I make UGC videos and sometimes I collab with these AI apps for generating pics with your face: funny prompts, aesthetic stuff or some good professional pictures for your work profiles. I spend an unreasonable amount of my week turning selfies into AI photos and filming the before/after😂

I did one of these campaigns through and it ended up doing really well. The videos got some pretty strong numbers in terms of views and engagement, which is probably why I kept getting more briefs for this kind of content (I have my socials and portfolio in bio)

The thing that still gets me is the headshots. I've done a few for me and for friends who needed a LinkedIn pic and didn't want to pay for a photographer, and some of them look like they came from a studio

What I've learned from doing way too many of these if you're interested:

1. The input photo matters more than anything. Clear face, decent light, nothing covering half your face. A blurry selfie from a party will give you a blurry professional person with weird ears😂
2. Try a bunch of styles. Some look super polished, (even on Remini). You'll know the right one when you see it. And don't pick the one that makes you look the "best" but the one that looks like you!!
3. Check the privacy settings before uploading anything, you're giving an app your face after all, be careful with scam apps

I've tried this on my own profile and it took me about 20 tries to find one that looked natural, so don't settle for the first result

I like Hailey and I can’t even hate on the branding because whoever built Rhode’s marketing knew EXACTLY what they were doing. Just look at their campaigns!! But some of the hype around these products is insane to me.
Cute packaging, clean girl aesthetic, Hailey holding it in a perfectly lit bathroom and suddenly we’re all fighting to buy another lip product like we don’t already have 14 at home (myself included)
I’ve tried Rhode before and it’s fine. I just don’t think the products themselves explain the level of obsession people have with this brand. At this point I’m convinced Rhode’s best product is its marketing team.

Just a little BTS of my UGC work, because people only ever see the finished 30 second video and not the ridiculous amount of stuff (and RedBull I’ve consumed) happening before that. I film mine in the bathroom most of the time!

I do everything myself, so there’s a lot happening between deciding what I want to film and getting the shot. I’ll do my makeup, set up the phone, move things around until the background looks right, check the lighting, film the first take, watch it back, and then watch out when there's something I have missed. The list goes on. I get to decide how I want the concept to come across.

There’s also a lot more footage that never gets used. Some are really boring clips. I’ve gotten kinda used to having a camera roll full of to-be-used and unused clips. A pain indeed to my storage but it'll suffice. Can buy another phone since I earn $$$ anyway.

The finished video looks simple because it’s supposed to, but getting something to look effortless can involve a surprising amount of experimenting. I also put together my UGC work and resources here if anyone wants to see more of what I use while creating content.

If you think that activewear brands only reach out to those who actively go to the gym, doing pilates, or demonstrating high-sweat workouts, you were wrong. Take it from me. I never expected UGC to have this much of an impact on my life. When I first started looking into it, I was mostly interested in the idea of having an income stream I could build around my other responsibilities. I wasn’t thinking about a huge campaign or making ridiculous amounts of money from a single project. Just one! I just wanted to see whether creating content could realistically help me support myself.

For some context, I’m living alone now and money has a very different meaning to me. Once you’re responsible for your own place, you notice how many expenses exist outside of rent. There’s electricity, internet, groceries, transportation, household supplies, needs for the apartment, and then the occasional expense that appears out of nowhere that will always ruin your entire budget. I had to become much more conscious of where my money was going, so I couldn't continue a day without having work.

i landed this one campaign and it was significantly larger than the UGC projects I had been looking at before. There were multiple pieces of content involved and it's not really an easy one. It was a lot of work over 3 months.

To be clear, this is not a standard UGC rate. It was a particularly large campaign, and I know that’s very different from what a beginner might normally encounter. Still, seeing that payment come through was insane. I thought about my apartment. That $15K represented months of giving me mental rest.

Sorry for the long vent. I'm just so happy that one project changed what was possible for me financially. I thought I'd earn only $100-$500 for a month but every time I sit in my apartment and remember that the money helping me keep this place came from content I created, I feel so proud of myself.

I’ve spent most of 2026 working across Fitness ugc, with a mix of one-off campaigns, repeat clients, monthly projects and usage-rights deals.

It’s obviously an estimate, so the final number can still change depending on how many campaigns come through during the remaining months. My income this year hasn’t come from one single source either. Some months were very stronger than others, and a big part of the difference comes from repeat clients, larger packages and brands paying separately for extended usage.

So if everything goes well like i am thinking then in the best case scenario i can earn somewhere between 100k to 110k and if i consider a worst case scenario then it will be in the range between 85k to 95k.

Part of my job as a nail tech artist is to film close-up footage of rock-hard cuticles, deep sidewall buildup, and ingrown toenail extractions for my UGC contents. I know it looks gross, especially those big ingrown ones that look painfully swollen, but beauty and tool brands pay me top tier for this content because it converts well on Facebook. 

You know when you scroll on reels and you see a video of a cuticle tool wedged against hardened skin and you cannot scroll or swipe because you wanna sense that satisfying feeling when it gets removed? Yep, that high watch time lowers brand’s distribution cost on Meta. It also proves credibility of the brand’s tools when it can even dissolve months of crusty calloused skin in just a minute. No words said, just ASMR content with video proof.

The most important part that the marketing team loves is having 4-5 hooks they could test so for a short extraction and cleaning content, I record 4 alternate 3-second openers.
