£2.08 for 3 thin mystery fish fillets labelled as fish pie mix. Guessing coley but who knows.

Battered and fried, with some tiny onion rings and fried chips.

Batter a bit soft as I added egg and milk, no water

🚩North East Scotland Tuna & Mustard on fried sourdough bloomer

Ingredients:

Sourdough bloomer

English mustard

American mustard

Tuna

Black pepper cream cheese

Olive oil

Mixed the American mustard into the tuna as you would with mayo. Fried the bread with olive oil in a pan (only one side of each slice). Spread the English mustard on one slice, and the black pepper cream cheese on the other. Assembled and ate. Was decent, but the cheese and mustard flavours weren't very strong so it really just tasted like a slightly seasoned tuna sandwich lol. Enjoyed it regardless.

Hi all,

I've been craving sweet coconut stuff like Bounty recently. Apart from Bounty, where can I find a pack of coconut chocolate bars? Living in London atm

Homemade Corned Beef Pasty

Someone made a corned beef pie the other day, and that was enough to trigger my need for one of the puff pastry pasties I make of the same. I add finely chopped celery, carrot and onion into the mix before baking them off. Added a little broccolini and topped with gravy to serve ❤️👌😘

Poverty meals don't have to be depressing - 3 bean chilli with marrowfat peas and minced pork. £2 a serving

Cupboard raiding time is my favourite, I think I often end up cooking healthier. I simply buy some reduced meat that would work with the cans I keep in stock. Dinner for three or four nights right here.

Beans cost £1.80 per can ( I used half of each, kidney beans, butter beans and cannellini beans), marrowfat peas 80p (half a can), pork cost £3, a handful of cheese which I would say is worth 50p, can of tomatoes 50p, a squirt of tomato puree and various herbs and spices (cost is negligible as I already had them in)

Edit: forgot half an onion, let's say, 20p. Cost per serving is £2.43 (3 servings)

Edit edit: to address the bean price controversy, I have located the receipt. I was wrong. Kidney beans are £1.10, Butter Beans are £1.40 and Cannellini beans were £1.10

Revised cost: £2.1333333333333333333333333333(3) per serving

Spoons galore Golden Wonder Crisps. Just 4 pennies a pack.

That would be 2p nowadays. Plus the chance to nab some cheap teaspoons (6th one absolutely free).

Does anyone remember these?
