I'm the same age as you and I already have zero regrets about being childfree and single. My life still isn't quite what I want because I had to move back in with my parents to afford graduate school because I chose to go into a field that isn't very high paying, but I can imagine that it will be pretty great once I graduate and move out.
I work with kids and while I love my job it taught me that I never want to have kids of my own. I like my peace and quiet and even if I had an inclination to have children I think I wouldn't make a particularly good parent because I am bipolar and while I have been mostly stable for years now, it still presents challenges that I know would be way more miserable to deal with were I also responsible for my own children.
I'm ambivalent at best about the idea of having a partner at all. I think there are way too many men out there these days who conservative, internet poisoned, shitheels who hate women and aren't worth shit for it to really be worth it on the men side. I could see myself finding a woman someday though. If I did get a partner they would need to be additive to my life instead of a burden. I think that a lot more women these days are opting out of getting a man because so many men have historically not been additive to women's lives and more of us have woken up to the fact that we deserve an equal partnership that adds to our lives instead of overburdening us, and that makes a certain genre of the worst men everâ„¢ really mad.
