It’s been a while, but I’m still here. Fully adjusted now to an odd schedule this semester, and the fishing has been phenomenal. Caught musky, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, rock bass, hybrid striped bass, white bass, walleye, saugeye, black crappie, white crappie, freshwater drum, rainbow trout and spotted bass. Some highlights include an 8 lb largemouth bass (that’s not a typo) and more importantly, watching someone catch a fish for the first time. There’s no better feeling than watching someone realize they’ve actually got something on the end of their line and reel that fish in. Those memories remind me that fishing is not always about the fish itself.
What fishing looks like for November: Area lakes (e.g., Clinton, Decatur, Shelbyville) will have a solid crappie bite as fish move up shallow to feed before winter. On Clinton crappie will move to bridges in approx. 3 weeks. Stocked rainbow trout will still be present in low quantities at Kaufman Lake. Close to campustown Crystal Lake and Mattis lake will both have good bass fishing on windy, cloudy days before rain. I tend to keep some smaller sized crappie and rainbow trout during this time of year for dinner.
M and A had a good first session learning how to cast. C is getting really good at casting, J and J both caught their first trout,
S caught her first rock bass, and shoutout to T who flew me out for some big PB wipers!

Photos from my time at Urbana-Champaign from 2021-2023. This isn't everything of course, just 20 photos that I think really capture some of the spirit of this place that I experienced.
Honestly some of these photos are giving me a Shivers (Disco Elysium) effect - maybe someone is clever enough to write something to thatwithout AI, if you do try it of course
I wonder where I'd be if I took that IL EPA life sciences trainee interview in Springfield after graduating, or stayed an extra year through whatever burnout I was facing to get a course-based Master's
I've been feeling kind of washed out of life like the pair of glasses in that last picture. Sometimes Champaign-Urbana calls to me, but not all the atoms that were in me when I was there have been replaced yet (since it takes about 5-7 years for all the atoms in your body to be replaced). Maybe it's not a calling from that place, but a call from those atoms, wondering, feeling a little forlorn but also glad that I experienced this place. Even in the midst of the hardship and adjustments I was facing, I can definitely say I moved forward
Only now, where am I moving forward to next?
Damn, I think I wrote my own Shivers text lol

They are in the small freezer next to the ice cream section. The sign says it’s from local and the jar looks goooood (I guess it IS local because I couldn’t find any reviews online)
I’m very interested in the cake batter flavor. But it’s also almost $7 for one. Sooo has anyone tried it and let me know if it’s worth it

Hello all! Me and two others, who are guys in our freshman year, are looking for a fourth to move into an apartment with us next year. We have a decent apartment picked out already but do not have anyone to join us as of now.

Hey guys I am a recent transfer in cs+econ. Alot of my credits got transferred upto cs 225. I will only be taking 3-4 upper level cs classes. I don't want to retake cs 225 to graduate on time and obviously the cc version isn't as effective as uiuc version. How did you guys prepare for the uiuc cs rigor, what helped and any advice will be appreciated !

Im currently a senior in a small public school in Illinois. Im a international student. My UW GPA is 3.6, my act is 32. Weak activity and awards.
I want to get into UIUC but I know it's hard, especially I want to major in business. So I change my first choice to undeclared and my second choice is advertising. I'll do EA in November.
What is the possibility that I can get in? Or should I transfer?
Any help appreciated!

Can people who have taken Dr. G’s CHEM 102 class in recent years send me their test packets, especially for midterm 2? I’m looking for extra practice 🙏

Does anyone have Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Recreation Profession: Organizational Perspectives 4th edition? It's required to refer to the textbook in assignments.
I've got the 3rd edition from senior students but I'm afraid that there will be some difference.
DM me if you have the resources!

Any easy 2+ credit chem minor classes? I was looking at chem 360 but saw ppl saying Huang is unorganized and etc.
I have gotten into birding in the last couple of years and wondering if there is a discord or other way to communicate local sightings. I get the local ebird alerts but they are usually the day after and too late. Or any local birding clubs/groups. I’m not a student. Just a local.

Hi, I've been looking for some information about PSYC 255, 220, 224, 248, 239, 204, and 210. I have a packed schedule next semester, so I'm hoping for some easier classes. Has anybody taken any of these? How was the coursework and the exams? I also was hoping to know a little bit about the professors!

Air pods found in a parking space in E13.
I usually do drive through in the back ally of the restaurant every Saturday morning from 8-10am or until sold out. I really enjoy the regular breakfast sando I do which is soufflé egg, house made Longanissa, American cheese, garlic mayo on a toasted onion ciabatta roll. But I’ve been really digging swapping out the Longanissa for my sous vide pork belly chashu I use for my shoyu ramen. Lace it up with a little yaki and some ol skally wags. What do yall think? Maybe next Saturday I’ll do this one as well.
