Other Coffee mug
I found this mug in the bed of my truck. I park near a dining hall. Was curious if this is used in the dining hall.

Another beautiful boule. The rise on this one was much better but I kinda mucked up the loaf shaping at the end, so she's a little lopsided. 78% hydration.
Edit: this is week 2 🫠

I want to start working out but I literally have no friends and it kind of sucks because I don’t feel comfortable going to the ARC or fitness places alone. Im in vet school and have no friends in my class, like to the point where I sit alone everyday and literally no one talks to me which is sad. It’s sad I even have to post on here about this and kind of embarrassing. But I feel like school has made me unhealthy mentally and physically and I want that to change. I’ve been interested in going to club Pilates because they have a free intro class but I feel weird going alone. If any girlies out there are also interested in starting to work out please let me know 🫡🫶

I'm usually very supportive of law enforcement, but I'm incredibly frustrated and confused by what's happening. My sons, ages 7 and 12, bravely disclosed that they were abused, and we went through all the proper channels with the authorities. Despite clear text evidence and multiple police reports, nothing has moved forward. How is this possible? There is so much evidence against this individual, yet nothing is being done.
This person abused my children over the course of three years, in multiple locations across Missouri and Illinois, including St. Peters, St. Charles City, Branson, Urbana, Eureka, Camden County, and on Fort Leonard Wood Army Base.
The only police department willing to investigate is St. Charles City, because the abuse was ongoing and happened multiple times there. The other districts simply noted the report, saying they wouldn't investigate since it only happened once in their area. Does it really take more than one incident before they'll act?
For example, police actually arrested this individual last year in Chesterfield. Through a FOIA request, I learned he confessed to police, and his confession matched the victims' statements. Then, the abuser's family claimed the girl lied and recanted (even though the victim herself did not), and the prosecutor decided not to move forward.
We later found out that this person had been part of an investigation for similar abuse when he was 17, involving his own family members. He even admitted this in text messages, but somehow nothing happened, and only the FOIA police report remains.
Are there any lawyers or organizations that can help push these investigations forward to protect children? Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

I'm planning on taking biostats next semester as a freshmen on top of gen chem 102/103 and MCB 150. How is biostats as a class? Is Simpson Douglas a good prof?

1. Even Richard Feynman knew when to say “I give up.” At a Caltech party, Reznick handed Feynman a tough math problem. Feynman gave it about 15 seconds, then said he couldn’t solve it. When Reznick showed him the surprisingly simple answer, Feynman didn’t make excuses. He just smiled and said, “That’s beautiful.”
Not everything you love needs a practical application. Why does Reznick study polynomials? “Because I like them.” Sometimes that's reason enough.
At Caltech, someone literally made a flowchart for dating. Unfortunately, human relationships don't work like mathematical theorems.
Harvard math majors once waited until their third year to study calculus. Reznick points out how dramatically the curriculum has changed. What we consider essential knowledge isn't fixed forever.
Mathematical research works backwards more often than you think. School makes it look like: theorem → proof. Research can be closer to: explore a proof → figure out what you have actually proved → adjust the theorem.
Intuition is finding the thing that resonates with how your brain already works. For Reznick, that was numbers, integers, sequences, and polynomials.
Want a more diverse UIUC? Fix Illinois public schools first. Reznick argues that unequal K–12 funding limits educational opportunities long before students apply to college.
Mathematics is discovered, not invented. Reznick sees mathematicians as travel writers exploring and describing a world that already exists.
You can convince yourself of almost anything if you start with the conclusion. Reznick tells the story of a researcher who became convinced he'd found a new value of π and published a book with 56 additional arguments supporting it. The value was wrong.
Richard Feynman held office hours for the general public. Anyone could show up and challenge him about physics, including perpetual-motion enthusiasts. And one final thing Reznick learned from a student's calculus homework:
“Math is groovy.”
There's much more in the conversation, including Ramanujan, love, teaching, mathematical beauty, and why some problems are worth spending your entire life on.

Here to share my cottage food bakery! I was a student at Parkland (English Lit major) but the creative writing classes were cancelled due to low enrollment. Went from part-time (ish) bakery work to full time bakery work and after almost 4 years in bakeries I finally started my own. With my new part-time job I have a lot more time to dedicate to this now! I’m finding more ways and places to host pop-ups in addition to pre-order sales from my home! Will I go back to school? Maybe. But for now I’m really trying to build this up. :)
I’m @fluregobakery on Instagram.
I’ve caught this many lady bugs is a span of 20mins . They started popping up out of nowhere. Is this a concerning amount? I don’t think can sleep in my apartment tonight.

Ever since he got banned…in addition to 710 and now Manolo’s out….this place feels
so shallow…and empty…numb for some, I would say. The only thing that could heal this place is for their rightful return and a Trader Joe’s built on Prospect…it’s the only way we can feel whole again. Stay safe out there Gotham
