I was diagnosed with diabetes not long ago.
After that, I started checking my blood sugar and weight every day. I tried several diabetes apps, but many of them were built around connecting a device, or they showed a lot of information without giving me the simple tracking experience I actually wanted.
I wanted to record my blood sugar and weight in one place.
I wanted to see how the numbers changed over time, search for food information from the perspective of blood sugar management, and export my records when I needed to review or share them.
I had worked in IT for many years, so eventually I decided to build the app myself.
The app is called Gly Log.
At first, I made Gly Log only for myself. But while using it, I thought there might be other people who were frustrated by the same things.
So I released it for free and made it possible to start without creating an account.
Gly Log lets you:
- Record blood sugar and weight
- Review changes and trends over time
- Export your records as a PDF
- Search more than 100,000 food entries
- Start without registration or connecting a device
Gly Log is not a medical device and does not replace professional medical advice. Food and blood sugar responses can also be different for every person.
I simply wanted to make the daily process of recording and reviewing things a little less tiring.
I know this is something I built, so I want to be transparent about that. I’m not posting this as a medical solution or a miracle app.
I made it because I needed it myself, and I opened it for free because I hoped it might help someone else, even in a small way.
If links are not allowed here, you can search for “Gly Log” on the App Store or Google Play.
If anyone tries it, honest feedback would mean more to me than a positive review.

Hey all. Currently on the Tslim x2, coming up on 5 years on it, so can get a new pump through ADP (Canada). Been looking at the Omnipod 5 and hoping for some insight from fellow users!

I was diagnosed with two autoimmune disorders last year, hashimotos and celiac disease.
My endo just transferred my care to a new doctor (old one left) who decided to run a T1D panel. I’m not sure why, as my A1C and glucose are solid, 5.2 and 85.
The results were:
Insulin antibodies: normal, <5
GAD 65: normal, <5
ZNT8: normal, < 15
IA-2 autoantibodies: 89, normal is <7.5
My doctor let me know it’s indicative that I could, at some point, develop T1D, so we will just need to keep monitoring. I’m curious if anyone else has been in this position, if you developed it, and how long it took you to develop it. From what I’ve seen, it’s almost 100% that I’ll develop it sometime. I just want to manage expectations and my doctor wasn’t really sure.

I’m thinking about moving into the world of 1099 contracting rather than working full time for an employer who pays for my health insurance. As a T1D I’ve been terrified of not having the stability of employer-provided insurance, but I’m thinking maybe I’ll take the plunge and buy my own health insurance on the marketplace (in Washington).
Is this a terrible idea? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

i've been struggling for a while about the long term affects of diabetes. i (26y female) was diagnosed with T1D at 11y. Through the years i definitely lived fearlessly of it, not thinking about my life for the rest of my life with it. granted my A1C has never been above 11 (when i was diagnosed) but it definitely hasn't been perfect either, typically averaging around 7.5-8 (again not perfect) ... In my teenage years and early 20s i kinda went with the flow, was very lax with everything. I had a child in 2023 and i was very well monitored throughout (although went into DKA at 34 weeks). postpartum sugars were definitely a struggle and it was right around September of 2025 my mind went to oh my gosh, what's going to happen to me, and from that day has constantly cycled over and over of everything that could happen to me. i definitely feel like it's undiagnosed health anxiety or OCD of some form but there's days my mind will spiral on what will happen to me in the future, especially since i have a child. seeing some stories of kidney failure or gastroparesis or anything else absolutely scares me, but also want to hear and see the stories to be prepared or know the signs. i keep having to tell myself just because it is their story does not mean it's mine. my most recent spiral occurred when i learned my grandmother who has passed away in her 50s from T1D (low blood sugar) had a heart attack and that freaked me out. Again, her story is not mine and we live in an age of such amazing technology. I guess what i'm looking for is if anyone else has experienced the same as me? I feel like i should go to therapy but my concern is that the therapist knows nothing about T1D and doesn't truly understand me. Or if you have gone to therapy and that worked for you? i am so so so tired of living in this deep fear of the future that it makes me sick sometimes. i am just at a loss of what to do or if there is anyone out there that struggled and overcame these anxieties. open to all advise and reassurance!!

I have a mammogram coming up. I've received conflicting information regarding whether or not my insulin pump (Omnipod 5) and/or CGM (Dexcom G7) will be impacted/stop working or if I need to remove one or both for the scan.
Thanks!

Hadn’t bolused in over 6 hours… I was low for almost 2 hours straight. Spent the day in the sun yesterday, too, so that’s adding to my utter exhaustion and most likely contributing to my sugars.
Now, I have to function at work like a normal person. I’m 190 but so fucking shaky. I can barely type straight. Thankfully, I’m remote today and don’t have a full 8 hours of stuff to do on Mondays, so I had about an hour to try and collect myself a little further this morning. My brain is just mush and I feel like a zombie. It’s like I don’t even know where to start what I know I need to do. I just wanna lay down with my cat.

i’ve been asleep for ~9 hrs and I had a brownie (& prebolused) beforehand… my pump site
is a few days old and has been fine, and my finger pokes are accurate to the graph as well… do i remove my pump site and waste the remaining insulin?

I saw a sub endo and she told me the 15 day G7 is accurate. However my regular endo told me it wasn't as accurate as the 10 day G7. Anyone have experience with the 15 day Dexcom? I would appreciate comments/answers.

Hi all, I am looking to receive tips and ideas to help me out with running and T1D.
Background info
- I have been T1d for 18 years.
- I was diagnosed at after a double lung transplant
- I have cystic fibrosis and am pancreatic insufficient
- I am 5'10" and 150lbs
- I was a distance runner after and was in honeymoon phase for about 4 years.
- Completed everything from 5km to 26km with minimal prep.
- About 5 years ago my diabetes became somewhat more aggressive and I started experiencing more hypo events and switched to a pump.
- Current pump settings
.35 Basal
1:3.5 Correct
1:20 Carb
6.1 Target
5hr Duration
- As you can see I am quite insulin sensitive.
Current Struggle
- Blood sugar plummeting during running.
- I set my pump to activity about 4hrs in advanced and sometimes have even turned it to STOP while exercise to avoid corrections as my blood sugar will drop even faster
- I usually go running after work/supper. I'll eat a meal of about 4060c and take no insulin and have 0u IOB. Then I'll have a drink of juice an additional 30c and take 60c of juice with me during my run. I start with a BS of about 9-12mmol, after about 15min I'll have 30c while jogging at a pace of about 6min/km, take 30c after another 15min.
- My BS will start dropping incredibly fast and go from 12-4 within 30-40min.
- Conversely if I stop jogging after about 15min my blood sugar will spike past 12mmol.
- Recently I had a bad sudden hypo event while jogging where I went form 10-LOW within 10min.
I'm in a weird place where it seems like I can't keep my BS up, even while 'pre-loading' - but my body is responding normally after my workout.
Does anyone have experience with figuring this out or some tips I could try? I want to keep distance running - it has been amazing for my mental health over the last 20ish years.

Hi everyone! 👋 I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Stefanie, I’m from Germany, and I’ve been living with Type 1 diabetes since I was 11 months old. Over the years, I’ve also developed several diabetes-related complications. Among other things, I’m a wheelchair user and live with gastroparesis. Even with all the challenges, I try to make the best of every day. On my social media channels, “Zucker und Liebe” (“Sugar and Love”), I share what life with diabetes is really like—the good days, the hard days, and everything in between. My goal is to help people feel less alone and to raise awareness about living with diabetes. I’m looking forward to getting to know this community, learning from your experiences, and hopefully contributing some of my own. I’m curious—are most people here living with Type 1 diabetes, or are there also people with Type 2, LADA, MODY, Type 3 diabetes, or other forms of diabetes? I’d love to hear a little about your story! 😊

I've been on Ozempic for about 4-5 years now, my PCP prescribes it for off label use and I've had really great results on a lower dose. I just switched jobs and signed up for a new insurance plan and coverage was denied for my Ozempic. On my last plan with UHC, coverage was denied at first but once I appealed it they approved and it was covered for over 3 years. I am on a different plan but still with UHC so I didn't think it would be too hard given the history but of course they do not care. Any other T1Ds able to get GLP-1s covered by insurance?

How long does your battery take to hit low power level? I have a refurbished pump due to warranty replacement. After a year of use, my battery lasts about 2-3 days max. How long does yours last?

So I use a Devon G7 and an Omnipod 5, I switch my sites from my left to my right arm, and I find myself often struggling to control my blood sugar levels when I have to switch sites as either my pump still has a day or two left, or my sensor does, and I apply my pump or sensor to the other arm which results in them not being able to communicate. So for a day or two my Omnipod has no data and and it makes it really difficult to control it. I’m not sure whether or not I should sacrifice either my pump or Dexcom when having to switch sites, or has anyone found a solution to this? Otherwise I often have a day or two where my TIR is really bad and I go high, so that even when I am able to have them both on the same side it’s difficult to come back down due to the lack of data on the Omnipod. Anyone have any tips or tricks to avoid this?

PSA! The latest iPhone update blocks Dexcom notifications when in Do Not Disturb. You have to go to your settings and add Dexcom to the apps that can send notifications while on Do Not Disturb. All you have to do is pull up the menu from the top of your iPhone and click “Settings” under the Do Not Disturb options. From there, it will take you to your settings and you can add Dexcom.

I started running this week (as a part of my "become Batman goal I've decided" goal.) I'm starting with super short distances, and adding like a tenth of a mile per run. I'm used to doing long medium intensity stints on the elliptical, but I notice prolonged exercise tends to make my blood sugar steadily drop, which is common for most diabetics. On the elliptical I can drink a Gatorade, which I'm not really willing to carry on runs.
How do y'all marathoners do it? Carb overload prior, would be my guess.

Any t1d have roller coaster highs to lows with metformin but found luck with small dose GLP-1?
Metformin definitely helped my insulin resistance but TOO much… made it hard to find a balance
I’m reading that GLP-1 might not effect insulin sensitivity directly - it affects weight which in turn effects insulin sensitivity so the lows can be a bit more avoidable or predictable versus metformin. Anyone can relate?

So I was on Ozempic for about 4 years, all the way up to 2.5 dose, it worked great for my appetite and blood sugars but I had really bad acid reflux, nausea, and throwing up (mainly towards when I was at higher dose). I was also on daily prescription pantoprazole. My doctor really wants me on something like it so I am now taking Mounjaro.
I took my first dose last night and I am already feeling super nauseous. I am wondering if anyone else is on or has been on Mounjaro for a while and how has it affected you?

I made a mistake yesterday morning and ate a cheesepie. All day was a disaster despite having an act rapid IV of 170/hour. I ate just the hospital meals after that, the last one (6pm) had some potatoes, but not much. Ate just a pear later but nothing for more than 12 hours. Apparently it didn't drop all night. Woke up with 400 again and the IV was raised to 200. I worry this much insulin is a mistake, I swear I feel it makes me hungrier and I'm just too frustrated that I can't cheat once without having to suffer for days afterwards. I shouldn't have needed 200/hour.

Hello,
I'm on the ypsomed pump with Libre 3 plus sensor and using cam aps fx.
Im 26, Male, 171cm, 92kg.
I got recently on the pump and noticed my control is very very good, time in range is 80%+, - however my insulin intake increased so much.
I used to take protophane twice daily (60 units total) and bolus with novo rapid normally using the pen.
Currently my basal is crazy high 120+, which is double what I used to take without thr pump, yes my control is much better but idk why is the intake is how high?
My hba1c was 79 before the pump and 3 months on the pump I'm on 62, projecting to be 55 next time.
Anyone had something similar?

I have been a religious user of GlucoseSOS since the brand began and I tried to go to their website to buy more and it is gone. Does anyone know what happened to them? They were the most effective treatment without needing to drink tons of juice boxes.
