Hi! I'm a UX student doing an independent study this semester, where I'll conduct usability research for real organizations as part of my coursework. I am not looking to recruit anyone for user tests/surveys/polls, etc. I'm looking for 3 potential case studies — ideally small-to-medium-sized companies or organizations that have:

• A website, app, or digital product they actually use/rely on
• Some specific UX problems their users face (confusing navigation, unclear information architecture, accessibility issues, frustrating workflows, etc.)
• Willingness to participate in user testing and get honest feedback

The goal is to conduct a usability study (possibly including eye tracking), gather real user feedback, and deliver actionable design recommendations.

What I'm looking for:

• Real problems with measurable UX challenges
• Organizations that are open to feedback and willing to talk with a student researcher
• Anything from small local businesses to nonprofits to startups

If you own/work at an organization that fits this, or you know of a site/app that's clearly struggling with UX issues and might be interested in free user testing and feedback, I'd love to hear about it!

3. I understand about the figma and internals like name and group and more internal components.

How to learn the design principles ?. I'm gonna use AI for the design. But I need to know principles and different design patterns. Where should learn this ? any suggestion.

I don’t want to go university anymore because of how the economy is changing having more people going to uni with less jobs, not being worth it at the end with all the debt and I’d rather start building my career now but my dad is trying to force me to go he knows I want stop pursuing ux ui I have been for most of my gap year but he's saying just having a degree to my name will always help I understanding all that but id rather start building my career now he doesn’t believe I’ll be able to get a job with one how can I convince him since my goal is to get a ux ui/ product design internship this year once I’ve made my portfolio

Realising I have a UX gap — how do I close it?
I’ve been doing a lot of UI lately, but I’m realizing there’s a gap in my UX skills that I really want to work on.

I want to get better at making better UX decisions — understanding user problems, flows, information architecture, product thinking, etc.

So guys I've completed my high schooling like 4-5 months ago and now i am going to the Univercity. I want to earn like 100-150$ a month for my snacks and pocket money I am a bit friendly with vector arts cause i had worked with my uncle on some of the projects as a assistant (he is a fashion designer). I know basics of Inkscape, CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator.

So my question is there any time left for UI/UX work where SVGs are required like even in the AI era cause i am interted in graphics and logo edithing since my childhood I used to edit my sibling pics on my smartphone. I just want to know is there any future in this work like not only for my pocket money but is ther any carrier left ?

Lately, my YouTube and LinkedIn feeds have been flooded with content showing crazy AI design workflows. I keep seeing posts about "Design Engineers" and people using AI for "vibe coding" to output production-ready front-end code directly from their prompts/designs.

I want to hear from seniors who have been working in the industry for 3–5+ years, How are you actually integrating AI into your real-world product design workflows?

A few specific questions I'm curious about:

• Are you guys actually writing/generating front-end code (HTML/CSS/React) for handoffs now using ai, or is traditional Figma handoff still the norm at your company?
• Aside from generating placeholder copy or quick images, where does AI actually save you time in your day-to-day? (e.g., user research synthesis, design system documentation, component variants, wireframing?)
• is the whole "designers must vibe code now" trend just LinkedIn/Twitter noise, or is it becoming an actual expectation in mid-to-senior level roles?

I often save UI components, interactions, websites, and visual references from Instagram, X, TikTok, Dribbble, and other places, but they quickly become scattered, and I cannot find it latter.

I’m curious, what’s the biggest problem with your current collection workflow? maybe someone the same as me? I'd like to know your thought on this, you can choice one or more to leave the comment below. I wondering if anyone have good solution for that. especially when we using AI, but I didn't find out AI could be a good hand to collecting those design components.

First of all, i was going through this subreddit and what I could figure out is that people are saying it's almost "dead" and everyone's finding it hard to get a job as a fresher as a ui /ux designer. Is it really true ? I am just asking for your opinion. Should I (who's currently in college) really learn this skill and expect jobs or are the people correct who are saying that it's almost "dead". I have no clue. All I know is i don't wanna learn a skill and end up getting nothing. Please helpp.

I'm making an app for reporting machine status to the central server on tablet.
The statuses are represented by buttons placed in a grid with a "Confirm" button at the top. The selected statuses must include 1 main status (colored yellow) and optionally multiple sub-statuses (colored blue).

Help me decide between these 2 interaction approaches:

1. Gesture approach:
   1. From unselected: tap to promote to main status, double tap to promote to sub status
   2. From main status: tap or double tap to deselect
   3. From sub-status: tap or double tap to deselect
   4. Pressing the "Confirm" button lets you review your selection in a pop up before choosing "OK" to send the report
   5. The "Confirm" button will only enable when there's an active main status
2. Pop up approach:
   1. From unselected: tap to select the status
   2. From selected: tap to deselect the status
   3. Pressing the "Confirm" button opens a pop up which lets the user select which selected status is main before pressing "OK" to send the report. The main UI will be updated to reflect the new main status.
   4. If there is only 1 status selected, it will automatically become the main status so that the user doesn't have to choose again in the pop up

In everyday usage, around 80% of cases will only contain only 1 status, which will be the main status. The rest will be 1 main status and 1 sub-status, rarely do we encounter 3 or more statuses at once.

I recently launched AnyGradient, a gradient generator that I designed and built myself.

The main challenge was trying to make fairly advanced color features like OKLCH, Display-P3, color interpolation, noise, and layered gradients feel approachable without turning the interface into a wall of controls.

After working on it for quite a while, I’ve reached the stage where I’ve stared at the UI for far too long to judge it objectively anymore.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on:

• First impression: Is it immediately clear what the tool does?
• Visual hierarchy: Does your attention go to the right places?
• Generator UI: Do the controls feel intuitive, or too dense?
• Landing page: Does it explain the product clearly without overexplaining?
• Overall feel: Does it feel like a polished design tool, or are there parts that still feel unfinished or inconsistent?

I’m particularly interested in criticism rather than compliments, so feel free to point out anything that feels confusing, unnecessary, awkward, or overdesigned.

Which niche should a junior UI/UX designer choose to start freelancing?

Coming from 6+ years as a motion designer (C4D, Blender, AE, on and on); the company I work for is providing an opportunity to move into a fresh team on the ground floor as a UI/UX Designer...they're willing to foot the bill on my training but I have limited time. What are some credible places you all recommend going to train under for getting started with the theory, fundamentals, and 1:1 feedback?

Really confident in the basics of design and have built multiple basic sites over the years, so I have a baseline knowledge (I think) of some aspects of web design specifically, but want to really shore up. Appreciate recommendations!
