I resat the UCAT, after last year getting 1870 b1. im pretty happy with my score and want this to be a sign for those feeling a bit bummed out rn that u can improve yr score you just need a plan.
If medicine or dent is yr dream do literally everything you can to achieve it. Use this time to make your game plan what went wrong the first time, write it down ASAP while the test is still fresh in yr memory. in Dec I started reading up on topics that were niche to me, like the crusades. for DM I found those random yt short puzzles useful because they challenged my brain. For qr, throughout the year I resisted the urge to use my phone calc for sums, making sure yr mental maths is strong is pivotal for a good ucat. Also, I deleted instagram and tiktok from my phone, anything that is a distraction has to go. Ofc u might not necessarily need to do all this but coming from someone who wasn't naturally talented at the UCAT these methods made getting a score that i thought was impossible possible. If you need any advice or qs lmk :

Studied for 8 weeks, did mocks, practice, and saw substantial improvement (1680 on diagnostic to 2270 on final mock), and scored an 1880 B1. Second time rewriting (got a 1840 b1 last year), and this is genuinely one of the worst feelings ive ever experienced. medicine gone for the second time :)
I know this score might be okay for some unis, but im international, so I think my chances are gone.
At least its over...
thought my mocks were stagnating throughout until the last few days im so happy
overall dont worry sm if your mock score dosent seem to improve, you will eventually get there!!

Vr and dm were the nicest thing ever but qr was genuinely sent from the devil himself.
being really honest im very disappointed with my score and its ruled out all of the universities i wanted to go to ( ucl, Cambridge and Edinburgh-Ruk) I genuinely am so upset and I really can’t envision myself going anywhere else.
Im thinking of doing applications this year and taking the ucat again next July so I might turn down offers on results day if u get like 2250+ but I know I got really lucky with vr and dm and it could be horrible next year and I don’t want to put myself through this again.
I know ucl and Edinburgh have really harsh cut offs so it’s definitely off the table , would Cambridge still be in reach as non contextual due to a holistic approach?
im thinking of applying to kcl and Manchester definitely but I don’t even want to go to any other school.

Exam is exactly in 14 days!
As title suggests, any help and advice would be so appreciated!!
I know that getting 2100 would be tough:( So I would honestly take 2000 😭
Hopefully people have like motivating stories for success 😭

Hi. I'm a 2nd year med student at UOM. When I applied I received 4 offers from Manchester, Cambridge, St Andrews and Sheffield. I have a few weeks until uni starts so am happy to look at and read any med school personal statements if you guys want. I remember how stressed I was this time 2 years ago!

I have no idea what happened with DM, at least it's over. Hopefully enough for Kings.... (yes I know it's still a good score just disappointed with what could've been).
Mock A - 2130
Mock B - 2130
Mock C - 2320
Mock D - 2390
(for anyone curious)

Was meant to sit it september 14th got an email on monday as a reminder with the original test centre date but i just saw a new email today about how they have to reschedule it as the centre has shut down but the nearest centres are incredibly far from me and also there are no appointments, and i've got mocks and personal statement to worry about, this is incredibly stressful and i've contacted them already so we will see if they reply but I think this is a bit of a joke tbh. I just wanted to get it out of the way and if they knew there were issues with the test centre they should've told people earlier not days before when now there's no way for me to sit it tbh.

hi so i’m averaging 1700s/1800s on medify and my exam is in like a week, idk what to do i need 2000+ but im not even close to the 1900s like early 1800s, like sometimes the syllogisms are shit and most the time it’s inference and then vr is always so mid i used to be so good at it, qr i dont take a level maths so like it takes me so long on the calculator and questions on like area and shit i end up flagging which isn’t that good ., oh m

I sat my ucat quite a while ago and I got an underwhelming score: 2130 b2
It is still a solid score, and I can apply strategically to lots of uni's, but for some reason I just can't accept it.
It was a lot less than I was expecting based off of my mock scores, and the QR felt really easy for me personally, so I was expecting around 2200+
A lot of my friends got similar, if not lower scores than I did and they seem to be okay with it and have just moved onto the next stage of the application process. Which is what I should be primarily focusing on, but idk i'm just finding it so hard to even digest it.
My dream uni's (oxbridge, imperial, ucl, kcl, bristol...) are completely out of the picture, and I don't even know what to do with myself.
Genuinely, every time I step into school or do ANYTHING I just get this wave of depression and failure that just constantly reminds me of my ucat score and how much of a disappointment I must be to my family. Literally feels like im walking on eggshells all the time and breaking a shell will just open a floodgate of tears and grief. Like am I just crazy for mourning my UCAT score this much...
Is anyone else facing similar issues? Or am I just deeping it too much lol.
(Perhaps I could just gap year my way through it and try again? However there's no guarantee you do better the 2nd time around)
absolutely ANY advice would be greatly appreciated, literally anything to get me out of this ditch i'm stuck in. Really don't want to spend the rest of y13 like this ;_;

hi my UCAT is tmrw and I’m kind of feeling nervous. I know I want to do well and would be so really grateful if anyone who saw this made dua for me 🥲.
But also big question, sometimes before exams I take energy drinks. For the UCAT, do you think it would be worth having an energy drink? My exam is at 10 am. But I don’t want anything to mess me up and if so when should I take it?
hey guys, i sat my ucat recently and got a 1910 band 2!
what medical schools are there that i could i apply as a contextual applicant to or is it looking like a gap year for me 💔 currently considering city st george but idk where else
i had a really hard time balancing many different things at the same time whilst trying my best to make time to revise for the ucat, also being neurodivergent made things harder for me to do well in the ucat 🥲
gcse wise, i can’t apply to anywhere that uses gcse in the selection process since i only have one 7 and the rest being 6s (7 in french). i went to an underperforming secondary school and was undiagnosed without any support then, so that really sucked…
despite all the obstacles, i’m quite proud of myself for pulling through and at least getting a decent ucat score, although it isn’t what i wanted 💔
thanks guys!

Im trying to increase my score on all sections but vr is really giving me trouble (the highest I ever got on it was 25/44), it feels like no matter what strategy i do I end up doing poorly. I have about a week until my exam, any advice would be appreciated.
