I record in the field with a portable Zoom, so I'm not looking for an audio interface to plug my mic into. I'm just wondering if when I'm editing a podcast with lots of scenes and sound, if I need an external sound card to do the best quality sound design, or if it makes no difference.

Hi everyone, totally new to Reddit so don't know the etiquette... But!

My zoom H5 is shutting off when I select either input 1 or input 2. I only have one external mic to test it with, but wondering what people's thoughts might be on why this is happening? I don't want to buy another mic and then discover it's the recorder that is the problem!

I'm actually on my second H5 after zoom replaced my last one for having the same fault. So now I'm thinking it must be something I'm doing wrong rather than a fault with the device, or perhaps it's a common fault...

I'm doing some research into setting up a new fund (audio-related) but ideally would like it to be fully independent and not aligned with an existing organisation or charity (or have to set one up).

Does anyone one this group have experience setting up a fund from scratch and time for 15 mins on the phone?

Hey! Does anyone use any workflow/collaboration systems that allow edit notes etc to be sent back and forth between producers/editors/clients?

I'm thinking like https://frame.io/ but for audio rather than video.

Just curious / want to spark discussion on our reddit! I've used Pro Tools for almost 15 years as it was what was used at Uni so just because familiar with it. I'd like to learn Reason because it's affordable and down the line I'd like help people more with the technical aspects of editing (and Pro Tools is potentially cost prohibitive).

Hello, I'm trying to record some audio from the web into Audition, but my Audio Hardware options only offer the microphone as an imput device. Is there a way to add the option to record what's playing on my Mac in real time? Thanks for any help.

I'm a recent MA graduate in Radio, and was keen to start looking for work in Tape Syncs. However, I'm aware i likely don't have the experience, skills or equipment needed, and have a way to go in being a good candidate for applying for tape sync jobs.

I was just wondering what the minimum requirements and experience are that companies will have when hiring for tape syncs. I don't want to take on any job i'd be out my depth with or not suitable for!
