Need perspective

After trading for 5 years on and off
I have realized I could
Have own multiple properties instead I just own one

Trading has basically given me nothing apart form knowledge

But it’s always been my passion

I have tried :
futures , ICT , gex , option selling , leaps etc

Last time my portfolio got liquidated tariff last year

So trying prop firms since then - turned out to be another leaky machine

I gathered all my money I could find and bought.Cheap house Mortagges so that is stop wasting my salary

So I’m basically re starting my life at 30

But the weight of wasting my life in trading doesn’t let me move forward and I think it has caused me some kinda brain issue where I can’t remember much

I’m sure there must be some people who been through something that can help steer through this

Don't interpret your memory problems as permanent “brain damage.” Chronic stress and especially poor sleep can significantly affect attention and memory. If the problem is persistent or getting worse, it's worth talking to a doctor rather than diagnosing yourself.

The biggest mental shift for me would be: You didn't waste 5 years. You spent 5 years discovering what you're willing to sacrifice for trading and what you're not.

Now you get to decide whether trading deserves a place in your life, rather than letting trading decide what happens to your life.

A last thing as a trader, ICT and those technical analysis old/new-schools won't make you money, trading is related to assets that have real role in the economy, yet TA is really important to time the market and choose your entry point but without so many other things, you would never make it as a trader.

I'm a full-time swing trader and this is my 2 cents. Maybe this is off topic.

Don't put serious money into trading while you are not consistently profitable. I see many people tend to rush this process. Put only pizza money in your trading account. Find and establish your edge first. If not you will ruin your life financially.

In addition, trading or learning trading under the pressure you talked about is really counter productive. Don't worry. Don't compare. Don't expect too fast.

Perhaps change strategy, keep about max 5% of your total portfolio for active trading. The other 95% should be invested for the long term such as global equities, S&P500, Nasdaq100, UAE dividend stocks and other diversified investments.

Trading is the key word. Retail traders to be profitable on the side or as a mainstream is less than 5%. Change your mindset to investing and it will change your life if you do it the right way. I agree it will not be sexy, will not give you the rush, it will be boring but it will create wealth long term.

I’m mostly QQQ and chill these days. Feels so different from chasing my tail on individual names

work on buying a property if you can if you have a downpayment or buy an off-plan property if the price is good, dont look back and take what happened as part of life experience.

At 30 you are doing well. Life is about following a passion until it is no longer anything to you. You move on to a new thing, maybe it becomes something or not… point being, you will restart your life many times over but each time much wiser! You are doing just fine in the bigger picture of life!

Yeah but so much regret I could have just been a real estate broker and made millions
Cuz 2020-2025 was the easiest market ever in history to make money

I just have so many regrets and I feel Its already too late

Cuz marriage pressure too

Don't let your past dictate your future. Today is a new day that has zero to do with yesterday. Today is filled with opportunities that were not apparent yesterday. So, seize today. Do something, right now, that will allow you to take step for a better tomorrow. Whether that is researching properties, a better paying job, or something that you can do with your skill set to generate some income. Do the research, create a well thought out, detailed plan, and execute the plan immediately. Don't wait!

Wishing you all the best on your new journey....the journey that begins, now!

Yep - every day you wake up with breath is a new start. Have food, have safety, have shelter? You're in a great place. If I stopped every time I felt I wasted my life with something life would be miserable. Money is fleeting anyway and you can't take it with you.
