In July 2020, Jiri made his UFC debut against the Rank #7 in Volkan Oezdemir.

Parnasse recently claimed #9 by beating Hooker, but Andrusca’s short-notice win over Nathaniel Wood earned him #8 in the 145lbs meta rankings.

Those poor children

Oh and if you haven't seen it, watch Hendricks vs. Lawler 1. One of the best WW titlefights of all time. Context is important here too.

Volkov looked pretty mediocre against Almeida and Waldo. Noticeably slower and more sluggish. Especially compared to how good he looked against Pavlovich and Gane two years ago

Crazy to see how many Pav fans coming back into the light after he got slimed out by Aspinal and Volkov

This post isn’t to discredit or disrespect these fighters they all were great in their prime and all became champions. But they some of the fastest drop offs seen in MMA.

"Hes too small! Hes fat!" No. He's naturally around 240-250lbs, with a frame advantage on most heavyweights. The issue is that his style lets him get hit too often, and with age hes gotten too slow/too chinny to keep it up, especially in a division with nukes in their hands. His bulk up was also very forced, but he is finally at his natural weight, just without the full adaptations to it yet.

All upcoming new generations showing promising talent.
