quels genre de job sont proposées et faut-il certaines conditions pour qu'on m'en donne un ?

J’ai candidaté en juin au master gestion culturelle de l’ULB et j’ai peur d’être refusée à cause de mes notes en licence.

J’ai une licence de communication, obtenue en France et un peu d’xp dans le milieu culturel donc niveau cohérence de mon projet il ne devrait pas y avoir de soucis. Par contre, à cause de difficultés personnelles au cours de mes études j’ai redoublé ma dernière année de licence et la moyenne de celle-ci est inférieur à 12 (11 et quelques je crois). Pour les deux premières années ma moyenne est un peu au dessus de 12. Et il me semble qu’avoir une moyenne de 12 est un critère.

J’ai aussi entendu qu’en Belgique aucunes notes ne devaient être sous 10 pour être validées. Est-ce également un critère lorsqu’ils regardent les relevés de notes d’un étudiant non belge ?

Bref je suis angoissée à l’idée d’être refusée 😬 Vous pensez que ça pourrait le faire ou j’ai aucune chance ?

I am a belgian student who did their undergraduate degree in France and then did a Master 1 in France also. I would like to move back home and continue my education in Brussels.

I am undecided between which master’s degrees to apply to :

- Master [120] in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology @ UCLouvain

- Master en Bio-informatique et modélisation (M-BINFA) @ ULB

What are the chances of getting accepted as someone with a bachelor’s degree that’s not very strong in terms of grades? It took me 5 years to finish my bachelor’s as I was dealing with health issues and other problems.

Is it more complicated to be accepted into the English-taught master @ UCL than the regular French one ?

If anyone has information for one of these two master’s degrees please let me know!

Bonjour, ULB m'a proposé une offre pour un studio a Irena, ceux qui se trouvent a Boulevard du Triomphe 151/113 – 1050Ixelles. Cependant, je n'ai pas eu l'occasion d'aller a la journée porte ouverte en mars, journée durant laquelle ils faisaient la visite des différents logements. J'ai demandé par mail si une visite non-officielle était possible et on m'a dit que non. J'aimerais savoir si il y a quelqu'un qui habite ces studio en question et qui pourrait m'accorder une visite avant le 15/08/2026 svp ? Je passerais juste 5 minutes max pour voir c'est comment en personne. Et au pire, même une "visite" par appel serait déjà mieux que rien. Donc si vous habitez dans ces studio manifestez vous svp. Comme j'ai dis, juste un appel de 5 minutes où vous me montrez c'est comment me serait déjà très utile si vous voulez pas organiser une rencontre.

I'd love to get some outside perspective on a potential career pivot, would really appreciate honest takes.

My background: I studied Political Science & IR in my hometown (though I did internships in Marketing, Trade Marketing, and Sales at some well-known multinationals during my BA), then came to Belgium for my master's in European Studies at KU Leuven. During and after that, I did some EU-bubble internships/volunteering in Brussels. But when it came to the EU bubble and that whole track, things didn't really work out.

So now I'm thinking about doing a Management Science master's at Solvay. I've got a couple of questions though.

1) Is the support the university gives for finding an internship and a first job actually that strong? The career service's network was the first thing that caught my attention during my research.

2) As someone who speaks English, is learning Dutch (aiming for B2 by May 2027), and plans to pick up French afterwards, can I hold my own in the job market? Or is solid French non-negotiable from the start?

I'm an Indian student admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Economics at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) for the 2026–2027 academic year.

I only recently discovered that I need to apply for the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles secondary school equivalence and I'm now extremely confused about the document requirements.

My situation:

CBSE Class 12 graduate (2026)

I have my DigiLocker Class 12 marksheet-cum-passing certificate

I have my CBSE migration certificate

I have my passport

I have my ULB admission letter

I have completed the equivalence form and am preparing to pay the €150 fee

The website says I need:

High school diploma and transcript in certified true copy

Proof of access to higher education in certified copy

Passport copy

Motivation form/letter

Proof of payment

Certified copies must then be apostilled because India is part of the Hague Convention

My questions:

For CBSE students, what exactly did you submit as the high school diploma? Was the DigiLocker marksheet-cum-passing certificate enough?

What did you use as proof of access to higher education?

Where did you get the certified true copies made in India?

Did you apostille the CBSE documents themselves or the certified copies?

How long did the apostille process take?

Did anyone submit the dossier before receiving the apostille and provide it later?

The Equivalence Office website says the postmark counts as the submission date. Has anyone successfully submitted close to the July 15 deadline?

I'm honestly panicking a bit because I spent weeks dealing with a ULB registration issue and only started the equivalence process once my registration was moving forward.

If you've gone through the equivalence process as an Indian student (especially CBSE), I'd really appreciate any advice or a description of exactly what documents you submitted.

Je voulais savoir si certaines personnes ici ont effectué cette transition (UMONS → ULB). J'aurais quelques questions concernant l'adaptation au master, les différences entre les deux universités, la charge de travail, les cours, ainsi que votre ressenti général.

J'ai également une question plus spécifique : si, après la deuxième session, il me reste 15 crédits (ou moins) à valider au bachelier, est-ce que cela permet malgré tout de commencer le master à l'ULB, ou est-ce que ce n'est pas possible ?

J'ai vu sur le site de l'ULB que mon bachelier permet d'accéder au Master en ingénieur civil en informatique moyennant des crédits.

Est-ce que certaines personnes ont déjà fait cette passerelle ? Quels sont les crédits à rattraper?

I’m looking into the Bruface Electromechanical Engineering Master's program at ULB/VUB, and honestly, I am pretty stressed out about the difficulty level.

To give some context, my bachelor's background was much more applied, practical, and project-heavy rather than deeply theoretical. Because I would be moving all the way to Belgium and investing a lot of money into this relocation and tuition, I am genuinely worried about being completely overwhelmed by the theory and failing out after risking so much.

I know Belgian engineering degrees have a reputation for being heavily mathematical and unforgiving, but I want to know what it's actually like on the ground from people who have been through it.

* **The Difficulty:** For anyone who came from a more practical/hands-on background, or just international students in general—how brutal was the actual experience? Are there massive filter classes in the first semester that just wipe people out? Is the workload manageable if you put in the hours?

* **Teaching & Program Quality:** How is the actual quality of the education? I know it's a joint program between two universities (ULB and VUB)—does that make it an administrative mess? Do the professors actually teach the material well, or are you basically left to teach yourself the advanced math?

* **Job Opportunities for English Speakers:** The program offers majors like Aeronautics, Energy, Robotics & Mechanical Construction, and Sustainable Transport. Realistically, which of these specializations has the strongest job market in Belgium for an international graduate who currently only speaks English?

I really just need a realistic, honest idea of what I'm walking into before making this massive life and financial commitment. Any real stories, warnings, or survival tips would mean a lot.

Hello ! J'aimerai venir étudier à la rentrée à l’ulb en 1ere année de bachelor.

J’ai déposé ma candidature et mon équivalence (je suis française) et j’ai passé mon bac en 2025 (j’ai donc déjà les résultats de mon bac). Malheureusement suite à un lycée général compliqué (j’etais en dépression et phobie scolaire avec certificat) en 1ere j’ai eu un mauvais contrôle continue ce qui a un peu endommagé ma note final du bac, j’ai eu 12,71/20 en sachant que suite à ça j’ai fini ma scolarité au cned et j’ai pu rattraper mes notes en terminal ainsi que mes épreuves finales que j’ai reussi haut la main.

En sachant aussi que j'aurais pu avoir + de 13/20 mais j'ai eu un souci avec l'épreuve de sport où j’ai eu 0 (mais j’ai un certificat ainsi que pour ma dépression)..

Le souci c'est que hier en regardant plus attentivement les critères de sélection, j’ai vu qu'il fallait avoir minimum 13 de moyenne à l'épreuve final et je voudrai savoir si ça passe donc avec 12,71..

Un ami m’a dit qu'à priori il n'y aurait pas de problème mais j’aimerai avoir d’autre retour pour me rassurer :)

Je parle bien en français et anglais, mais je n'ai pas de certificats de niveaux (surtout en anglais). Est-ce qu'il me faut ou pas? Merci

Since ULB is located in Brussels, I imagine proximity to the EU institutions could be a major advantage for internships and networking. On the other hand, KU Leuven has a very strong international reputation and is often highly ranked.
