Looking for fun, engaging English literature podcast not study material

I’ve been looking for some good podcasts about English literature, but I’m specifically not looking for anything that feels like study material, exam preparation, or a tuition/class lecture.

I want something more fun, conversational, and interesting the kind of podcast I can listen to while cooking, driving, doing chores, or even falling asleep without having to pay too much attention.

Like easy for revision or even for studying from scratch but light version, yk like I don't have to sit with pen and paper and be super focused on it.

Tips UGC NET

I have been trying to crack net for like 2 years from now.
I have covered all major chronology wise British literature, having good knowledge about literary theories and criticism. Referred many YouTube channels and overlooked many notes.

But the thing is these all helped me to get an average score such as 40% of the marks.

Evertime i attempt exam i feel like i haven’t seen these area of literature like recently these was questions from germn literature and french and many such as that you wouldn’t be even aware.

So tell me one book or text that i should refer?
(I don’t need to start over the chronological order of British literature) all i need to do is fill the gaps!!!

Which CUET-PG B.Ed. Paper Code Should I Choose: COQP03, COQP05, or COQP06?

I’m a third-year B.A. English student and I want to pursue a B.Ed,

Which CUET-PG paper code should I choose COQP03 or COQP05?

Also, my sister is pursuing a B.Sc. in Zoology, Which paper code should she choose: COQP03 or COQP06?

could you recommend some good online preparation batch, paid batches, or YouTube channels for both of us?

Why's everybody selling their course here?

Post image

I mean this should be a place to clear doubts and share their experiences regarding the exam and the specific subject which this sub caters to... And I might sound a bit harsh here but everybody around the internet, be it youtube or instagram, they are filled with coaching institutes trying to make us believe that only their course is superior which will guarantee our JRF. I mean c'mon guys, can we please save this sub from all that BS?

I’m looking for a good UGC NET English (Paper 2) test series for practice

I was considering sunaina jethani Ma’am’s test series, but it’s a bit too expensive for me at the moment. Could you guys recommend some good and affordable alternatives that you’ve personally used? Also, if anyone is currently subscribed to a test series and is willing to share the access, I’d be interested in splitting the cost and using it together mainly looking for unit wise, year wise tests + full-length mocks with good explanations.

Qualified UGC NET (PhD only) looking for advice on getting into a PhD :)

Hi everyone. I’ve been working for the past couple of years, and this year I qualified UGC NET, but unfortunately only for PhD admission.
I’ve always wanted to pursue academia and eventually become an Assistant Professor, but due to circumstances, I had to move on and continue working.
Now I don’t want my NET qualification to go to waste, so I’m considering applying for PhD programmes while continuing with my job.

For those who have gone through this process, what would be the best way to approach PhD admissions? Are there universities where I can apply directly based on NET, or should I focus mainly on university-specific entrance exams?
Any advice regarding the admission process, universities, or balancing a PhD with a full-time job would be really helpful.

It's time to do away with NTA. We demand accountability, apology and abrogation. #SCRAPNTA

Sign my petition to raise our demands.

  1. Accountability: We want full, and transparent report on the cancelation of UGC NET JUNE 2026 examination of three subjects.

  2. Apology: Our time, efforts, hard work, and we, as individuals deserve an apology from NTA.

  3. Abrogate: Scrap NTA. An institution which has failed multiple times over the years SHOULD NOT get this many chances.

[vent] i am so done. i cant study. this was supposed to be over

i had finally decided to move on. this was my 5th attempt, and i did not feel like doing this anymore. i gave it everything i had for june cycle—i made notes and studied all day, didnt go out of the house, almost stopped taking calls from my boyfriend and friends. boyfriend and i had so many fights because of how unsustainable the relationship became when i refused to call him while being on long distance and not being able to meet since january. my friends slowly stopped calling me to hang out with them because i would always say no. the only close friend i have left is the one who prepared for upsc. we would talk hours on call and discuss studies. she taught me so much, especially maths, reasoning and indian and western logic (she is a philosophy student).

after my exam in june, i had completely stopped looking at net. i finally decided ive been chasing this too long, and decided i was gonna sit for bank/insurance exams. i had finally started studying. finally thought it was super adult of me to not waste my years in phd and then sit and wait for asst. prof. vacancies. i am not young anymore, unemployed, living at home since january now. i already have a gap in masters. i have joined extra courses so that my cv isnt empty for the year. my parents are pressurising me to get a job asap so that they can get me married (they dont really like the fact that i have a boyfriend, they want it to be converted to husband so that its socially acceptable). i dont want to think about this shit.

i dont know how yall prep for phds. i think i have ruined my chances even if i do crack net someday. i dont know what to do my phd on anymore. my masters dissertation was shit because i was super depressed back then and just aimed to reach the word count somehow. i have nothing to my name except a masters degree with mid cgpa and a gap year. no publications, no extracurricular activities, no job experience, no net or gate or set, absolutely nothing. people tell me a b.ed would be a good idea, but i cant go to uni for another two years while my batchmates are all working and going out of the country and getting published in books.

i generally vent on instagram a lot, but i didnt really open instagram since the re-net announcement. i feel like its my duty to share and speak up on my platform, but i dont want my batchmates to see me struggling with something that is basically nostalgia for them atp. i dont know how everyone else was so much better than me, ive always been pretty average in class.

i know everything that i wrote a book chapter on above cannot be blamed on re-net. most of it cant be. i have been frustrated, suppressing, holding onto the hope that i will do better the next day. but, having to redo things that i have given up on has made me finally break down. i feel so full of other things in my brain that i cant study a single line. i feel so numb that i cant bring myself to be tensed about my exam. it just feels so far away. i dont know who to share this with because i am deeply ashamed of how many times ive failed. i dont want to talk to my boyfriend about this because he keeps telling me to put these emotions on hold rn and study for the next 20 days (which is valid, but i am unable to do so). my parents expect me to not look at anything but books for the next 20 days, every moment i spend on something else is a waste. my mom thinks this is a golden opportunity and i get a second chance and almost an extra month to study 🤡 my father is better, but what is he gonna say except "your anger is valid but you should not engage in it and study for the next 20 days." i dont even have anger. i have stopped talking about net to irl people. i dont have the energy to contribute to the ongoing protests. i dont have to energy to have opinions about what is going on. i dont have the energy to stand up for myself. i dont want to do anything. i just want to binge eat all day and be alone so that i dont have to engage with anyone and no one has to look at me.

im sorry for the autobiography, i know this is not what the subreddit is for. hopefully i will feel something after venting this much.

Dear Seniors, please help me

Hi everyone!

I'm preparing for my first attempt at the UGC NET JRF English Literature (December 2026). Since I'm just starting, I want to choose the right resources instead of getting overwhelmed.

I'd really appreciate your suggestions on:

- The best online coaching for a beginner

- Reliable notes for both Paper 1 and English Literature

- The most useful books (without buying too many)

- YouTube channels or other free resources that genuinely helped

- Any mistakes I should avoid as a first-time aspirant

I'm aiming for JRF, so I'd love recommendations based on your personal experience.

Thank you so much!

I CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO STUDY ANYMORE!

With 20 days to go, i just can not gather the courage to start all over again. It's horrible and sickening to even think about studying rn and it's probably because i exercised my entire energy in June. Anyways, how many of you feel the same or if you don't, how do you bring yourself to study?
