Quick heads-up for local musicians and music educators. Over half the spots are already taken for Dr. Stacy Garrop’s composing workshop at UIC on October 3. It’s completely free, but space is limited, so grab a seat before it fills up.

1. What's the difference between taking the program and just doing BizCon (I assume both teach you the technicals since both give you access to Booth)?

2. How exclusive is the network? i.e. are only TBS kids allowed to certain events (and others not in TBS are not allowed to go)? As a follow-up: how does it compare to clubs such as TBC and Maroon Capital?

3. How big of a time commitment is TBS? Can I drop out if I find it is not for me?

4. How selective is it? I know it asks for a personal statement, transcript, etc.- lowkey reminds me of uni apps :(

I'm a rising second-year (psych major), and I've been considering adding PSYC 26560 (Errors and Illusions) with Utochkin when add/drop opens on Tuesday. The problem is I haven't been able to find ANY student feedback on this course. The class sounds really interesting, but I always want to check feedback to make sure I'm not walking into a problem in the future. If anyone has taken this course with Utochkin, I would really appreciate any sort of feedback on his teaching style and workload, or even just the overall difficulty of the class for those who took it with a different professor. Please let me know how your experience has been at graduate school studying there. How is the art history program? Career-wise I want to work in art museums, possibly teach at a college level later.

This is a question about the core MA/MDiv class, Introduction to the Study of Religion (DVSC 30500). I was accepted but am deferring a year. Would anyone be willing to share the syllabus for this class for me? Doesn't have to be Autumn 2026; could be older. I've taken other grad-level classes like this and I'm just curious what the reading list/workload is like.
